We don't eat out often but I do love a prime rib dinner and my husband prefers "something else" so this time we chose Birdie's. I did make a reservatiion but when we arrived at 5:45 we were left standing at the door for about 10 minutes and then they could not find our reservation. We were finally given a table. When a server came up to us she told us she would be serving us because "there's no-one else available". I suspect they thought we really did not make a reservation. However, we had no complaints with the service. I ordered my prime rib medium-rare and it was. When it came I was thinking more jus would be good but once I started eating I realized there was enough and it was very flavourful. There was an assortment of 'crunchy' veggies (I do wish restaurants would cook the veggies just a bit longer) and really delicious tiny new roasted potatoes. I did have to ask for horseradish and it was good but did not have the heat I would love to have with my beef. My husband ordered the gnocchi stroganoff. It was a very full plate and he was unable to finish it. I tasted it and it was delicious. Definitely recommend it if you like gnocchi. They make it there and it was light and yummy. The beef tenderloin with it was tender. My husband felt the pickle which was in thin strips wasn't needed but I disagree. I really liked that flavour addition. If we go back I would order this dish. Several of the desserts were not available. My husband had wanted the homemade vanilla ice cream but there wasn't any. We both had the whisky sauce bread pudding. This was a large portion and we were unable to finish it. It was good but conclusion was that the bread pudding I make at home is better. Whisky sauce though was delicious. Next time I would try the creme brulee. We would like to try returning for breakfast or lunch.

Thank you Patricia for your four star rating and detailed review. On our menu the prime rib is represented as 8 ounce but in fact we have been serving 10 oz as the 8 ounce was too thin, The Gnocchi is one of our best selling dishes and we do sell out. We also have supply chain issues, its not that I mind keeping inventory but some things we just can't get. Thank you for your kindness.

When Birdy's first opened were disappointed as it was in need of much refinement but living nearby we tried it many times and it improved over time to become a favoured spot. Although the interior is clean and well maintained, it is lacking intimacy and character but does offer spaciousness and separation. The food is usually very well prepared and presented and it is easy to recognize a commitment to locally sourced and carefully prepared and cooked. Breakfast is really a treat. I would love to see the proprietor find a different location with better atmosphere because I foresee that it would raise the bar and hopefully the business and revenue for this proprietor. It could easily be a favourite and famous Belleville destination.

Stopped here for late lunch based on reviews. The menu offered appetizers, salads, wraps, burgers and entrees. I chose the Blackened Salmon wrap, side salad
Healthy choice and delicious. Priced at $16 Will certainly go back if in the area. Wonderful and attentive service.

Went in August for brunch with family, it was raining so we had to sit inside. Our waitstaff “Molly” did not wear a mask at any point during our meal or debit transaction. She was the only server who did not have PPE on, yet the sign on the door says health unit requires masks in restaurant. The food was very good, coffee was overpriced $3:30 per cup +HST ? We won’t return due to health & safety concerns during the covid crisis. If the server has to hand you your meal and the debit machine (which breaks the social distancing guidelines), she should wear a MASK ! This puts everyone at risk who visits your establishment.

Thank you Cottage mouse for your feedback. Our servers do wear masks. Unfortunately Molly suffered health consequences from wearing the mask. Guests who cannot wear masks due to health conditions are allowed in the business with no mask. Please know that if you had let us know that you were uncomfortable with the server not wearing a mask another server wearing a mask would of been provided for you. These are uncertain times and as the business owner I feel I have to be fair with staff who have health issues. Just as I would have to be fair with guests with the same health issues. We sanitize all menus, tables, chairs, debit machine, salt, pepper, sugar and billfolds after every use. Frequent touch surfaces are sanitized hourly. It is in the business interest and the guest interest that staff remain safe as well. I can assure you that Birdys staff are concerned about safety and comfortable with the safety measures in place.

I have eaten at Birdies before, and quite frankly, it was very, very good; this time, not so.
My wife and I attended Birdies at 4:00 pm, and after they corrected the lunch to supper menus we were set for a great experience.
My wife's napkin was soiled, but the waitress was quick to replace that.
We ordered our food, and began to wait.
And wait
and wait.
50 minutes later, my wife and I decided to leave, as we stood up, our food arrived.
The food was very good, but we were not about to stick around for anything else.
The waitress we had was very good, but did not come to ask us if we needed anything, or offer an update on what was taking so long in the kitchen.
My wife recalls hearing some of the staff talking, and one young lady stated, "That one table has been waiting for forty minutes", to which a reply was heard, "Oh well".
There was a party of people on the patio and my wife and I dining inside, it wasn't busy, so I am at a loss as to what the problem was.
Regardless, this will be my final visit to this establishment as we were having an anniversary dinner and the experience soured our mood.

Food was cold and overdone.
We ordered a cheese and meat platter as an appetizer but received no utensils to eat it with. When the waitress showed up again we finally finished the platter with our fingers. We told her we had no utensils and asked for napkins to clean our hands. We were told the person who seated us should have given us our utensils and the bathrooms were over there.
The waitress only had us 4 at the one table to serve. Another waitress served three tables around us and was much friendlier and attentive.
Main course was cold hard veggies (that were cooked) and cold dry cremini chicken for two of us, the salmon was overdone, but the steak was not bad.
When dinner is over $250 you would expect better food and service.

We dropped in for dinner on Sunday at 6:30 for two and were very lucky to get a walk in. Recommend booking reservations in advance.
Arrive was fast and friendly despite just reopening from COVID.
Food was phenomenal. We had prime rib (outstanding) and rib steak. Both came with delicious garlic mash (or fries) and some sautéed green bean and zucchini.
We didn’t have room for dessert tonight but will be back. A local advised the brunch is phenomenal.
Surprised this place isn’t ranked higher. Foodie paradise. Perhaps prices are on the high side for the area but this is in line with what we’d get in Toronto and worth it.

Beet salad had 4 teeny bits of beet on a sea of lettuce but the dressing was great. 1/5
Cremini Chicken was ok but needed far more sauce. 3/5.
Mediterranean Linguine was underwhelming. 4 slices of chicken on underflavoured but plentiful pasta. Had to search for the feta cheese. 2/5
Gluten-free choices were not on the menu but available in all sandwiches and pastas at no extra charge.
Not recommended. Definitely not fine dining.

Theresa W, Please note that the restaurant name is Birdys Fine Casual Dining. We do not charge fine dining prices. The beet salad you ordered was a small. I spoke with your server and she did a quality check and discounted your salad for the perceived lack of beets. You did not tell her about any problem with your meals but according to your server the tone had been set and she knew but was unable to engage you though she tried. She also commented that you ate all of your respective meals. The cremini chicken and Mediterranean pasta are two of our best selling dishes and we have many repeat customers for those dishes. If the readers look at Birdys other favourable reviews those items are frequently mentioned. I am sorry you were disappointed with your meal.

Very disappointing I don’t understand why they would offer prime rib on the menu if they can’t cook it properly. This restaurant is very nicely laid out. The staff is very friendly, and they obviously seek to do their best but that dinner at prime rib dinner tonight was hugely disappointing I ask for medium, rare prime rib, and there’s no question. There was no sign whatsoever of any pink. It was definitely a well done piece of meat. I find there’s nowhere in Belleville You cant get prime rib, but I used to be able to get it at birdies but I guess not anymore although one failure doesn’t constitute the end but at these prices and how bad it really was tonight I just couldn’t help but say how disappointed I am

My partner and I went here for our anniversary dinner and were not disappointed. We enjoyed great drinks, the brie appetizer, Mediterranean Chicken Pasta, Seafood Linguini and a creme brule for dessert. Great food, service and ambiance.

My beloved and I went for brunch. Very pleasant interior and excellent service, though the staff were very stretched. We both ordered steak and eggs. The steaks were both cooked perfectly medium rare, though my beloved's was somewhat fatty. However the flavor was delicious. Only criticism? The home fries were overseasoned. But overall a great experience - we'll be returning for sure

Food was ok but not good value for the money. Premises needs some updating and did not seem 100% clean. Waitstaff was friendly but not at all engaging - seemed a little bit uncomfortable in their role. Lastly, if a restaurant is serving soup they should at least provide a proper soup spoon. The lack of proper cutlery does not match up with the “fine dining” in the name.

Husband and I tried this restaurant to celebrate our 29th wedding anniversary. We had the Saganaki. Impressive display of flames and waitress handled it like a pro. And it was delicious.
I ordered the Mediterrain Linguine with Chicken. It was delicious but I don't understand why my bread slices weren't toasted like I see in other pictures. or why I wasn't offered fresh parmesean like the table near us who ordered the same item.
Since bay scallops were no longer available, husband had the steak sandwich with smoked cheese. The salad looked lovely but the sandwich was a small portion size.
Service was good (and I'd hope so since it was 5pm). Would like to visit for lunch or breakfast next time.

There are thousands of details in a business and it takes time to get all staff up to speed on all details. Unfortunately staffing is a huge challenge for all businesses. The service was amazing, the atmosphere inside was lovely. Food was OK. Steak was well cooked but not flavourful, portion sizes were small for the price. Not what I would call "Fine Dining." I would try this place again to see if the food was better!

This is a wonderful place! The quality of food is superlative! The ingredients are fresh, beautifully prepared and well presented. The deck is a good size and the indoor space allows generous social-distancing.We have been to Belleville many times and are very happy to have found this excellent cuisine!
