Elizabeth McNeill 1 review 6 days ago The food was tasty but unfortunately the service was awful. Our server was a blonde lady who was not covering her face with a mask and we waited over an hour for our food. Its an unfortunate way...to end the beautiful afternoon. I understand sometimes restaurants can be under staff but this server truly looked like she did not care about the service. Did not appreciate the attitude.More

We’ve been here a number of times. A very friendly little pub and we’ve never had a bad meal. The Big Dipper is incredible with amazing roast beef and the best au jus ever. Highly recommend it!!

I discovered this place about a year ago. And then last week I was very pleased to find out that they were opening a patio. I ordered the Big Dipper which is a roast beef sandwich. Last week it was delicious. We went there again...this week and I ordered the same thing but it was nowhere near the quality that it was last week. Last week it was sliced roast beef on a really nice crusty bun. This week it was like shredded up beef that was salty which means it was really processed and it was on a hot dog bun. I mentioned this to the server and I was given a bit of a poor excuse about how because of covid-19 there have been difficulties getting some things delivered. However, while I was sitting there eating my beef on a hot dog bun, a server served two plates of the Big Dipper beef and it didn't look like mine and it wasn't on a hot dog, it was on some nice buns. Needless to say this is why I have labelled this review as "Disappointed".More

We ordered a take out meal from Jack Cook's Wee Sports Pub. The meal was excellent, I had been dying for a decent burger! The food was hot and ready when I arrived, delicious and very generous quantities. Even got to order beer and wine...with the order! I will order again, for sure.More

I have been to Jack Cook's Pub 5 times now. I've eaten lunch there every time. The food is great and reasonably priced. Cold draft for only 5 bucks. Friendly staff. I met the owner"Rocky" today. Super nice guy and a good host! Great neighbourhood...bar.More

Jack Cook's does it all....breakfast (Wednesday-Sunday), lunch, dinner, pub. We went for breakfast and it was excellent. Erica was an excellent server. Service was quick, friendly and efficient. Servings are a good size. I had the breakfast sandwich with pea-meal bacon and really enjoyed it. My...husband said his omelet was really good as well. Although it is small, the decor is really nice. The prices were really reasonable as well. We will be going back.More

I went for a lunch outing with a few coworkers last week. The atmosphere is great (I love the peanuts and the throwing of the shells on the floor), and it just happened to be one of their cheap wing days which I was super...happy about. The waitress was polite and prompt, and our drinks and food came out without any undue wait. Most of us ended up ordering the wings since they were on sale, and one coworker ordered a reuben. All of us were very happy with our food, and I'd definitely recommend the wings. Well above average in size, perfectly done and they have some really great, unique flavours. However, my one coworker ordered a salad. At first it seemed fine, but part way through she noticed that a bunch of the lettuce was wilted, black and slimy. She sent it back, and she ended up asking for the replacement to go since the rest of us had finished. When we got back to work she opened it up, and the replacement ALSO had nasty looking wilted lettuce in it (she brought it around to show us). Thankfully they had comped it (but only after being asked, which IMO should have been automatic). I'd definitely go back if I'm going out with the guys for wings, but I'd be hesitant to go if I thought someone might be getting a salad.More

Noticed this newer pub driving by and finally took the time to stop in for lunch. The place was about half full, pretty good for an early lunch time. Our beer order was taken almost immediately and the server apologized for taking so long when...she brought them 4 minutes later (?). Our lunch orders were also taken promptly. We ordered two different sandwiches, one with their own cheddar soup. I don't think 10 minutes passed before we got our orders, hot and fresh. Very nice portions, mine required a to-go box. This is a clean and nicely set up pub. Everything here is on a small scale. The beer choices are few but good and the menu offers a limited selection wherein everyone should be able to find something to their taste. Prices are excellent. I gave it a 5 star rating based on what it is, a pub not trying to be anything other than that. I can see the owners having to decide in the future whether to keep a small but dedicated clientele or move to a larger location. The only thing I didn't especially like is the close seating, but again, it's a small venue. I very much enjoyed Jack's and will be returning.More

I thought it was a pretty nice place. You toss your peanut shells on the floor...so if you have peanut allergy stay away. We ordered wings and I was happy with them. The wait staff were all very nice.
