This place was a relaxing entertaining place for a family dinner! The food was good, fast, server was very polite and helpful. And there was an awesome accordion player for music and laughter. The kids weren’t sure what it was but they lived!

The food was mediocre and over-priced. The supposedly Neapolitan pizza has never heard of Napoli. The waiter inexperienced and stiff.
Its a shame - this restaurant has gone so downhill since the pandemic. Menu has shrunk and on a cheap piece of laminent paper. Service was mediocre. Wine selection was minimal when it use to be so much more. Couldn't get pizza cuz the cook...failed to show up. I ordered a pasta with chicken and there was barely any. During the pandemic we ordered take out and the portions were tiny and the mushrooms in the meal were canned (hurl). I hope they can step up their game but right now, they need to do some serious rethinking of their operation.More
*buyer alert: they include gratuity in the final price and don’t tell you. Fraudulent! Additionally, this place is NOT kid friendly and definitely not family friendly. Honestly. The food was really good, but because of how crappy the service was; and just the experience we...got from the servers and possibly the owner/manager- it’s really hard to even give a good review. We had a reservation for 3; myself, my husband and my little baby. It was a cold day, so my husband dropped me and my little one at the door. When I walked in; no one came to greet us. I’m standing there for about 5 minutes. It wasn’t until another couple walked in; that someone approached me. Paying NO heed to me, and serving them first and seating them. At this point I’m ready to walk out but the manager/owner comes and asks me if I have a reservation. I said yes, for 3. And he looks at me and goes- DO YOU MEAN 1.5? I’m like no, 3- I have someone else coming and my baby. So he says- OH SO 2.5 and walks away. Then he comes to me 2 mins later points to a table and says, BTW there’s a table there for you. It only had 2 seats../ did they expect me to put my kid on my lap the whole time? So I asked where my third chair is, and they said they’d give me a high chair. 10 mins gone, no one’s served us yet and no high chair. I watch them serve people who walked in after us. Thankfully I actually brought my own portable high chair so I just pulled a chair from another table and set up my baby. Okay… then, we sit there my husband walks in and we wait another 10 mins. No menu and no one has come to us yet - so my husband goes to the front to ask for a menu. They hand him one in the hand instead of walking it to us. Such a 1 star restaurant thing to do. We finally have our order and some guy is setting our table with bread and water: so i assume he’s my server. I ask about the menu and he says - oh I’m not your server. The server finally comes to us and introduces himself with the answer to the question I asked the other guy, no hi, no introduction ; just “it has potatoes in it”… okay who are you? Anyways; I told him how disappointed I was and told him we’re here for a special occasions he apologies and then says, okay. No question on what we’re celebrating NOTHING We place our order. Food is good. We got Ceaser salad, fish pasta & this rigatoni with goat cheese - it was all delicious. We watch as the servers go and check up on each table refilling water, and making conversation. Nothing towards us. We finish our dinner and ask for a dessert menu. I was ready to order something from the menu; instead another server approaches us now (a woman with red hair) with our bill. I wasn’t even done eating and didn’t get a chance to even order my dessert. Overall- TERRIBLE experience. TERRIBLE service. I walked into a 1 star restaurant and ate 4 star food. Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone primarily because the service sucked that much. Maybe they hate people with babies or they are racist - who knows.More
Service was excellent. We enjoyed the warm herbed buns that were served before the appetizer. The crispy calamari and two shrimp were nicely cooked. A very delicious slightly spicy aioli was a great accompaniment, but we could have used a little more (we didn’t ask,...perhaps we should have…) A thin crust pesto pizza was enjoyed with the crust having some nicely charred areas for added flavour. The chicken came bathed in a lovely lemon butter sauce with capers, YUM! Sweet roasted red pepper with other crisp vegetables and two tiny nicely roasted potatoes. I would have enjoyed more vegetables on the plate. There is a nice ambiance with their decor and windows looking out towards Gage Park and City Hall area. Parking is free in the close by underground. The food was good, service was excellent and the ambiance completed the evening.More
thought we would try this restaurant, used to go there years ago. allot has changed. not for the good. had the osso buco, tasted like all the sauce came out of a can. the risotto tasted like paste. mussels had the same sauce. my wife...rigatoni with mushrooms used the same sauce with chicken added that she paid extra for, she had trouble finding the chicken. the bread had too much oregano on it, and was 75 cents each extra piece if you wanted more. my wife was going to order the chicken parm, but wanted pasta instead of vegetables, was told that it would be extra as all dishes were pre-sized? waiter did ask why we didnt eat much, we told him why, he said he would tell the cook. no response came back.More
Excellent neighborhood find! We were looking for a different restaurant but found Vesuvio’s instead. Glad we did!
First time there with my father in law. We both had veal dishes. Food was very good, the service was great. Maeve was the perfect hostess. The atmosphere was very nice. I will be back again and would recommend this place to friends.
We celebrated our son’s First Holy Communion dinner party here on May 29 and it was fantastic!!! The food, atmosphere and the service was amazing. We got so many compliments from our family and friends. I highly recommend them and will definitely be back! Great...job to the owner and his team!More
Brought my mother here for Mother’s Day. Every single bite was absolutely delicious. We were stuffed to the core. Always a great experience dining here!
Poor service. Three different people were coming to our table with no communication between one another. Our mains came out less than five minutes after ordering which is great when you are at a fast food chain but NOT for fine dining. My lasagna looked...like soup. We were not offered complimentary bread like the surrounding tables. My husbands 6 0z glass of wine was far larger than my 9 oz (which looked more like 5). Disappointing all around. Will not go backMore
It was Brampton’s Jazz festival so we chose Vesuvios’s to enjoy dinner with music. There was one large group in the corner celebrating a birthday while most other patrons gave some attention to the performing artists. It was a nice backdrop for an evening out....As always we were started with a lovely warmed herb bread with a spicy oil on the side. The Giuseppe salad was amazing, chock full of goodies in a lovely blueberry vinaigrette. It was as delicious to eat as it was appealing to look at. Both pasta dishes, fettuccine Alfredo and rigatoni salsa rosata were served piping hot and generous portions. The rigatoni was especially delicious with it’s tasty sauce and chunks of contrasting tangy goat cheese. I’ll definitely have that one again. Service was pleasant but maybe a bit stretched. It seemed like our server had a larger assignment. When we first arrived we did have to wait outside for a bit until we were noticed.... Things are different during Covid-19, so I get it. Once we were discovered we were “admitted” after temperature checks, hand sanitizing and signing in. Good precautions in place and a lovely dinner with jazz ensued.More
My family and I ordered from Vesuvio’s on Uber Eats but when our order arrived one item was missing and one was missing the modifications we had specified. When I called the restaurant about this, they were so kind and helpful! I spoke with the...owner who apologized profusely and he ended up driving the missing and remade items to my home along with a complimentary Tiramisu as we were celebrating my mom’s birthday. This is my mom’s favourite restaurant to order from and this is why. Great customer service and amazing food!More
My friend and I was standing at the front desk for like what felt like 20 mins. And no one acknowledged us. They front desk girl took care of a Caucasian couple that was in front of us and then proceed to totally ignore us....Not sure if it was because we were 2 brown women or not. They kept walking by and doing their thing. No eye contact no hello, we’ll be with you in a moment, nothing. Finally we felt so unwelcome we decided to leave and take our business somewhere else. I was taking my friend there for a birthday dinner. However, I will never return there. They don’t even deserve 1 star.More
I have been taking business clients here for years. The service and the food are top shelf. The wine menu has depth and something for every budget. Portions are generous, and everything is served hot. And even when it's busy , the service is attentive,...friendly and professional. I have hosted everything from 2 person meals to Christmas lunches for 10-12 here. And when I say to my customers, Vesuvio's? It's always a yes. I hope the ride out the present CV challenges and are here for years to come.More
