After a recommendation from a Downtown Burlington friend about the best pizza in Burlington and 2 months of lockdown, we decided to support a local restaurant. I have been to several other Burlington restaurants over the last year of Covid and had no issues or...concerns. Upon entering the front door and seeing the 2 pizza chefs without a mask I should have taken notice immediately. Even the waiter that seated us wasn't wearing one. I guess I didn't walk out because I thought maybe they had a reason for not wearing one. In all the other dinning experiences I have had over Covid I have never seen a staff member without a mask. After about 40 minutes I started to see and count the other staff members in this small restaurant, 10-12 without masks. Now I started to see an issue. After a rushed meal of a cheese plate and 2 pizzas we left. I decided when I got home to contact the manager about the mask issue. I was told that they had upgraded their air exchange unit and that the bi-law allows for exemptions for masks. I quickly asked that all 10-12 staff members had heath reasons for not wearing a mask? Really didn't get anything other then they were following the bi-law. No questions on my experience or if I was OK with his answer, I hung up the phone. I am now questioning myself as to why I didn't walkout and I truly believe that the reason is that I wasn't expecting any of this in a red zone area under restrictions of only 10 patrons. I did some research on this restaurant and found several other complaints about the patio and no masks. My experience was inside the restaurant which is even worse. I am writing this review so no one else that follows the mask rules has to deal with this establishment. There is no way all 10-12 staff members are exempt from wearing a mask and I do find this to be nothing more then a staff decision to not wear masks at work. After not seeing several family members on a regular basis and my mother for over a year and a half now I have no time for people and the mask issue. I truly can say this was not worth the money and has to be by far the worst dining experience in my lifetime. I will be calling public health. This place needs to be shut down.More

My husband and I had such a wonderful experience at the Elevator. Not only were our meals delicious, the atmosphere was very pleasant. This restaurant goes above and beyond my expectations! My first time but definitely not the last. Four of us shared three pizzas. I wouldn’t be able to say which is my favourite because all three were delicious. I can’t wait to go back and try other dishes I saw on Instagram; they look...amazing. Great atmosphere attentive but not intrusive staff.More

I visited this restaurant last week for a second time and definitely I will go again! This is now my special place for dinner in Burlington. Place looks nice and professional is very knowledgeable about food and vines. Both times I had pizza and vine...and it was delicious! I recommend this to anyone who likes dining out.More

Our new favourite place to dine. After having been here a few times, it's always a beautiful experience. Service is warm and attentive without being obtrusive. The atmosphere is cozy and modern (even the outdoor seating is pleasant when the weather is warm) and not...dated like certain other Burlington institutions. The food is portioned perfectly for ordering multiple things and sharing. And the food itself is always delicious. Clean presentation, nothing overworked. The chef is always so proud to serve each unique dish, as he should be. Quality ingredients with the main component being enhanced by the other elements on the plate. The drink menu is very interesting - whether it's the Japanese whiskies, the excellent selection of wines, or the interesting beers. We never feel like we come back to the 'same old thing' but the 'same old standards' are always present.More

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Elevator Bistro in downtown Burlington. We both had Elevator's authentic sourdough pizzas, made to order, with fresh organic ingredients. They veganized them for us as well! The staff is so lovely and the bistro design is...magnificent! Thank you for authentic food. Thank you for being authentic! A breath of fresh air! <3More

I ate at EleVATOR two weeks ago (roughly) with a friend. I found the food to be good, although perhaps not as plentiful as I would have liked. I noted that the attitude of the servers to masking was cavalier at best. I believe it...is time to hold reastaurants to account for protecting our health and safety. Ordinarily I would not have written a review. However, I read two others that noted a similar complaint and am appalled at the management response - juvenile and disrespectful.More

Again there seems to be a disconnect between ones ability to understanding a Bi-law and what its intended to do. Restaurants are accountable to health standards and they have plenty of work to do keeping diners safe. Inspections and regulations attain to that. If your...More

I ate at Elevator Bistro two weeks ago, and sat on the patio and was surprised and disappointed that the staff were not wearing masks inside or out. The staff was passionate about the food and its preparation and it is upsetting that management would...not care to protect them, nor their customers. I read the restaurant's response to another reviewer who brought this up and found it to be rude and unhelpful. For these reasons I won't be back. A shame because word of mouth goes a long way.More

This is your third attempt to socially shame, spread misinformation and impress upon other's what brilliance a CP24 education can amount to. All we need to say is that our team understands our municipal By-law, we follow its protocols and we adhere to its intended...More

Really Elevator Bistro? Do you realize there is a pandemic going on? You should be ashamed at not doing your part to prevent the spread. None of your staff were wearing Masks and that is completely irresponsible and a complete disregard for public safety. No...one wants to wear a mask but most are doing what we can. The food was good but the enjoyment of eating was clouded by the lack of masks by your staff. We should have left and I regret that. Follow protocols. They’re there for a reason.More
