Booked a table for 6 ppl 3 weeks out for an annual friends Christmas dinner. We were placed at an L shaped table (everyone on the same side) in a hallway beside the service/washroom stairs. Ambiance was horrible. Bottles of wine were $90+. There was...a limited menu with 1/2 pages pizza. Pizza was very good.More

Have heard some wonderful things about this little boutique restaurant. Finally got around to experiencing it. Was not disappointed. Unique is a good word to describe this place. Both in the food and the atmosphere. Douglas our server adds to the uniqueness with his passion...and food knowledge. The menu is constantly changing, which is why it is not on line. Which is great for variety, but a shame if you fall in love with something. We started with the "Bread du Moment" Miche, Smoked Trout, le Chevre. Wonderful fresh bread with a deep flavoured smoke on the fish. Very enjoyable. One of their salads. a mixture of Kale, beans, cucumber, buttermilk and horseradish. Delightful. An artisanal cheese platter with a great mixture of local and European cheeses. Great mixture of sharp, blue and creamy. Then something I have not experienced before. A Cuda Crudo. Raw lamb loin topped with peas and berries. decorated with marigold. Absolutely one of the best presentations we have seen. Food porn at its best. Mains We had the aged Ikejime white fish with new potatoes and kale. One of the "shame" parts of a revolving menu, as we would definitely have this again. I tried one of the house pizzas. Nice big authentic pizza oven as you enter. If I remember correctly the pizzas stays constant on the menu. This is where the " Revelation" part comes in. I asked if I could have something added to my pizza. No... NOPE... Not happening. At first I was a bit shocked, then as I had the reason why explained to me, and I had my revelation. The Chef will remove something from his pizza if you don't like it or possibly have an allergy. But WILL NOT ADD to his pizza. Explanation is... this pizza was created by the Chef for your enjoyment, it is his creation, his thought process, his vision of what you are about to experience. Do you ask to have cream and onions added to your mash potatoes... no You eat them how they are presented. That said... I agree. It is not for me to design what is already designed. So I had the " Le Canard Vert" Duck confit, garlic scapes, taleggio DOP mozzarella di bufala, topped in thinly sliced summer truffle. It was perfect.... just as he had intended. Will definitely return to experience a whole new menu. Looking forward to it.More

We booked the patio for 20 people on a beautiful Friday evening , June 24,2022. Weather was perfect, the ambience was perfect. Elevator Bistro owner Brayan and his team were gracious and attentive hosts. The locally sourced menu of wines, cheeses, meats, salmon, gourmet pizza...(to call it pizza does not do it justice) and of course the dessert; was a truly fabulous evening enjoyed by all. Brayan and his team made this a very special and memorable evening. I would highly recommend this dining experience as second to none.More

Recommended by friends, we were really looking forward to this spot. Very clean modern interior. At first glance , the menu which changes weekly appeared limited. Some guests might be left wanting. We settled on bread, asparagus, and a mushroom pizza. All were amazing!! ‘Mark’...and co. were excellent. 10/10 but food choices might not satisfy allMore

Tonight my parents and I dined at ELeVATOR for the first time and celebrated my Mum’s 65th birthday. We were all completely blown away by how fantastic our entire evening was. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with kindness and warm hospitality that...we have never before experienced from any restaurant ever. The professionalism and attentiveness was so wonderful. They took our coats which was a nice touch, and we were seated next to the bar. The lady behind the bar was so friendly, our server was so friendly, the entire staff made it clear that our happiness and experience was their priority. We had martinis, oysters and pizza and WOW, all were fantastic. We had a lovely dessert and the chef even came to greet us for our special occasion. Everything about our time there was wonderful but the absolutely best thing was the outstanding level of hospitality and service we received. We are already thinking of when we will go back. Thank you x100 to everyone working hard at ELeVATOR to make each guest’s experience so warm and welcoming. We will be telling all of our close friends and family about how awesome our night at ELeVATOR was and can’t wait to visit again. Thank you, your attentiveness to all the little things really made you stand out in the best way. We had a lovely evening thanks to you.More

My wife reserved a table at Elevator this evening in Burlington. It was our first visit for an early birthday dinner for me. After waiting about 15 minutes for a cocktail order after being seated, the cocktails were OK as was the appetizer. However, things...turned very south very quickly with a shared pasta primi, which was effectively pureed canned San Marzano tomatoes with old crusty Burrata and underdone pasta. We ordered a pizza as a Secondi. About 35 minutes after our primi plates were cleared, we had to remind the waiter we were waiting for our dinner. It was clear they had made a mistake and entirely forgotten us. Our waiter mouthed to another server that the order was not right. That said, after about $150 into cocktails and the last dregs of a wine bottle, we were brought a pizza with a soggy raw dough base (like a soupy flabby dough bottom). At this point, we expressed our dissatisfaction with one of the hosts that the pizza was very late and way underdone and would generally have expected an apology and, assuming it was sincere, accepted such and moved on. However, the host proceeded to advise us that the dough was not raw and properly done and they had been making pizzas for 10 years. Cost was not really an issue as we have eaten at a range of restaurants over the world from 3 Michelin Stars to pubs with great wings and beer. I advised the waiter that my wife and I were Italian and had eaten pizza from the North of Italy through Tuscany down to Amalfi and this was not in any way a "pizza" despite their very expensive oven and oblivious assertions about their abilities to make pizza. Needless to say, prospective diners are far better advised to try nearby Son of a Peach or, failing that, go to the nearby Fortinos for Pane Fresca Pizza and a 6-pack of beer for $14. Elevator moves in one direction - down. Lots of other alternatives to this somewhat modern venue without culinary substance. Cross this off our list.More

Wow, what a treat! We are so happy to have discovered this resto... The service was impeccable, from the greeting to the very end of our evening. The team here is clearly very tight and work amazingly well to ensure you're looked after the entire...time you are dining. There were so many small but thoughtful touches, from the beautiful cutlery from Portugal to the exfoliating soap in the washroom... And the FOOD!! The menu was well thought out and ecclectic. The dough for the pizza and house-made crackers for entrées were superb. There was even a beautiful chili oil for the pizza made from pepperoncini apparently grown by the chef himself! This was our first visit and we will certainly be returning again and again!More

We had such a nice time at the bistro. The staff were very friendly and accommodating to our family. The food was delicious and honestly the best pizza I’ve ever had in Canada. If you’ve been hiding in your basement all this time because you’re...afraid of virus that has a 99.7% recovery rate well then maybe this place is not for you. Acting out of fear and ruining a business’ reputation is not a very honorable thing to do.More

We heard good things about the food and service so made patio reservation for Saturday dinner. When they called to verify reservation I inquired about Covid safety protocols. I was disappointed to learn the safety of the clients was essentially disregarded for the “rights” of...the staff to declare vaccination status, wear masks etc. The manager and I had a respectful conversation but essentially the policy seems to disregard the clients safety. When I asked if the staff has to wash their hands after bathroom breaks, or the chef had to cook meats to proper temperatures to avoid making clients sick, of course that approach to public health was supported. But when it comes to ensuring clientele are protected from a pandemic that kills, somehow the “rights” of staff are the priority. They don’t even test staff that declare they are unvaccinated?? Do they require clients to be vaccinated or is that optional too? Good food sounds great and I always want to support local businesses but to play Russian Roulette with my health because of some misguided policy, thanks, but no thanks. I hope the owners reconsider their position because I know my viewpoint t is not in the minority position. Hope to visit this restaurant if/when they respect the majority viewpoint on public healthMore

We visited Elevator Bistro and were seated on the patio. Chose a bottle from the wine list after some thoughtful advice from our server. We had a main course and a pizza which were both extraordinary. The service was great. If you’re in a rush...or super cautious about covid this is not the spot for you. We had a fantastic time savouring our food and wine and chatting with the knowledgable servers about our choices. Congrats to Elevator Bistro for restoring “normal” for at least a few hours.More

We attended this establishment on Saturday evening as a group of 6, all of us being first time customers. We were greeted incredibly pleasantly from the beginning, the tables themselves are a nice design, the cutlery, glassware, etc are all very fancy. Then came our...server, who was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating to food intolerances. When the cocktails came out, we were blown away at the taste, quality, and presentation. This was followed thereafter with one of the best steak tartare's i have had. All the pizza's were incredible, as well as the cheese course and asparagus vegetarian option. Desert also blew our minds. Amazing experience from beginning to end!More

This place is nothing short of AMAZING. Located on a tiny quiet corner off the beaten path in downtown Burlington. From first entering, only the courtyard for now as indoor dining is still prohibited in Ontario!, you feel warmly welcomed. It is like sitting down...for a meal in a friend's backyard. This was an unexpected and exciting find and remarkable dining experience. The owner and staff were friendly while still maintaining full professional service. The food was bespoke, carefully chosen and presented with full loving care. A work of art without being pretentious. The attention to detail at all levels was evident and the passion of the chefs came through in every dish, likewise with the cocktails and the pride of the mixologist in his creations. The venue is beautiful outside and in (got to take a peek while going inside for the washroom - which is currently permitted, even under our unending Covid restrictions - sigh!!!). Believe me when I say every detail was considered. I almost didn't want to post a review for fear I won't get a table the next time I want to visit - I will definitely be going back. If you are a foodie and have not tried it, go now before it becomes fully discovered. If this place were in Manhattan I'm sure you would be booking weeks, and maybe months in advance to get a seat!More

I seldom take the time to write reviews about local establishments which is inherently shameful to not support the people who support us. Elevator has deserved a glowing reviewing since the first time we walked in last year. After many visits, having multiple staff serve...us and learning from the owners their story and seeing their fundamental values of guest experience and food excellence consistently each time, I can’t say enough great things about this restaurant. The attention to detail in the pizzas and entrees, the curated wine list, the thoughtful tequila selection etc etc is just sublime. The moment you walk-in, you know it’s special and you know the people who work there care about their guests to levels and standards that are unusual these days. We are just grateful we found Elevator and will be back again and again.More
