Finding this restaurant somewhere were I was totally not expecting to find Persian food, let alone quality Persian food, it seemed too good an opportunity to pass up! I certainly wish I'd been hungrier, as there was so much on the menu that looked delicious. We went with the suggestions of our excellent waiter - a fish stew, mixed kebob and green olive appetizer - and she did not disappoint us even though the green olives were quite heavy and could easily fill you up along with their delicious bread. I've never had Persian fish which was a fantastic treat. Excellent meal, I need an excuse to be in Burlington again!

Fantastic food and experience! My husband and I went for dinner to Rayhoon Persian Eatery and had a wonderful time. The owner was very welcoming and even went the extra mile to treat us to a sampling of three dips that were amazing! The food was absolutely delicious and the service second to none. Our server, Sabrina, was attentive and friendly and paced our food delivery at an excellent rate. Great job, Sabrina! On June 24th, Rayhoon Persian Eatery celebrates 12 years - we wish you all the best for many more years to come.

Food was excellent. Service was fantastic. My wife and I didn't know what to order and were interested in trying a variety of different items. The manager and server arranged a delicious dinner of warm bread with dips, two servings of flavoured rice and kebabs (they said we should come back to try their delicious stews next time). Very reasonable price and look forward to going back soon! Would recommend highly. Family friendly.

The food, the atmosphere, the service and the management of this restaurant was a 5 star rating. We began our meal with Kashkeh Bademjoon, a very tasty eggplant dip. For our entrees, my wife had Koobideh Kabob, a wonderful ground and grilled brisket and I had Ghalieh Mahi, an extremely favorable concoction with Tilapia. The service was so friendly and accommodating. The owner even stopped by as we were there for the first time and personally brought us some complementary humus. It was a wonderful experience.

I had been wanting to try this restaurant for some time and finally went with a friend this past week. " The Taste of Burlington " is on and therefore a special menu was available. I had actually pretty much decided on one of their stews but changed my mind when presented with this new menu. For a set price of $ 20.00 you chose a soup or salad , a choice of 3 mains and a choice from 2 desserts. We both chose the squash soup which was served very hot ( a plus ) and was delicious. The portion was bigger than we expected. For a main my friend chose a wrap which had beef as its meat with a small salad on the side. She said it was very good. Unfortunately I chose the chicken dish ...and perhaps I misunderstood the explanation for this dish. It mentioned potato salad with pickles and then chicken and toasted naan bread I believe. Well when it arrived we were both surprised at what I received. It was basically chicken salad ( not much chicken ) , in a bowl on the centre of a plate , surrounded by toasted naan bread. It was totally uninteresting and had no flavour to it. It was a disappointment for sure. For dessert we both chose the cardamom ice-cream sandwiched between 2 thin wafer rounds. It was pretty tasty. We also enjoyed a nice cab/merlot wine . So I definitely chose the wrong food item..perhaps I'll return again in the future and try something a little more appealing. Service was friendly .

we have been to this place several times in the past couple of years. Serves excellent Persian food! Last we visited was 2 weeks ago and they had all covid measures in place including shields separating tables and menus on scanning bar codes with a max of 10 people inside! We enjoyed their pomegranate tenderloin and saffron chicken delicacies along with an eggplant dip and barbari bread! For those who enjoy alcohol they have excellent craft beer from Collective Arts, a local Hamilton brewery, with freaky designs on their cans who many claim to be collectors' items.Service is very friendly.Every last dish is tasty!

Dinner was outstanding. Incredible flavours that we’ve not experienced. Great St. Valentines dinner. This was our first visit and it won’t be the last.
As an opener, my wife had the Walnut, Berry and Goat cheese salad with pomegranate vinaigrette. It featured chickpeas and blueberries. Wonderful starter. I had the Aush Restah soup which was a hearty, tasty mixture of herbs, beans and noodles.
Our mains were Fesenjoon, a stew of chicken, butternut squash in a pomegranate molasses. Really flavourful with saffron-infused rice. I had the Rayhoon Special which as made up of super-tender beef tenderloin strips along with a skewer of chicken breast. Both meats melted in your mouth having been perfectly grilled. It also came with saffron-infused rice.
Dessert was the house “Baghlava” with coffee. A great finish to a wonderful dinner.
Our server was very efficient and helpful but also knew when not to arrive at the table.
All in all, a splendid St. Valentines dinner.

I wanted to love it here so much! I got so excited when I saw the menu, but the food is totally inedible. everything is saturated in sauce, WAY TOO MUCH sauce. One bite made my tongue break out in strange bumps and I have no food allergies! I am so disappointed!

Beautiful restaurant in Burlington, Ontario. The food quality is spectacular and the meals are full of flavour. I highly recommend the appetizer sampler as this is definitely a favourite every time I visit this restaurant. The owner makes a point of going to each table to ensure that everyone is having a good meal. The food is always top quality and is cooked to perfection. The restaurant itself has amazing views of Village Square and has great seating no matter where you sit in the establishment. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a good meal.

The Shiraz menu pack was a delightful choice for a four person visit. The meats were delicious, juicy and perfectly cooked. A rare feat to be sure. The Bademjoon stew was a delightfully tomato Smokey experience with delightful hints of saffron, meaty undertones and eggplant,

We ordered take out...had the trio app (olives, hummus and yogurt/spinach). Super yum. I thought the olives with pomegranate and walnuts sounded weird, but so glad we ordered it. I could have eaten all the olives myself.
We had kabobs, brisket and striploin. Perfectly seasoned, tender.
Portions were generous, very happy.

Average experience. Food portions were very small and food was not as good as expected.
Food was also not very flavourful as in other Iranian restaurants.
It felt like the restaurant had better days

Once every year or two, long time friends and my wife and I try to find new, tasty cuisine, we now live a fair distance from one another, so we planned on a place at roughly the halfway point. As they live in Toronto and we reside near Brantford, Burlington was our choice. Having not yet tried Persian (Iranian) cuisine, I selected Rayhoon. I had perused their website menu and saw an average rating on TripAdvisor of 4 out of 5 stars, so I had every expectation that Rayhoon would be a good find,
I much prefer writing about a surprisingly great restaurant, so it pains me to review it as being no more than 3 stars. The location was nice, the ambience pleasant and the tantalizingly written menu beckoned us all to taste their wares. Expecting it to be good was a reasonable assumption but, unfortunately, there were very few redeeming qualities in our dining experience. When I think of exotic cuisines, especially among one of the pioneers of the spice trade, aroma and flavour was strangely amiss in pretty well everything we ate. Jazzed up eggplant dishes were beyond bland, the rice was badly overcooked, the meats and sauces strangely devoid of spicy and flavourful notes. The verdict of “underwhelming” was the consensus view. What made matters worse was the price paid for an almost forgettable meal….$102 (with taxes but no service tip yet applied) per couple without beverages, save some exceptions I shall clarify later. No wines or any other alcoholic beverages were served. That’s a lot of money for retired folks for a bland meal. (I cook better myself than this chef, which is a sad statement of affairs .) when bread was the best thing on the table, well that just about sums it up, right?
I had an appetizer of baby eggplant stuffed with walnuts, something I have previously thought that came from Lebanon in a jar. The jarred product was far superior! My wife’s appetizer was a mashed eggplant dip devoid of taste that became edible only after a sprinkle of sumac and eaten with the decent bread. She shared it with her girlfriend who echoed these sentiments. Her husband had a bowl of lentil soup that he considered inferior to one he routinely takes out at a strip mall near his home.
On to the main courses, I had the lamb shank with a strange blend of affronted with a dirty white rice, neither of which was particularly tasty nor any decent texture despite the addition of little chunks of broad beans. To their credit, the lamb was super moist, falling off the bone. Aside from the rice, the only other thing on the plate was a small bowl of lukewarm lamb broth that was disappointingly weak. Some seasonings could be detected but only barely. I hope to attach a photo of my plate. My wife had a type of chicken stew that was unexpectedly dark (from the dissolved butternut squash ground walnuts and pomegranate molasses) and quite thick, so much so that it should have been a dip on the side rather than acting as a gravy. The chicken morsels were strangely dry, too. The molasses overwhelmed everything else. Our friend’s husband had chicken kebabs with rice and a roasted tomato which were so-so and his wife had the Bademjoon stew and was disappointed just like the rest of us. For dessert, my wife had a good cup of Persian cardamom tea and her girlfriend had the Persian hot chocolate hard noted of rose water and ground cardamom, but it was served lukewarm. Her husband ordered a Rollette, enticingly described as a pastry of fresh cream, rose water and crushed pistachios but it was actually a take on a Swiss roll, and it was relatively tasteless. I ordered the Makhloot, a blend of Akbar Mashti (saffron and rose water ice cream) and Faloodeh (rose water sorbet made with vermicelli noodles) which was okay, but not worth the $11.
I felt embarrassed and sheepish about this disappointing meal, but our friends shared both the anticipation and the eventual letdown.
I would not recommend this place to anyone interested in a taste experience nor will I return.

I went with a friend who was celiac. There were plenty of options for her which was great. The service was exceptional and the food had lots of flavour. Would highly recommend to anyone with or without gluten allergies
