I like to visit IKEA on a "regular" basis, specially with my grand-daughters who like to go to the playground with the unavoidable ice cream bar afterwards, I like the cheerful restaurant on the second floor when I go with my wife, inexpensive lunch but...filling.More

We always eat a meal (usually Swedish meatballs) in the restaurant when visiting IKEA. It was always good, and always a bargain. Our last two visit are starting to change our mind. The prices are creeping up, and the quality and service is failing. At...our latest visit, the meatballs were only lukewarm and the french fries were soggy and nearly cold. Staff seems to be in short supply! No serviettes in the dispenser . We had a tough time finding a table that was clean. And the lack of staff seems to have carried over to the kitchen, because we had to wait forever in line for our food, and then another long wait for the single cashier (maybe that’s why our food was nearly cold. Not a very good experience. I may try them again in a month or two to see if they have cleaned up their act (and the tables). I wouldn’t recommend the place with their current performance.More

This was our second visit to ikea. I really like the products and quality. The first time we went it wasn't overly busy so we enjoyed a leisure walk through the show rooms and got to spend time looking at all the products. This time...when we went it was very very busy, the show room is smaller so it felt closterphobic and we were unable to just take our time , it was disappointingly seeing we drove 2 hours to go three, we ended up staying 25 minutes, we bought a couple towels and bed sheets and coat hangers, we would have liked to shop more, but were not willing to fight through the crowds. I guess it depends on timing. We didn't eat at the restaurant as it too was crowded.More

While shopping, one can come and relax in the restaurant and have some food. Fairly good quality and few good choices. We always spent some time there.

Never gonna have breakfast at Ikea again! Very disappointed. The Swedish crepe looks totally different than what’s on the menu

I recently went into IKEA looking for a specific furniture item and decided to have lunch in their restaurant! The line to receive food was long and time consuming but once they gave me my food the delay to pay was just as long. I...assume my Swedish meatballs were hot but by the time I paid and sat the food was cold and really inedible. Never would I do that process again. 1 cashier but 2 registers??? I guess you get what you pay forMore

A trip to Ikea is not complete without a quick visit to their cafeteria-style restaurant between the showroom floor and the marketplace. While the cheap or rather “affordable” furnishings are probably more suited for college students or young families just starting out who are looking...to decorate their homes on a budget, Ikea has become an institution the world over and can be likened to the McDonald’s of furniture stores - every major city has one. You would be hard pressed to find someone who has never put together a Billy Bookcase or sat on an Ektorp sofa at some point In their life. For our family, we will make a pilgrimage to the Burlington Ikea once a year to load up on tchotchkes and things you would pay much more for in a regular store (i.e. kitchen wares, picture frames, kids cutlery, file folders, various office supplies, organizers, light fixtures, etc) and to grab $.50 hotdogs, soft cones or cinnamon buns on the way out the door after paying for all of your useless loot. We dropped in on a Saturday afternoon around 5pm and decided to actually grab some dinner before walking the paths to peruse the latest in Swedish designer decor in the upstairs showroom. The cafeteria was packed with similar thinking families who patiently joined the que in the long snake-like line that wrapped around to the outside of the restaurant. The line moves quickly though and you will find yourself with your face pressed up against the glass above the serving trays before you know it. While choices are limited, you can merely point at the items you want and the staff will gladly fix your plate which you put on your tray and then shuffle off to the cashier at the end of the line. A Swedish meatball dinner comes with mashed potatoes, steamed veg and their Lingonberry sauce. Other offerings include fish and chips, salmon filet, some kind of curry dish and a bunch of tasty deserts. For a family of four, our entire meal was under $35. Serving style is very similar to your high school or university cafeteria. Once you get your food, find yourself some seating. When you are finished, be sure to put your trays and dirty plates and cutlery onto one of the racks to eventually be taken away by staff to be washed. Pretty simple and minimalist dining experience reminiscent of their furniture. The food itself is just as simple without any complex flavours or unfamiliar tastes in spite of the Nordic heritage of the store that the North American palate would turn their nose up at. The most ethnic thing on their menu aside from the curry (which obviously isn’t Swedish) are their dill potatoes with lingonberry sauce. They are not serving traditional Swedish fare like pickled herring or things that the Canadian tongue cannot pronounce like Gubbröra or Raggmunk. Portions are decent and you can chug all the lingonberry drink or bootleg pear flavoured Perrier your bladder can handle to wash down your meal. If you really like the Swedish meatballs, there is a small tuck shop on the way out beside the snack stand that sells swedish cookies, candies and pantry items as well as a small freezer section. Quick and painless. Decent value and a step up from eating fast food...More

Love going to IKEA, however if you go to much it's a lot of the same things so you can get through the showcase display quickly, and just shop in the market, didn't eat the food here this time but had a great time looking...around, prices seem to be getting a bit higher then they used to be but you just gotta think about it, there are some good deals to be had... Not sure what the experience of designing a whole room is like but the computers look fun to put together a room on. ThanksMore

My wife and I browsed through the restaurant early one morning and decided to have breakfast. What an amazing surprise. Staff was friendly, efficient and happy to see us. The menu offering was varied, simple and crisp. We had, goat cheese omelette with fruit and...English muffin, egg salad sandwich, smoked salmon sandwich, a muffin, and coffee. All the dishes were substantial and the taste fresh and satisfying. And all for less than $16.00. The smoked salmon dish was worth at least 16.00. We have invited several of our friends to have Swedish breakfast with us. They have all been blown away by what is one of the best kept secrets around. I am a foodie and a critical one at that ... this is the best value I have had in a long time...More

This restaurant in IKEA is the perfect break from a power shopping day. We always get the same thing - Swedish Meatballs with potatoes and Lingenberries. It's always good. We also got some great desserts - chocolate and caramel cake - very good. I like...how the food is served on real plates and glassware. There are some good selection of beverages. Seating can be limited but the cafeteria area has been recently renovated so it's a great layout. They also have chicken meatballs, salads and fish dishes. The prices are reasonable too.More

For less than eight dollars the two of us enjoyed a nice cup of coffee (dark roast or decaffeinated) and a small piece of cake each--a bit on the sweet side.

My husband and I stopped in to Ikea for a time sensitive shopping trip. Parking was readily available but the lot was busy. We allowed 90 minutes to eat lunch and tour the store. The bright busy cafeteria was accessible by elevator or stairs and...clean tables were plentiful and well spaced. The choices were hot entrees and cold lunch items with a daily special advertised over the intercom. We chose the tasty special egg salad sandwich on whole wheat with tomato bisque soup. We spent 25 minutes at lunch and had enough time to enjoy the shopping experience.More

I have never seen coupons for the restaurant. The prices are quite fair already.
