We chose this restaurant for a casual Friday lunch with friends on a beautiful day to enjoy the patio.
The dining outside did not disappoint...the service was good, the food was about an 8 out of 10. The portion size was "adequate" for a lunch, however the pricing for pasta was a bit high. We do have to mention that we were quite surprised by an $8.50 charge for flat water. We were also surprised by the pricing for draught beer at $12 (the highest that we have ever seen anywhere).
We enjoyed this restaurant, but find that $300 (tax and tip included) for a simple lunch for four people (no appetizers, no desserts, no coffee or tea) is extravagant for the average lifestyle.

Thoroughly enjoyed dining on their patio during the music festival in downtown Burlington. A perfect summer like evening but in late spring. Warm garlic piadina was a new and delicious experience for us. This is the Italian version of a flatbread that puffed up like a donut without a proper hole. Two good size pieces were served with freshly grated cheese accompanied by a white bean dip and tapenade. Oh yes, this is really good! We had already enjoyed their complimentary homemade focaccia,YUM! Next was the calamari and shishito pepper with yuzu aioli. Serving size was on the smaller scale but adequate. It was very tender and the coating was crisp and tasty. Probably the best calamari we have had in a longtime. The peppers were a nice contrasting touch and mild. Chicken Picatta was out of this world. Beautifully presented with flavourful Rappini. The caper lemon butter sauce was scrumptious. The smashed potatoes were so good I only wish there were more! However with all the bread we enjoyed it would not have been possible to eat more. These were all amazing dishes! The other main, linguine fruitti de mare was good. It was served in a white wine sauce and although tasty was less spectacular compared to our other dishes and a smaller size compared to similar restaurants. Service was excellent. Prices more to fine dining level. The calibre of presentation, flavours and uniqueness is right up there. It was certainly worth the drive to Burlington for us.

Since the new owners took over and revamped the restaurant and menu, the once highly respected restaurant is not the same as when Nicky managed the restaurant. The new management team needs to do a better job servicing guests especially when we made reservations asking for a certain table. (They blindly gave it away after we have confirmed twice over the phone) . The servers continues to be fantastic dispute of new management. The new menu no longer has the beloved Nicky's cheesecake, no more specials, over priced and portion sizes are half of what they used to be. However, hats off to the chef for the great food! Everything tasted really delicious

This was our first time dining here since they changed ownership and the menu. We were very pleased with our experience. Firstly, we really liked how the decor has changed. It reflected a more fancy, fine dining, ambience which we personally prefer when we go out. The menu offers many choices, all written in the menu. In the previous experience, the written menu was limited but then the server would name off their many many specials….too many as it was hard to keep track of them as they were named off verbally so we had to keep asking the server to repeat some. Now the menu is all written so we can review it at our leisure while we had our before dinner cocktails. The server was very attentive and provided good descriptions of anything we asked about. Both the wine and meals we had were excellent and portions were fine for us as we even brought some left overs home. All in all we enjoyed the changes and will definitely return. In our view, DiMario’s is still the best Italian restaurant in Burlington.

If you frequented DiMario's in the past, you will notice some changes as soon as you walk in the door. Not major changes, but changes nonetheless. The new ownership seems to place a priority on having multiple managers walking around checking up on the tables. While I appreciate the obvious effort they are making, they could tone that down a bit. Having 4 managers in suits checking on roughly 15 tables seemed a bit overdone. I felt bad for them as I watched them awkwardly try and figure out what to do to keep themselves busy. But credit where credit is due, they are trying REALLY hard to encourage the regulars to remain regulars.
The menu is basically the same, for now anyway, and the food was still very good. I was particularly pleased to see that Nicky's cheesecake was still on the dessert menu, and still tasted the same, even though she's no longer there. Most of the staff are new.
The biggest issue is the noise level. It's a small restaurant, but the noise is incredible. To the point where it can be difficult to speak with others at your table without having to raise your voice significantly. If you're one of those people with hearing trouble, or struggle with background noise, you're going to have an issue here.
While it's not the same DiMario's, I still thought it was good. I'm willing to give the new ownership some time to figure things out and find their groove. As long as they keep producing high quality food I'll be back. And if they can figure out a way to dampen the noise level somehow, all the better! I wish them success.

This is usually a favourite spot, but tonight was a real disappointment, service was so slow. It was almost an hour before receiving our appetizer, marinated olives, our main courses arrived after an hour and a half, and would have been delicious but were not hot, tepid at best. the wait is normally ok, if you have apps or bread to munch on. I'm not sure if we'll return too quickly.

New ownership. New decor. New menu. Growing wine list. Experience and meal was equally as good between old and new ownership. Main room is tight and loud. We sat in the private room area. Calamari and burrata to start. One of the better calamari dishes that I have had. Mains were mushroom risotto and seafood linguine. Was prepared to spend a decent amount on a bottle of wine, but we were steered to a bottle that would likely meet our tastes at about half the price! Always a go to in downtown Burlington and will continue to be.

We have been going to Di Mario’s for perhaps 15 years and we’re disappointed to learn of its management change and it ends there! To start with, the decor is beautiful, stunning with a very current look, truly elegant but not ostentatious! The service by Brendon was superior, the best we have had there and the food was truly delicious and we had 6 different meals, my compliments to the chef! The only small thing my husband would ask for is to bring back the chicken parm! Congrats to the new management, we will be back even though we live in Niagara on the Lake now!

We visited on a Sunday. When asking about a wine we were told it was “cheap and cheerful”?! Bruschetta was a 1 inch square of focaccia with 2 cherry tomatoes on top. Dinners were ok, not bad, but not great and portion size was small. I wrote to tell them of my concerns, but never heard a word…This used to be my favourite Italian restaurant in Burlington, but not any longer. Save your money and go elsewhere.

We loved coming here year after year. The lobster ravioli was always a favourite! We skipped a few months due to my pregnancy and we’re looking forward to going back for some wonderful Italian cooking but we’re disappointed. The food was nice but different and it was more Middle Eastern (favoured) then Italian.

Although I booked a table for four for December 7 over two months ago, I was advised on December 2 that our reservation was cancelled because the entire restaurant was rented out. Perhaps a little more notice would’ve made a difference; however any reservations just before Christmas are difficult to find especially on a Saturday anywhere else. Terrible customer relations. I WILL NOT BE BACK

Unfortunately, the new ownership has completely ruined this one of a kind authentic Italian restaurant. Our family has been coming here for years and will not return. Portion sizes have significantly decreased while prices have increased without valid reason. The quality of the food has clearly declined immensely. The service is always wonderful and we have no complaints there. But otherwise, there’s no reason to continue going. Sad to see such a wonderful place fall into the wrong hands looking to transform it into every other overly priced overrated italian eatery.

Outstanding! An absolutely tasty and filling lunch for all of us. Best Pappardelle with Ragu I’ve had in a very long time-and we have been to Italy numerous times…. Friends had Chicken Piccata and Lasagna-both loved it and took some home for hubbies but I ate my so quickly I didn’t have time to take a picture. I am however including pics of friends’ lunch. Would highly recommend this place-excellent food, great attentive service. Wonderful patio ambiance too.

Went there with some friends found the service to be excellent. Although the wine selection was extensive it was on the expensive side relative to the menu. Appetizers and mains very reasonable prices and delicious non rushed service will definitely return
