The Lord Nelson Steak House has been serving the Golden Horseshoe area since 1974. The Lord Nelson provides an atmosphere of elegance and comfort. We pride ourselves in serving only the best quality meats and fresh seafoods with an extensive wine list to add to your palate. Some of the menus favourite items include shrimp cocktail, oyster rockefeller, or caesar salad prepared at the table as appetizers. Fresh pickerel or rib eye steak as a main course and creme brulee for dessert. The Lord Nelson is proud to present the new bar lounge area where our customers can relax for a pre dinner cocktail or after dinner liqueurs. The Lady Hamilton Room is available for your private function.

Overall a good experience. Food was good. Service was good. We had a couple of questions about the wine selection and they did their best to help answer our questions. Be prepared for the high end prices. Dinner for four with the usual apps, mains and two bottles of wine was around $700 before tip.

Went here for our Anniversary dinner with my sister and her husband. It is wayyyyyyy over priced! Ridiculously so. My husband ordered one of the specials ( no price, waiter just told us) it was Bison steak, mashed potato and cauliflower. It was $85.00 !! We ordered a cocktail which we thought was overpriced at $12.00. Ended up It was $17.00. I still cannot believe the cost!!! Don't get me wrong, it was very good, not for that price though. We won't be going back.

I had the sea bass which was fabulous as it always is; my husband had a strip loin steak. He ordered it medium well but got a well done steak completely dry. He ate it anyway as we had waited 1/2 hour for the meals to arrive. The service not as great as it usually is.

I couldn’t wait for the table side caesar salad. It was 0/5 the anchovies were so strong even I couldn’t eat it. I ordered surf and turf, I couldn’t even eat one lobster tail it was rubbery and not fresh. The veggies and potatoes were cold. My daughter had the pasta and there was hardly any sauce. We are here for my 50th, another waiter brings out a free dessert for me and we hadn’t ordered dessert yet. It was awkward.

We heard such great things so we went and were thoroughly disappointed. The lobster bisque was an overcooked piece of lobster in creme of tomato soup. The peppercorn steak was so loaded with pepper that we literally had to cut off the edges and we normally put pepper on everything. We shared this with the waiter and he brushed us off saying everyone loves it that way. We will not be back for a mediocre meal for a five star price. The red wine was served with grinds check out our picture. We were so looking forward to this after a tough afternoon, very disappointed.

I would give this place zero stars if I could. It is disgusting! There are no options for vegetarians. The food is basic, everything comes with the same side dish- mashed potato, cauliflower cheese. Oysters are smothered in cheese.
The food is so primitive, that I cannot understand that it is classed as fine dining. Waiters are rude. It is EXPENSIVE. $24 for a martini! Ridiculous.
The only thing people eat here is steak, and even that seems to be over salted.
This place should.be closed down.

Nice restaurant inside and the service was friendly and good. My meal was a 16 ounce cap rib eye with a side of mushrooms and a Greek salad. I also had two 9 oz. glasses of a chianti from Tuscany. The mushrooms had no seasoning and the steak was very tough. The veg and potato was a mish mash mixed together with no direction of flavor. I have been a professional cook in two high end restaurants. This meal was with tax and tip was $216.00. A great disappointment for that price. I enjoyed the Greek Salad and the two glasses of wine.

We literally dropped in without a reservation last Friday at 8:00pm. The first impression was a bit strange since there the restaurant has no windows. But then:
The owner welcomed us very enthusiastic, and then Valentino our waiter was very professional, helpful and entertaining.
We ordered Caesar Salad prepared fresh at the table, an oaked California Chardonnay and a Chianti. Both wines were delicious - and those were just ordered as by the glass.
Our main courses, Supreme Chicken and Grilled Salmon very tasty and the dessert Sticky Toffee and of course an espresso in a very decorative espresso cup. When we are back in the are - we will be back.

Absolutely amazing dinner! Never been here before, but will return. The menu is not cheap, but the quality far exceeds….this may have been the best steak dinner I’ve ever had. I went with the LN Specialty beef Tournados and my wife had the Filet…both were fantastic!

We’ve eaten here multiple times for various occasions and have always had good experiences. Which is why we are so alarmed by the horrible and embarrassing treatment we had at our last (and final) visit. Everything was wonderful until our main courses arrived. I ordered my petit filet medium, but it arrived at what even the waiter acknowledged as being medium well - though it was closer to well done since there was barely a sign of pink and it tasted very dry. I attempted a second bite as I loath returning food, but for a $55 steak, you don’t want to have to sip something to wash down each bite. The waiter was very apologetic and offered to replace my meal. In the meantime, my husband finished his meal and the table was cleared. (his steak was a bit off as well but He didn’t bother mentioning it because he was starving and couldn’t wait longer). As more time passed, my stomach began to settle from the Lobster bisque and Caesar salad, and I was no longer hungry. I called the waiter over, apologized and asked if the steak could be served to another customer as I was no longer hungry after waiting so long for my meal. This is when things got out of hand. The owner approached us clearly agitated and full of hostility. He complained about me costing him 2 steaks and who was going to pay for that? I tried to explain that the cook cost him the first steak, and the second hadn’t arrived yet but he didn’t want to hear anything that I had to say. He guilt tripped me into agreeing to taking the second steak home “at least!”. I agreed just to end the berating and told him that maybe one of the kids or the dog could eat it. (How good is steak reheated?!) My husband was boiling at this point over the way I was being treated and it was all I could do to keep him calm as he was ready to make a scene. My steak arrived in a take out bag along with the bill. There were ZERO adjustments to the bill! No offer of a complementary dessert for the inconvenience. No apology from the owner. Just blame and ridicule. He expected us to pay full price for meal I was never able to enjoy. My husband had had it at this point. He tried reasoning with Scott (the owner) but he clearly didn’t want to budge. He made it out like I was just being difficult and he was doing his best to make it right by offering to replace my meal when I “didn’t like it”, never acknowledging that the reason I ”didn’t like” my meal is because of an error in his kitchen. He eventually conceded to comp my main course, only when my husband started to raise his voice. It wasn’t because he thought it was the right thing to do, or to make things right, but to avoid a scene in his restaurant. He made sure to grab back the take out bag first though, lol! That’s ok!
Bottom line is, we were treated like we were just
a couple of scammers trying to get away with a free meal! Makes me wonder how he treats his staff too... our waiter never returned and the lady who collected payment for our bill was visibly shaking when she handed me the credit card machine! Scott might want to tone down his arrogance if he wants to keep customers returning. We just moved into the neighbourhood (walking distance) and would have frequented his establishment. This was our second visit this month! The steak I can more than forgive! It happens. The treatment we received was beyond unforgivable! Oh, and we bought several of their gift certificates from Costco for Christmas gifts. We’ll be returning them now! Shame!
