We regularly visited the Slye Fox from its opening in 2000(?) until 2015 when it was sold to (ahem) unusual owners who had no idea what they were doing. We went nowhere near it for two years, until it was sold again to proper owners....We regret the current lockdown, but ordered takeout, off the menu, tonight. The food was excellent, the staff were cordial, and we will certainly do so again. This is a great community resource, once again under competent and able management. The parking is excellent, exceeded only by outstanding staff. Fred CrockettMore

Freedom Train Band was great. The Food was just average. Our waitress was trying, it was busy but the person that brought our food was loud and definitely not presentable to serve food. Would I go back, maybe for a beer.

I have been to the Slye Fox a few times recently, a couple of times for their Trivia nights and a couple of Fridays where they have local bands. The place is busy but you can find a table. Our fave food we had was...their Ale & Cheddar dip with toasted bread and pita wedges. When you dip the bread it tastes like a great grilled cheese sandwich. Last night I shared this with one of my friends and we didn't finish it, it's very filling. Service is a little slower than other places, but I think the food is house made versus a lot heat and eats you get at chain places.More

So I had submitted a positive review back in 2017 but my wife and I had a ridiculously bad lunch at the Slye Fox - hence this update. We arrived for a late lunch - no one else at a table, couple of people at...the bar. Took just under 30 minutes for our food to come out. Food came out bland and dry (chicken was rubber). Server had no reaction to my complaint. To be fair, the food was removed from the bill. Won't come back here for food. Still looks like a decent place for a pint.More

Stopped by for a pint an hour before closing. Walked in and sat a table. We ordered drinks and were served. Several minutes later we were told by another staff member they were going to add 5 dollar cover charge each on our bill. They...did not tell us at the door. The band was not playing and I was told later by a third staff member that they had already done 2 sets and were coming out later. The 5 dollars was not the issue. It was how extremely rude the staff were with us when we questioned why there was a cover charge when the band was almost done. Would not recommend this pub.More

I went with a friend on a Saturday night for the live music and we have a great evening. The servers were very nice and the atmosphere made us feel at home right away. The band was clearly well loved by the patrons.

A couple of weeks ago we went into the pub because we had just moved to the neighborhood. It was a Thursday and there was Karaoke. It was a little on the loud side but we had a great time, saw some decent singers and...a bunch of laughs! The lady that was serving us was new to the place as well. Her name was Trish. She was very friendly and recommended a few things that we tried. She told us about the different events you guys have on a weekly basis, and said to come in sometime for dinner because the food is outstanding. She also said there would be a new menu coming in the near future. What was going to be just a quick drink turned into a night out. She made our night! We look forward to making this our local hangout and checking out the trivia and live music nights.More

Recognizing that it was busy due to St.Paddy's day, service was non existent. 45 minutes to get a beer, so we ordered a pitcher right away. Apparently some servers decided not to show up (they likely wanted to party themselves... but then they shouldn't be...waitresses should they? At any rate, not a customer's problem, but I did take it into consderation). To compensate, maybe a few bones/apps could have been thrown our way with the 6 pitchers ordered over the evening at our side of the 'party'. I could see an equivalent number of pitchers and at least 10 food orders eventually made it to the other side of the tables/room. What we saw on the plates was enough to not order food. Not the best representation given it was an event night, but it was enough for us not to tempt fate again at this establishment, and we were not the only ones echoing this sentiment. Sorry guys. The Live Band was a nice touch, but didn't make up for the waiting time, poor food & service.More

First time out here; was always wary because it looked a little run down outside. But a friend was singing there last night so we decided to check it out and I'm glad we did. The food was grest, resonably priced food and drinks and...great service from Les the ET manager down to all the waitresses. With live entertainment on Friday and Saturday and other things throughout the week, it's definitely worth the visit.More

Me and some work colleagues came here for lunch. We had extra time at lunch so wanted to go to a quiet place to eat. The waitress who was not busy at all came over 5 minutes after we sat to take our drinks order,...she was friendly and came back about 15 minutes later with our drinks and went away again. 10 minutes after that she came and took our food order. nearly 30 minutes since we arrived. We all ordered and she walked away again. I saw no sign of her for nearly 35 minutes, when she brought out our starter. After we had eaten our starter I had to go and find her to ask if we could have our main course packed up because by this point we really had to get back to the office. After about 15 minutes she brings our food out packed up and ready to go. Fetches us the bill (taking her time). We pay on one bill just for times sake. Due to the incredibly slow service my colleague decided to tip just 5%. Seeing as we didn't actually get to eat anything. She asked if there was something wrong with the service in an exasperated tone, and stormed off shaking her head. Won't be coming back. Ever.More

We were thrilled when we heard the Slye Fox was under new ownership. We’ve visited a few times over the past few months. Unfortunately what started out as quite an upbeat, positive experience has deteriorated to the point where our dinner there last night was...our last. We’ve had some successes – nachos, wings. Some big misses – burgers, breakfast. Last night my husband’s steak pie was good but his fries were cold. My burger was half the size of the stone cold bun it was served on (even though the bun had been toasted at some point). We left and I ate at Zesty Pita. What was cleaner, shinier and new is now looking dirty and shabby again. The employees are even dressed shabbily. This is really just a drinking hole. People get drunk and it’s unpleasant. I saw a bartender wake up a customer and ask if he wanted another Tallboy. This is early evening! Even the employees seem defeated – just going through the motions. I could tell you a funny (sad) story about the off duty bartender who was drunk at her own bar after shift, but they wouldn’t print it here.More

This Pub is in my neighbourhood, and we have watched it go downhill fast with a heavy heart, it used to be so alive and vital with Live Bands every weekend and decent food. New Owner recently and some major improvements made, alot of refurbishing...of furniture, cleaning, repeainting, new Chef, new menu and.... you guessed it... Live Bands on the Weekends again YAY ! This is now our "Go To" for meeting our friends and enjoying a band on Friday or Saturday nights. So great to see it done right again!More
