Drove by the place and noticed the patio. Walked in to an old school British pub, like walking back in time. Wasn't sure what to expect. Wasn't very busy, server was quick and polite. Menu was as expected for a pub. We ordered the basics,...More

We stopped here for beers on a Sunday funday. The bar is well-stocked and the service is friendly. A variety of bar munchies are offered to soak up all the alcohol, too.

We lucked out by getting a table on the patio on a hot Friday evening. The fish and chips and the quesadilla special was good with decent portions and reasonable prices. The service was not the best. We had to go into the restaurant to...More

The Poacher is the best little pub in Downtown Burlington. Food is good, plentiful and reasonably priced. There is always new beer on tap (with a guest tap every month) and even a good selection of wine. While it isn't the newest establishment and the...More

Another pub I frequent. Fantastic pub food with a large assortment of drafts on tap. Ciders also for the gluten intolerance. Always friendly staff and locals that accommodate us. Top rated for me is the fish/chips, curry and burgers.

Always great food and service at this pub. The inside needs updating as the upholstered seating and the carpets smell very old. We only sit on the patio when they are open.

Our waitress was lovely and everyone loved the food. The upholstered bench I sat on was dirty and falling apart and the tables were sticky and heavily marked up. A few updates would do wonders but still keep the rustic charm.

The top side of the poacher is great, the bottom side tends to over serve, if someone seems intoxicated why should I as a patron of your establishment have to tell you to stop serving them after their fourth yagerbomb with additional shots and free...More

We saw this Pub/Restaurant published in our hotel booklet and thought we would give it a try....my father and I both ordered the Steak and Kidney Pie...we haven't had one this good since we were last in the U.K. Well worth the visit, especially if...More
