One of Guelph's best Restaurants.
This restaurant is only a couple of blocks from our home, but unfortunately we only just got around to checking it out.
Honestly, I didn't know what to expect, but I have recently heard some great feedback from some friends who tried it.
So, when we were looking for a place to go for dinner in Guelph this night we finally made the decision to go to Queens cafe.
This is a small restaurant in a tiny plaza so there is not a lot of seating. Luckily there was a table at the back of the restaurant where we could done, because the front was packed and it looked like we were not going to get a table.
The restaurant looks very nice inside. Clean, open Concept, long and narrow.
The service started out strong, but there was a long gap between our apps and when we got dinner.
There was a table of 2 ladies who sat a while after we already finished our apps and they were getting their meals before we did.
The food options are really good. Individual prices are very reasonable. The food is beautifully prwswnted, fresh ingredients, beautiful combinations, and everything was dwlicious.
I had the lamb chops which was a special menu item and it was amazing. Perfectly cooked, fresh and properly cooked sides of mashed potatoes and veggies.
The salmon was perfection and the Shanghai stir-fry was full of flavour.
The apps we had calamari and egg rolls, and they were very tasty.
The food is amazing. I really enjoyed everything we had.
I have 2 suggestions for anyone visiting this restaurant
1) make reservations to ensure a table - it is a small restaurant
2) ask the price of the specials before ordering. The lamb chops were considerably more expensive than most menu items. (They were worth it, but just a bit of a shock)
This is definitely going to be a regular place for us to eat in Guelph. The food was fantastic and I definitely want to try everything on the menu.

Went here with another couple and had a great meal. Our server was very attentive and the food was done in a reasonable time. The avocado egg rolls were a twist from a regular egg roll and had a very unique flavour. The Thai stir fry was very flavourful and full of vegetables. Quantities for the price is fairly average without being over priced for what you are served. Playing and table decor etc is fairly simple but nice. The chef came out after our meal and asked about our particular dishes and if we liked certain flavours together and explained how things were cooked to achieve the end goal. It was informative enough to be enjoyable without feeling as though we were being interrupted.
I personally do not live the booths with the side arm as I felt a little too close to the person next to me and the lighting is a little dim if that is any sort of a concern for you. Overall, I would certainly recommend this restaurant.

Creme de Brulee to die for!!!!!!!!! We had Prime Rib and Rib Eye Hu bby says Rib Eye was delicious and perfectly done; my Prime Rib was very tasty, not the melt in my mouth that I was looking for but still worth coming back for. The vegetables were absolutely tasty and would have enjoyed a few more. Tammy (Owner) came out to meet us - cheerful most welcoming. Place is dimly lit with jazzy music not noisy and an open kitchen atmosphere. Absolutely enjoyed the experience and will be back. Both meals with one beer 80.00.

Wonderful little spot. We made reservations and had a short wait until our table was ready but we had some complimentary apps provided for us. Food was delicious. Short ribs delicious and tender, pickerel special with pomegranate topping over risotto and I had Thai noodles. Everyone’s meal was great, hot, flavourful and great presentation. Would definitely recommend

Our kids arranged takeout (due to COVid) for my husband and me for our birthdays. We had not been to this restaurant before so we were not sure what to expect. I had the beef tenderloin and my husband had the short ribs and a Caesar salad. The food was hot when it arrived and was cooked to perfection. They even added a creme brûlée as a birthday dessert. We will definitely come here or do take out again!

Exceptional! Variety, quality, preparation, presentation - all significantly above the norm. We have driven past this place every day for the past two years and never knew it was there. Happened to go just by coincidence last evening. Now far and away our best dining experience in Guelph in the past five years. Very small - seats only about 30 - and was turning people away when we were there. It may be catching on! Grab a table while you can. Outstanding!

To celebrate our anniversary, we decided to order take-out from our favourite restaurant. The ribeye steak and the beef tenderloin were cooked to perfection. Our meals arrived hot and everything was delicious. We also ordered a Ceasar salad for one but there was plenty for both of us to share and the dressing was so good.
Tammy also included a creme brûlée as a special treat.
Thank you to Tammy and all her staff for an amazing meal.

My daughter was told about this place and she selected it for 10 of us to celebrate her Birthday. This was an excellent recommendation. Yes the place is small yet we had enclose section at the back which was great.. The service and food were amazing and we will certainly go back. The owner should be a comedian!! It was a great evening.

We ordered four delicious meals last night to celebrate our daughter and son-in-laws anniversary. Our meals arrived at 7:00 as promised. Everything was hot and so delicious. I was concerned about ordering a ribeye steak (medium) for takeout. I was not disappointed. My steak was cooked perfectly. We also ordered a Caesar salad for four. The dressing was amazing and there was lots of salad for everyone. Thank you to Tammy and her staff for an amazing dinner.

Comfortable, unpretentious and spotlessly clean place for lunch or dinner. Ron, owner/chef and his crew deliver freshly prepared dishes every time. Tammy, owner/hostess is most welcoming and attentive which enhances the whole dining experience. Remains great value for money and our go to place for a casual meal.

We've visited Queen's Cafe a couple of times and both visits were very good. Friendly staff and a very good menu for a small restaurant. The specials are excellent. It can be chilly when guests forget to close the door when leaving. They are only open for lunch and dinner, closed in between. Due to the small size, recommend calling for a reservation on the weekend.

Fantastic meal and service! My husband and I had our best restaurant meal ever last night. Started with flavourful bruschetta bread and melt in your mouth main course meals (salmon and beef short ribs). Finished with moist carrot cake. The presentation of the meals were elegant and the service was friendly and attentive. 5+ out of 5. Will be back again!

My wife suggested Queen's Cafe and it was an inspired suggestion for our first visit. I have returned there with friends and my first impression was confirmed. Queen's Cafe is a very Canadian restaurant: simple atmosphere, excellent quality food; great non fussy service and reasonable price. Everything I like. Plus it is not far from my house. I always try to go there but they are not open for lunch.

I claim this place has the best beef in Guelph. They have a pretty diverse menu but the tenderloin is so amazing I have never tried the rest of the tempting choices. This is definitely a hidden gem. Quiet atmosphere, good service. Also good for pickup and delivery.

We went to Queens Cafe for our New Years dinner. The food as usual was excellent of highest quality hot and delicious. The staff are friendly as the owner of the restaurant comes by your table for a chat. A very homey feeling and oh the desserts great. Gary
