Excellent service! The cocktail menu had great variety; my friend and I ended up sharing a pitcher of sangria and it was delicious. It was a very Rainy and cold evening and we really wanted something that felt “home-y”. Well this was the perfect place....We Both ended up having pasta dishes (VERY filling) after sharing their fried dough. The fried dough is 10000% better than crazy bread from little caesars. Both pastas were delicious. I would highly recommend this place but make sure you have reservations or show up early to get a table!More

A group of 7 of us walked in on a Saturday night around 730pm and were seated promptly, which was great. I wish I could rate higher, because the atmosphere was nice and so were some of the meals my party got, but mine was...disappointing. Dreamy Zucchini pizza -- next to zero zucchini on it. Sliced so thinly it could barely be tasted. I love goat cheese but this overpowered my pizza and didn't reheat well at all. Shouldn't name a pizza after something you barely put on it. Add more zucchini, please. Like, at least 2x more. It was barely there. Sangria -- disappointed. Ordered the pitcher. Too carbonated and next to no wine. Had I known it was going to be so watered down I'd have ordered something else. Due to both of these things and the array of choice in the area, I likely won't return.More

Our second time at Moody's, this time for date night. Location / Atmosphere 4/5 Located in the trendy Hess Village area of Hamilton it's a great location for the younger crowd. The restaurant is on the small side and is more of a fun, college/university...hangout type vibe. Food 4/5 I really like the pizza here, the Mac Daddy (dissembled big Mac in pizza form) is the best one. It really tastes like a big Mac and even is drizzled (or rather drenched) in mac sauce. It's great to share. We got the brussel sprouts (awesome) to start, they come with bacon chunks. We also got a chicken Parm to share, pretty good but the nearly the best we've had. Service 4/5 A bit of an issue with the credit card machine but besides that Excellent service like usual. Value 4/5 Pretty much going rate for a hipster place in Hess. Not the cheapest place for pizza but the food is good so I have no issue spending a few more bucks.More

Enjoyed good food and drinks at this pub style restaurant. The service was slow to take our orders though.

The pizza was delicious! As for the wings.. meh. Could have been better. We ordered the cajun/garlic and it had no flavour what so ever. Also pretty pricy as you only get seven wings.

I had one of my favourite pizzas of all time at Moody’s. It was four of us and we all split 3 pizzas for a late lunch. One was a Bic Mac pizza and tbh who cares what the other two were because it’s all...you need to order! Food 5/5 The pizza is in between think and thick crust. Most people who call it thick but I’d like thicker. It was fairly crispy which is good to hold onto all the toppings without it flopping around. I’d say choose the kind of pizza that appeals to your tastes. But I’ll also say you’re crazy if you don’t get the Big Mac Pizza. They covered all the details...there is a sesame seed crust which I lovedddd, the toppings mimic a Big Mac (ground beef, lettuce, pickle, Big Mac sauce, etc). It actually really tastes like a Big Mac. Service 3/5 Service was really slow the day we went and it wasn’t busy either. It’s a small place but they seem to favour people drinking alcohol which is annoying. Location/Atmosphere 4/5 Right in Hess Village which is a trendy area of downtown Hamilton frequented by students and hipsters. Small place and very cramped inside but worth it to get that pizza. Value 4/5 Considering it’s a trendy spot it’s not that pricey. The quality is pretty good so skip the pizza chain and check out Moody’s!More

I often look for places to take my girls for pizza and to enjoy that pizzeria sit down family time, moodys took care of that for us. The kids were curious about the Mac Daddy, their version of thy classic big Mac sandwich, it delivered.....The kids and I thoroughly enjoyed it. We also had the special, a pepperoni for $7.99 I believe, and they also gobbled that up too. Overall the staff was friendly, everything came out quickly and the prices were fair. I'll have to come back when arcade is open upstairs.More

Honestly, I have never written a review for any restaurant before, so bare with me if there’s a specific way of going about it. Last night I thought I’d bring my mom and brother out for a nice dinner at a new place that looked...absolutely delicious and rad on Instagram . I mean the place has an arcade upstairs ! Well, here’s how the night went... Once we arrived there was a pleasant woman who seated us and took our orders - no issues so far. About 30 min we finally get our 1 appetizer, chicken wings . They were nice a little more dry rub on it could have been nice . Before our main comes out our used dishes from the appetizer still hasn’t been picked up and not once have we been checked upon for maybe drinks or even if we’re doing okay. 20-30 minutes later our main courses finally comes out. The servers have now changed and the woman who presented us our food was an absolute nightmare . Once we got our food my mom with no attitude at all was just inquiring about the dipping sauce that came with the pizza. “ sorry,Is there dipping sauce that comes with “ this ?” What happens next was just the start of the terrible service , the server . I.KID. YOU. NOT says “ yeah I know I only have two hands “ - not in the jokingly friendly way that MIGHT be able to get away with as “humour” BUT in a very rude irritated way, like my mom had being giving her heck all night and is now giving some sort of a complaint . Once the server left we all looked at each other dumbfounded asking if all of us heard what she just said . So we decided to bite our tongue and move on . Then my brother bites into his what seems like thin potatoe skin chips ... they are rock hard and have no sort of warmth to them at all...the same ever so “lovely” server comes back and we mention “hey these are really cold” .. she grabs the chips and rolls her eyes so apparent that this is such a hassle for her. Shortly after we have the woman who seated us address that the chips come cold like that, there’s no way it can be served hot or even warm... O.K , sure . She was nice about it and mentioned a percentage being taken off the specific meal. However where the hell is our server and why wasn’t she the one to refer this message? My mom ordered a pizza and it was so oily and greasy to the point where you pick up the slice and it’s jusr drooping and hanging there with no support what’s so ever, on top of that the pizza is definitely not fully cooked - considering the crust of the pizza tasted like raw dough. We didn’t address this issue because thus far it’s apparent the servers want nothing to do with making our experience a pleasant one . My spaghetti and meatball was okay, my mom really enjoyed it so she had at it . So to conclude , bad service or bad food what’s worse? In this scenario both were equally bad. This was a very disappointing experience and it makes me not want to check out new upncoming restaurants that look good on social media because once you get there you’ve felt like you’ve been “food fished” - you know like “cat fish” but with food . -ha That concludes the experience , if you read it cool if not hey I guess I got some peace of mind for speaking my peace . Cheers!More

Moody's is a great pub/restaurant in the Hess Village neighbourhood of Hamilton, Ont. My wife and I are regular customers and always find the service, food, drinks and atmosphere inviting and consistent. They also have a full-blown, right outta 1985, video and pinball arcade upstairs...which has it's own bar. Boozy Slushpuppies are available in the arcade and great pizza by the slice. Try any of their signature cocktails and the brussel sprouts...More

I think it would be but it would depend on the day. Moodys is a bar in Hess which means I probably wouldnt suggest it if the party had to happen on a Friday or Saturday night. It might get a bit rowdy otherwise.
