I was just in the area doing some errands and popped in here for some lunch. The location is in a busy area on Upper James and it can sometimes be a bit difficult to get here if you're trying to make a left hand...turn depending on the time of day. This is a historic Wendy's because it is the location of the first Wendy's in Canada. (Hamilton is a first for these things, having the first Tim Horton's too). There is a plaque near the door stating just that. The restaurant itself has gone through a recent (and much needed) remodel, which has made the service far more efficient, this place used to be notoriously slow. The food is typical for Wendy's, but one of the things I like is their drink dispensing machine which lets you have dozens of different options like a Raspberry Coke or a Vanilla Barq's Rootbeer. I am giving this a 5 star because out of all the fast food places such as Mcdonalds, Burger King, etc. I find that Wendy’s has the best fast food based on chicken strips. I am chicken strips fan. I always order the chicken strip...combo with the sweet and sour sauce, it is delicious. Their frostys are also very good, especially when they had the butterfinger frosty(don’t know if they still have that).More

When I want a burger fast I like Wendy's baconator, fries and a frosty. My hubby likes a tripple cheese with bacon combo. The fries are so good. Service is usually quite fast.

They totally stripped out the old building and build a nice fresh restaurant. Yes it is fast food but it delivers what you want, food you expected with consistent quality, quaikly and with good service.

I was hungry and they helped me to get what I needed in my way. I hadn't had a vanilla Froster in a while.

This was the first Wendys in Canada and was recently upgraded to the latest corporate design. Now, instore customers do not play second fiddle to drive through customers as is the case with most fast food places.

I think it's wonderful to dine at the original Wendy's and they have a wonderful little lady on staff I think of as Mrs.Claus she is a delight and still working!Plus who doesn't enjoy a Junior Bacon cheeseburger and a great milkshake!
