Service was attentive and friendly. We ordered Kale ceasar to start which was excellent tender springs of fresh kale and the homemade dressing was outstanding flavours. Traditional tomato base ( meatless ) sauce was delish and pasta was cooked perfectly.

An old timey restaurant with great service and wonderful food. Didnt give it 5 stars due to the sketchy area of town but no worries!

My Nona passed away some time ago now... She was from Regusa, Sicily, and she made the best sauces and pasta I've ever had. Nothing has come close to her cooking for me. Trocadero did not only match her food's authenticity... but, with kind service,...and a sense of familia, it was like I was back with Nona in her apartment. And, just like Nona, they sent me home with a wave, a smile on my face, and a full belly. Thank you for the nostalgia. I'd love to come back :)More

This place was a gem many years ago a place my family would go for special occasions. We had booked a private room for 40 people last night and the service was dismal. They were to expect us to arrive at 6:30 the menu was...preset so one would assume the meal would have been ready by at least 7pm WRONG closer to 7:45 and don’t even ask about our drinks some of us are still waiting! The waitress and waiter couldn’t figure out how to take a drink order let alone allow us to pay and get the hell out of there. I ended up leaving $60 on a drink order of $45 because it was to painful to watch her calculate the change. Needless to say I would not recommend as for the food it was adequate nothing like I remember. Maybe with more efficient staff the night would have flowed more smoothly.More

My husband, myself and our out of town friends had the pleasure of dining at the Trocadero Saturday night and as always it was delicious and quicker than the past too! the wagjag deal brought us in again and it is a good deal with...good food and great service again from Lois, Tony and Mary. We had the seafood pasta, chicken and veal and we were all happy with our choices as well as some yummy dessert. Great idea to try it out if you have not been for awhile or 1st time. Call for reservations as can get busy. RoseMore

This restaurant is only open Fri. and Sat., 5-11 pm. We had vouchers and ordered the veal and pasta on the limited menu. The pasta was fine but the veal was very small. The evening was a little too expensive for the food even with...the coupon. Don't waste your time. Also, there was no parking.More

It was not busy. One large party of 12 and a couple of two-tops. Soup was flavorless. Antipasto plate was a reasonable value, as was wine by the glass. Table service at the novice level. They did not notice long empty glasses. We had to...wave down someone for a second drink while still waiting for our meals 90 mins after we arrived. We noticed that some people in the large party were still waiting for their meals while most offered had already finished. The food arrived hot but the portion-size for the veal was tiny, the breadding was soggy on the bottom and the marsala sauce was congealing. The vegetables, a mixture of cut beans, broccoli, carrots, etc., were over cooked to the point of being easily mushed with a fork. No one asked how are meals were, indeed we couldn't get eye contact from the staff entering the dining room, so with no time left to go anywhere else before we needed to be home, we ate. My partner was equally disappointed with his manicotti. When the bill came and we were asked how things were I expressed my disappointment. We were offered and apology and explanation they were having trouble in the kitchen. Charged us full price. Sad that this reportedly classic Hamilton gem was so disappointing. With so many other great dining options in town, we will not be back.More

After years of driving by, I finally booked a reservation. Was seeing a movie nearby and took advantage of it. Parking is decent. Meters and free parking on side streets. Not the best end of town, but hey, it was there in the 1940's when things...were rolling. The front sign has just been fixed after an electrical fire in 2014. Decor is old school, but that's what i expected. Bigger than I thought. There is a Hall to the right side of the Dining Room. Something that resembles Nonna's Basement. There is even a basement, but no one goes there anymore...I tried to sample everything I could. The chef, 75 years old and counting, makes it all herself. Meatballs, sugo, arancini, sausage, calamari, soup, salad, garlic bread and pasta. Homemade and it tastes like it.Only open Fridays and Saturdays. Try WagJag as well. I'm gonna go back.More
