Never disappoints. There attentive and quick. The food is just so tasty. I have had the chicken shawarma sandwich, salad and pizza. Next will be the chicken shawarma and rice. Thanks guys !!

Carlos has been our favourite go to pizza for 20 years. Once we moved to the mountain, friends recommended them. We have followed them to all their locations.

Worst customer experience ever!! And then they blame you.

I am absolutely appalled at my experience with poppi’s pizza. I ordered takeout, and once I fed my kids and reheated my cold panzerotti I started to eat. I realized that they made a mistake on the toppings and when I called to inform them the guy who answered the call (same person who took my order) then proceeded to insinuate that I misspoke when ordering and not that they made a mistake while taking the order. He offered to deliver it, but because it so late I said I would rather have a credit or a refund as I had to prepare my kids for bedtime, and it was not a good time. He also then accused me of lying simply to get free stuff, and after getting frustrated with the constant accusations i questioned his customer service and he told me I was not the kind of customer he wanted. So good riddens. Don’t order from here because if they make a mistake they will blame it on you, and don’t care to rectify the situation. Not once did he even take ownership for his mistake or apologize. And I’ll add a photo to show them they put bacon and not mushroom as REQUESTED.

Lisa, You’re leaving out several important details. Here’s our side of the story: Like most businesses, we only issue refunds or credits without takebacks if it is absolutely clear that we are at fault. If there is even a slight doubt as to who made a mistake, we will gladly issue a replacement, refund, or credit if the item is returned to us (either by you dropping it off in person or us coming to your address to pick it up at no additional charge, depending on whatever’s most convenient for you). The takeback is to ensure that the item is thrown out and to prevent “two-for-one” or “freebie” deals as some unscrupulous customers attempt. This is no different to a big box store asking for a defective item to be returned to issue a replacement or refund. If we don’t have proof, all someone has to do in that case is give us a call and claim anything to receive free items. For large chain restaurants with massive profit margins, giving in to demanding customers might be less of a headache for upper management, but we cannot do that as a small family-owned business. People can and have done so in the past much to the detriment of our ability to turn a profit and pay our bills. We refuse to be taken advantage of. That being said, we at Carlo’s do make mistakes from time to time, as all humans do. We do repeat the order in an efficient manner as the customer is ordering, not all regurgitated at once at the end of the call when you’re likely to tune out or miss something. We do in fact resolve these issues on a regular basis to the satisfaction of the vast majority of our customers. To be clear, we did NOT say you were “lying to get free food” or make any other accusations; we only said that we have to treat you as we treat everyone else. We expect you, as a rational and understanding customer, to behave as all other rational and understanding customers do. You ordered a large pizza with bacon and half pepperoni, a panzerotti with (what was noted down as) *bacon* and pepperoni, and a large poutine. It is entirely possible that we did make a mistake in taking your order down, as we did admit on your callback. However, it is also entirely possible that you misspoke: instead of asking for ‘mushroom’ in your panzerotti, you likely—as we remember—repeated the toppings for the pizza you had just ordered without realizing. Since they both have pepperoni, the toppings were probably freshly primed in your memory in that order: pepperoni, bacon. (It is not uncommon for customers to misspeak: for example, at least once a week, we get a request for “green onions” but the customer always means to say ‘green peppers’ or ‘white onions,’ not ‘scallions.’ We sometimes hear “green mushrooms” as well; all without the customer realizing what they’re saying until we point it out to them and ask for clarification). We tried to do everything in our power to help you return the panzerotti, even offering to come to your address to pick it up, as you mentioned. However, you gave us several excuses to hinder us (“I have to put my children to bed,” “I ate the poutine and am no longer hungry,” “I already ate with my family and don’t want to eat alone” [on your callback, you did not mention anything about feeding your children first and then having to reheat your panzerotti], “I can’t take a few seconds to answer the door for the delivery driver,” and so on). We did apologize at the beginning of the call but, as you said, we became less apologetic as you became fairly rude and demanding and unwilling to work with us. So yes, we do not want you as a repeat customer if that is how you’re going to treat us. –CP&G P.S. In the intro line of your review, you called us “Poppi’s Pizza,” our fellow pizzaioli friends down the street from us. If you confuse something as fundamental as the name of the very pizzeria you’re reviewing without realizing, can you really be certain that you mentioned the correct toppings when you ordered?

I have ordered from Carlo’s many times, and am always satisfied! Everything I’ve ordered has been great. If I could change one thing, it would be the hot sauce for the chicken wings. It tastes like ketchup. Other than that, I highly recommend Carlo’s!!

I've had their pizza, shawarma and falafel, and all are well done. Note: mango curry sauce on the falafel is really good. First recommended to me by a neighbour of their first location a few years ago, I've been a regular customer ever since whenever in the neighbourhood. Ingredients are fresh, pizza crust is great, and their garlic dip is yogurt-based- something different but good. Service is pretty good- staff are not chatty but are efficient and ETAs are accurate. Prices are very competitive. Recommended over any chain on the East Mountain.

Always get great pizza here and the prices are very reasonable. On weekends make sure you order at least 45 minutes before you sis to eat .....they are very busy.

This small pizza and grill shop still surprises me after many years. The pizza is always tasty and consistent. (IE not under done one time, over done another) This is a family run and operated enterprise where everyone there works hard. The menu items other than pizza are quite varied and have flavor as well. This is our "go to" pizza place. Many of the people I have suggested Carlo's Pizza & Grill are still going there too. (So, it's not just me). I wish they were open on Sunday's, BUT... everyone deserves a day off...

Ordered pizza and wing combo for "lupper" (lunch/supper). They have a good selection of combo deals at really good prices. Had an extra-large double pepperoni pizza and mild wings (saucy and crispy). Pizza was delicious (always is from here) and wings were very good too; done just the way I asked. They have a very good poutine, and have heard they have amazing shawarma (based on a family member's recommendation). Never disappointed by the pizza from here for sure!
