Truly excellent sushi! Best teriyaki chicken my husband said he’d ever had. Tempura shrimp ‘Dynamite’ rolls were fantastic. Not a glamorous-looking place, but charming staff, lovely service and great food. Be warned - portions are pretty large☺️

I've ordered take out often from Sima Sushi. Always fresh and always delicious, so I decided to order an assortment for a 5 person dinner. I ordered at 1pm for pick up at 6:30pm. It was warm and right on time. Wow it was all...Fantastic! The Sashimi were the largest and freshest pieces I've eaten, and the Age Dashi Tofu was a huge hit. You made it a perfect dinner party Thank you Sima Sushi! DavidMore
The sushi here is so fresh and flavourful! Great ambiance and good for lunch as well. This place is usually packed at lunch and there is never enough staff working. But been coming back for years because the sushi is so damn good!
Throughout these 2 Covid years we have relied on & greatly appreciated picking up Sima Lunch Sets for a fantastic afternoon meal! Sometimes we save the sashimi for a pre dinner snack as the portions are very generous. DELICIOUS!!
Excellent and VERY fresh Sushi and Sashimi . Restaurant is on small size so difficult to find table, especially since they do not accept reservations. Place is clean and service is friendly
I went to Sima Sushi with two friends. We all enjoyed various delicious dishes, very fresh, great service.
My family and I love the atmosphere at Sima Sushi! The food is excellent and is always crafted from ultra-fresh, quality ingredients and the ambiance with the exposed brick wall and original artwork is inspiring. The owners are extremely friendly and the wait staff and...sushi chefs are top-notch. Everyone I have ever taken to Sima always returns for more! I highly recommend this charming little place for take out or eat in!More
Busy place and they don't take reservations but the food is good and a nice selection. Downtown location.
I went to this restaurant with my girlfriend (who is a sushi addict) for lunch and we ordered a few of the vegetarian maki dishes. In total we had 36 rolls and some edamame beans and it was all came to under 40$. The waitress...was really helpful and let us know about which items were vegan and gluten free and they were very attentive the whole way through our lunch. It was so good we ended up coming back for dinner the next day! Would definitely recommend both for a cheap lunch or for a really nice dinnerMore
My earlier reviews of Sima are very positive but in my opinion, this sushi spot is going downhill fast. Kingstonians rave about it on here but there is a lot of competition in town now! Our recent lunch: my guy had his back to the...wall...me facing him so of course....the entire time we were there I got constantly bumped from behind every time a server passed. Feeling like I'm in a plane with a little kid kicking the back of my seat... Light lunch....had the tataki salmon which for the price must be farmed. The sauce was so great so I asked our server if she could have the chef tell her how they make it. She comes but with a big NOPE. OK....secret recipe I guess....... I carried my coat and scarf etc to the filthy "foyer"/ staircase to the restrooms to dress for the winter cold outside because the restaurant is just too crammed...didn't want to bump anyone like I'd been bumped. Tried to avoid looking at all the dirt on the floor/stairs & walls..More
Beyond excellent sushi. We drive over from the states at least 1-3 times a month just to eat their sushi! Excellent service and delicious grade of sushi. They also have brown rice.
I ordered the Sima lunch set today. Very good and fresh. Not a tone of space to sit but staff were great.
Excellent Sushi. Very fresh and tasty. Only issue is it is very difficult to find a table, they do not take reservations.
I went to school in Kingston and this remains my favourite sushi place of all time. The yam tempura roll is the best! I still go back every time I visit Kingston and the place hasn’t changed a bit- still a gem!
Don’t go unless you like to spend 30 mins waiting for the sushi you’ve ordered off of the ‘lunch’ menu and like your sushi and sashimi rubbery, warm and utterly tasteless. What a bad experience - room was cramped, servers kept on squeezing in between...the tables and putting their bums in our faces, not nice, ambience was plain, washrooms had mechanical issues, etc. Miso soup had zero flavour, ginger was like paper, etc. Avoid at all costs - you’ll thank me for it!More
