Got some quarantine take out fish and chips. The place has a really cute nautical theme which will be nice once you can eat in. Service was great and they made sure we had what we needed. Fish was tasty and fresh from the fryer!
We have had fish and chips take out from a number of other specialty fish restaurants in Kingston, but never satisfied with the quality or quantity vs. price . A relative recommended take out from Captain George's. The special (fish and chips, shrimp, onion rings,...salad) we got today was excellent. Actually as good as some U.K. chippies. The batter remained crispy even with a car ride home, and the portions were more than substantial.
I would recommend the Amherstview Captain George's outlet without hesitation.More
Normally I am not a fish and chips, but for the second time I visited Captain George's Fish and Chips Kingston and was just as impressed with the good service, good flavor of my one ( 1 ) piece of Halibut and chips.
Although I...felt the size of the piece of fish seemed smaller than the last time I was visited this location, but maybe is my memory, however I would have enjoyed it much better if it had been a little bit larger. My luncheon companion's lunch was a full plate and by the way he was eating it, it was good tasting.
All in all, I don't have a problem with this restaurant, it was clean bright and good service. I know I will be returning at a later date.More
Went to this place with a small group from work. The food was ready in a very fast time and it was good. I had one piece fish and chips and I couldn't finish the plate, ate all the fish but not the fries. The...staff are very friendly.More
We actually went to the one in Amherstview, Ontario but its too new to have a site on here I think. We ordered take out orders of 2 pieces of haddock each and one french fry to share. The fish was very tasty and the...frys were okay. However, no lemon and no tartar sauce????? That seems criminal to me. I didn't find out until I got home so too late to go back. What a drag! Our first time trying it and a bit disappointed. Probably won't do it again :( Sorry!More
Friend and I popped in while doing errands in Kingston mid-afternoon during the week. Greeted warmly, and excellent friendly service continued throughout our visit. We both had a one-piece haddock fish and chips with cole slaw. Served fast and hot, the fish was delicious, nice...crispy batter, tender fish with good taste and consistency. Nice fries, done properly in oil but not greasy. Cole slaw was also good, a mix between creamy and vinegar. Price was great, $12.95. Bright family diner atmosphere, not pubby or roadhouse. All about the food and service. Will be back to try the cod and halibut...More
