Superb ambiance with warm woods and complementary limestone walls and iron accents. The food was exceptional. As a pescatarian this restaurant checks all the boxes for me …scallops, avocado, Brussel sprouts, shrimp , cod, etc. lots of meat choices for carnivores as well. Our server...Meghan(so) was perfect. Engaging, informative, friendly and she was able to time the delivery of our tapas plates at precisely the right moment.More

First time in a few years that'd we'd been back to Kingston for dinner and were looking forward to our return visit to Tango Nuevo. There were 3 adults in our party and we had reservations. PROS: Seated immediately; attentive waitstaff; a generous table/seating arrangement;...the most attractive restaurant design in the city. CONS: The jug of (red) "sangria" was filled to the brim with ice, as were our glasses; it was a light pink colour vs. a deeper red and tasted like fruit juice with a splash of wine; the fresh fruit had clearly not been macerated in the wine and I couldn't identify any of liqueurs that the menu promised. Pulled out as much ice as my side plate would hold so it wouldn't further dilute, but that didn't help...VERY disappointing! Great sangria is key to the tapas experience. A limited, not-very-exciting wine list. In lieu of the sad sangria, we settled for a couple of 9 ounce glasses of a red from Spain which was 'meh' at best, a house wine, really. Heavy-handed with the "aioli" sauce. 6 tapas plates + 2 "tiramisu" + 2 glasses of red = $247.00 including a generous tip and tax. Note: this is the total after the jug of sangria was removed from our bill.More

My partner and I discovered this amazing gem tonight! The warm ambience coupled with amazing, personable staff was our introduction... then came the food! Marinated beet salad, sauteed green beans, patates bravis, and asian pork ribs..each an incredible taste sensation! This was our first visit...and we will most certainly be revisiting soon!More

My partner and I frequently go out to eat but since it is New Years we decided to pick a place we thought was special. For New Years they have a set menu which is a four course meal for $90. The portions were small...which is expected for a higher end restaurant but with it being higher end you expect it to be higher quality as well. The salad was quite plain, the scallops were uneven sizes and in my opinion could have used an additional scallop, the lamb tacos were also underwhelming. The food was good but was not good enough for the level of restaurant we were at. We discussed and agreed that the restaurant was a 4/5 stars in various categories but 3/5 for value. Leaving us to rate the restaurant 3.5/5. Because the bill was a large amount and we were somewhat disappointed with our meal we didn’t leave a large tip. When the waitress saw the tip she put it on the table and walked away without saying anything. Which was quite rude as you shouldn’t expect a tip but rather earn one but that’s a whole discussion on its own. However, it gets worse. Our 5minute drive home was spent arguing over who gets to use the bathroom first because we were both going to $hit ourselves. As we have one bathroom we had to keep swapping out. After 30minutes our $250 meal was down the drain. Which leads us to conclude this experience to be a 2/5 stars. This was a rather fitting way to end a $hitty year.More

Oh my the chefs here are really on the ball with hitting the right spot for the ultimate dining experience. The waitress that we had she was amazing also really on the ball experience had good knowledge of the tapas menu and the wine selection...also. We had first a special scallops with purée potatoes and wine sauce melted in your mouth was impressive tastes, then we moved onto the octopus which I’m not a big fan of but again was impressive tastes they had served really well with feta picked onion house made very good, next was Spicy beef comes with 4 soft shell tacos wow all l can say is I’m enjoying my self so much with the tastes next was Thai cod curry and yet again wow cod seared perfectly loving this then because of all the spices I thought that lamb kebab served with soft tacos sweet would be the perfect end to the meal and yes hit the spot perfectly I also explained to the waitress that we didn’t want a dessert but we took the lamb just to ease away from all the spices and flavour that was outstanding. I would happily go back again and again throughly enjoyed.More

First evening, Oct 15th was exceptional. This unique, cozy Tapas restaurant was so well represented by our waiter David, friendly and very well versed with food and wine menu. He made excellent recommendations and we loved every dish. We then cancelled reservations for another restaurant...for Oct 16 and came again to Nuevo. David was not our server but took time to come over and welcome us back. Highly recommend this wonderful restaurantMore

This is the best place in Kingston for a celebratory dinner, whether the celebration is big or small or just celebrating getting together with old friends. The service is always phenomenal, attentive while not being over-bearing. The cocktails and wine are perfect and the atmosphere...is always second to none. The food is AMAZING. Every dish is so flavorful and makes you appreciate every element. Although this restaurant is not inexpensive, it is worth it to treat yourself.More

For those who enjoy “grazing” the tapas menu is ideal. Everything is offered as a small plate to share with the table. The Sambal Shrimp and Lamb Tacos were excellent, flavourful, a hint of spice, very enjoyable. The Turkish ravioli on the other hand were...bland, and the Mediterranean Eggplant was tasty, but the skin left on was bitter and chewy. Some excellent choices on the charcuterie plate. Each plate runs around $20. Overall, a nice way to spend several hours getting caught up with friends we haven’t seen in a very long time.More
