We dined on the patio with reservations in advance. People were sitting apart and the wait staff was friendly and accommodating with our kids’ food preferences. Although the ambiance feels casual (especially on the patio, next to the nearby pub with the loud music), the service and quality of the food do not disappoint. A Kingston classic!

went to chez piggy (with a reservation) on a friday night for a special celebration dinner. pretty lit courtyard entrance, beautiful restaurant/building. lovely seating upstairs, more a bar/restaurant downstairs. great service. had the scallops/black rice which was phenomenal. an item to mention is that the rice/scallops were served with asparagus, but the cut up pieces in the dish didn't equal even 1 full stalk.......i know this as my daughter doesn't eat asparagus i ate hers! also, management should update the menu on their website re; wines and their prices ie; website listing 750ml bottles of wine for less than $30 but in house restaurant prices were very different (much higher with different wines listed)

Booked ahead for lunch. Masks and Sanitizing of hands before entry mandatory. A short wait as our table was cleaned and sanitized. A bowl of water was brought for our pup without asking. The oysters were fresh, sweet and perfectly chilled. My perfectly cooked gluten free pasta was a bit bland but the addition of smoked salmon kicked it up. My husband’s babette steak was cooked to his liking and the horseradish butter was delicious. Frites were delicious.

We try to support local restaurants as much as possible and Chez Piggy's is a lovely establishment, especially the outdoor patio. It is disappointing though that there plant-based menu is limited and overpriced. The cauliflower dish, while incredibly tasty, is not worth $31! Considering what is going on in the world right now, restaurants should be offering more ethical and sustainable options for customers.

I had heard just great reviews, so couldn't pass up the opportunity to have a lunch at Chez Piggy. It was a lovely day so we sat out in the patio. Unfortunately, we were pestered by wasps. Given the name of the restaurant, I wanted to try a pork dish, but the waiter recommended the daily special (a thai salad with beef strips) sound mouth watering, so I tried it instead. The salad had great flavors. Unfortunately for me, the beef was tough. We also ordered their fries with garlic aoli dip, and although they were delicious, the fries were overcooked for my liking ( close to burnt). We had a delicious white wine with the meal. The service was excellent. I didn't get to see the bill, but having studied the menu, know it was over $60 for 2.

I got the chance to dine at Chez Piggy for the first time this weekend and it was excellent from start to finish. The hosting staff was warm and welcoming to me and my friends. Our server Neeraj took extremely good care of us; he was helpful, knowledgable, kind, easy to talk with, and really put us at ease. The safety precautions were better than I've seen anywhere else without feeling overly oppressive. The atmosphere is excellent, with an historic vibe that feels uniquely Kingston but still hip. The bread basket from Pan Chancho was a great start (especially a lovely olive bread they served). I enjoyed the mussels, the frites, and a house made lime tonic that was also delicious. The creme brûlée for dessert was one of the best I've had. One of my friends is a pescatarian and he was able to get a great meal as well. Overall it was such a delightful experience. The reason for our trip was a somewhat sad one and we were hesitant about eating in dining rooms at all, but the team at Chez Piggy made us feel very comfortable and certainly brightened our moods.

Five women went in on a Thursday night and the place was really set up for the pandemic. I had eaten a ridiculous amount of cheese and crackers before we got there so I wasn't enthused about ordering a main course,so I ordered the soup and a beet and avocado salad. The lentil soup was really outstanding. Unfortunately I was let down drastically by the salad I mentioned to the server that I was allergic to walnuts, but not almonds or peanuts or pistachios so basically I got a lot of avocado uninspiring vinaigrette and a magnificent huge cooked beet sliced.. I didn't finish it. I'm a retired Chef. Hopefully next time it'll be just as good as usual

Chez Piggy has long been a go to location for a good meal in Kingston and we were thrilled to find out that while camping in the area, our dog was welcome to join us outside in the courtyard at lunch time. Thea was our server and she was terrific - helpful and friendly and brought a bowl of water for our dog. The food was delicious - we almost wanted to lick the plates. The Cha Gio and Trout Salad was memorable. Would not hesitate to recommend and definitely will return.

I love eating from this restaurant because of the high quality ingredients and imagination that went into creating the dishes. They do have smaller portions than your average restaurant but the quality of the food makes it worth it. Staff are friendly and I love that the cutlery is made of bamboo and not plastic.

Its been almost a year before I could write this review - I visited just shy of a year ago with a friend that was fighting cancer and has since passed. Chez Piggy was her suggestion - she loves French food and everything was as she had remembered the last time she was there. We went for brunch on a Sunday morning on a very unusual weekend in November (in Canada!!!) that was balmy and warm like a day in September of October. We sat on the patio and enjoyed a yummy mimosa and eggs benny. I would highly recommend a visit. The staff was friendly and while they were busy - we didn't feel rushed.

We went on a recommendation of a friend of mine who’d not be there for a long time. The first time was an attempt with a friend on Sunday evening prior to Labor Day. No reservation, it was full, and the next sitting at 9:30 pm as well. Very kindly we were offered a sitting for the next day. As I was hesitant because I was then supposed to have my dog with me, I mentioned it, and very kindly, was told that there was no problem on the terrasse where they had tables where they could accommodate us. So we reserved for 1 pm on Labor Day. On Labor Day, we came back, three of us plus the dog and had a wonderful lunch. The place was packed again, and we were advised that unfortunately we only had 1:30 minutes before the next reservation. We got served great food in a very timely manner (unfortunately, they had ran out of one of the items I had ordered, that proved only that the food I fresh). The dog had his corner and some fresh water in a bowl that proved that they were really used to dogs. Actually, he was not the only one there. Great place, great food, great service, I’ll go back for sure.

Went for lunch with a friend; looking to get use of the last few days to sit and enjoy a patio meal. The atmosphere was great, really fantastic, but the chairs could be more comfortable on the patio. Perhaps a cushion? Server was awesome! I ordered mussels, hold the hot chilies, but they were bland bland bland! She asked if I wanted the frites, (the normal accompaniment to mussels), and I said sure not realizing they were an additional $8 (on top of the $23 for mussels). WOW, some pricey fries, but glad I had them as they were the only thing with any flavour!

First of all I have to say the bread at this place is to die for, and comes with your meal. They have a sister restaurant/bakery nearby where the bread is baked fresh every day. Eat the bread you won't regret it. We ordered oysters too and they were super fresh. The service is definitely the best I've had in Kingston so you won't have any problems there! I was also here in August and there is outdoor seating during that time of year but obviously not when there's snow outside! Great place for a nice, fairly fancy meal (and reallllllly good bread)

Yikes. Good review but didn't hit the mark at all! Poor service - absolutely no eye contact or relationship with the server (maybe because of the automatic default 18% tip?) which I am happy to pay for Good Service! Over Priced - food was not excellent by any stretch, kinda average but prices were very high. Not acceptable. I do NOT recommend this restaurant.

A little hidden off the high street; we had been recommended to visit and glad we did. The staff were attentive and the menu and chef’s specials explained with enthusiasm. The food was good and the wine even better! Definitely worthy of a visit. Be aware when paying your bill there are options of gratuities given which were excessive. Ie 18%~25%. These can be changed on the hand held device. A fair gratuity is usually 10%.
