Family run restaurant. Brothers Mike and Rob were so friendly and gracious. We had excellent perch and chips. Very nice relaxed vibe located close to Point Pelee conservation area. Highly recommended.

My husband and I stopped at Freddy's during our trip to Point Pelee. We honestly were not expecting anything out of the ordinary. Boy, were we wrong!! The food was exceptional in every way. It was delicious, fresh and original. I think the chef should...compete on a cooking show, because his creativity and ability to make a variety of tasty food is amazing! One of the owners also stopped by the table to ensure everything was good. He mentioned that his cousin (or brother?) is the chef! Kudos to both!!More

Nice pub on the way to Point Pelee Park. We didn’t eat there so can’t comment on the food. Looked good though on adjacent tables. Had a nice house crafted beer on the patio. Very pleasant.

it was something like that on the owner's shirt who came around and chatted with us and other clients. That's small town hospitality. Our family of four visiting Leamington had a fantastic dinner here. Perch Dinner, Pickerel Dinner, Mediterranean Wrap & Chicken Kebab. The last...2 items we substituted our menu choices for the Fattoush salad (good decision as it was awesome). Extra charge... I don't know of any place that wouldn't once you stray from the given choices on the menu. Prices and portions are comparable to other places serving perch and pickerel. ie. Erie Beach in Port Dover. Some advice of those giving the poor reviews, if you can't afford to go out for dinner, stay home. Thank you for the wonderful experience and great food, I wouldn't hesitate to return.More

4 of us went to Freddy’s for dinner. We shared grape leaves and calamari. We loved the grape leaves and we all agreed that the calamari was the best we’ve ever had. 2 of us had pan fried perch. One of us had a burger,...and the fourth had a Kafka wrap. Each of us loved our food. The salads and fries were great also. The perch was not over cooked and was delicious. The Irish Mule cocktail was also great. We liked Freddy’s so much that we went back the next day for lunch!More

The Good: Location just outside the park is great while we were staying at Point Pelee National Park. We had the perch fish and chips (tasty but very small portions), and a falafel wrap (tasty but less filling in the wrap than you'd expect), and...two of their "house" beers. Service was very friendly. The Bad: It's very expensive for what it is. Our dinner was over $75 with tax and tip. The tap list is not listed, so we didn't see how much they were charging for a our two small beers until after, which felt a bit cheeky. I expected the perch portion to be small based on experiences elsewhere. (It's fresh local fish, etc.) I was a bit surprised there wasn't more veggies in the falafel wrap. Whether it's inflation or just tourist prices, be prepared. We enjoyed our visit but if you are cost conscious consider heading farther into town for cheaper options.More

The pieces of fish were incredibly small. Paid over $50 for dinner and will probably buy pizza later because left feeling hungry. That said, the bits of fish that I had were very good. If the portion had been bigger, it would have been a...great place.More

Ordered 2 beers and the blackened perch for lunch that came with fries for $27 and my husband had the perch sandwich with fries. We asked if we could switch out the fries for sweet potato fries and were told yes, no mention of extra...cost. My meal came with three tiny pieces/bites of lukewarm fish and the sweet potato fries. The bill came to $85 PLUS tip, they had charged $7 each to swap out the fries! Essentially the sweet potato fries cost $17 per person (as fries alone on the menu are $10).More

We are in beautiful Leamington this weekend visiting friends and family and were looking for a place with a patio. Someone in our group suggested that we visit Freddy's. I was very cautious about visiting this place given the reviews of the prices, service and...the general hostility of management if there is even a wiff of critique. We like many others on these reviews ordered the fish and chips and agree, very expensive for the portion served. The servers, god bless them, they worked their butts off. What was not excusable however is that 1 order of fish and chips was forgotten. Then a drink was missed. When we voiced our concerns to the waitress, she was annoyed that we were annoyed that we didn't receive parts of our order. The price vs value is not here at all and to find somewhere else. Before the owner questions my knowledge of the world and lack of staff or have I noticed that prices have escalated everywhere. I'm fully aware. However to ridicule paying customers on here, attempting to make them feel stupid is incredibly unprofessional and makes you question if they are deserving of your business.More

We stopped by on a Wednesday night and the patio was almost full. I had the 3 piece pan fried perch dinner with sweet potato fries and my partner had the special of the day - a lamb shank with mashed potatoes and gravy. The...fish was really good - fresh and perfectly cooked. The sweet potato fries were good but are from frozen, not fresh. The lamb shank was cooked slowly and fall-off-the-bone tender. While it was OK, the mashed potatoes didn't really work with the dish as well as roast potatoes or rice pilaf would have. Our waiter was friendly although neglected to tell us the lamb special was $40 (we should have asked but overheard other waiters telling their table the price and we would have ordered something else if we had known) and when asked if they have a cider, said no, but then offered Somersby which is a cider. Maybe inexperience. We found it pricey -- the perch was $3 extra to have it pan fried instead of deep fried (for what?) and the sweet potato fries were an additional $6.50 instead of regular fries and were cooked properly but came out of a bag. Overall, I think the food is good but if you are concerned about prices, they add up too quickly for a little place not in a high rent area.More

Terrible service, broken chairs, lost orders and extremely over priced. The worst part was the lax staff who were disorganized and slow. The staff was very slow to take our orders. The food came out in pairs and one set of orders were completely lost!...Thus the rest of the group of 12 were finished eating before the last two had their meal. The portions were very small and over priced. $24 for two 3” fish tacos with fries! $15 for a small side salad The staff were unprofessional and poorly trained. I will not go back.More

Because of food allergies, I rarely walk into a restaurant without talking to them first. This time I made an exception based on other reviews and their tags that suggested they have gluten free and vegan options. The highlight of that decision was a staff...member who went above and beyond to help me figure out what I could eat safely, which I did. Unfortunately the only thing I could eat was a $40 steak that was burnt rather than well done with a small side salad of lettuce, tomato and cucumber, with a bit of oil to dress it with. While this was what they could do given my allergies, we were shocked that they still charged me $40 for what they cobbled together. As people who rarely splurge on a fancy dinner, this was a regrettable experience. Nevertheless, I would not discourage a person without food limitations from eating here. I just won’t be back ever again myself and would caution others who may think like I did that this would be a good option given their food limitations.More
