Excellent service and food. The staff was very friendly and offered great suggestions. The food was even better. Blackened perch was excellent. Good beers. Nice local atmosphere.

Good food, friendly servers, and nice patio overlooking Lake Erie with dog friendly service. After dinner we went next door for ice cream dessert.
Thank you so much for the review
We are traveling Lakes Erie and Ontario and made our first post pandemic visit to the lovely marina at Leamington, Ontario CA. Wind and weather conspired to keep us here so as is our custom we began to explore, playing golf at Erie Shores and...then today cycling to Pelee Point National Park (well worth a visit). On the way out we saw Freddie's and decided that perch tacos sounded good for lunch so we stopped on the way back. What a great surprise! Local IPA brewed at the facility, lovely panko breaded perch with homemade cole slaw, tarter sauce, and french fries (and gravy). Everything hand made at the restaurant. A full menu and bar, although wines are a little limited. Great service (she even brought ice for my sore knee!). A good chat with one of the new(er) owners about the restaurant and his goals. An amazing find on a 32 km bike ride!!!More
Thank you so much for the wonderful review
After a busy day of hiking and experiencing Point Pelee National park, it was time for supper. They had lots of openings on their beautiful patio or inside but after being outside most of the day we opted for a booth inside. We were greeted...by an extremely friendly server and there were drinks immediately on our table. I ordered their house lager and my wife ordered their Caesar (which was dynamite btw) their house lager was crisp and refreshing and disappeared quickly-so quickly in fact I ordered another to be able to appreciate it more fully. I ordered their perch and fries dinner and my wife ordered their pickerel dinner with fries dinner - our kids ordered a poutine and a hamburger and fries. We started with their Greek salad and it was quite possibly one of the best I’ve had. Our dinners arrived fries were hot and crisp and the fish were expertly fried to perfection- lightly battered with panko and seasoned perfectly-nice and flaky not mushy the pickerel was expertly deboned Our server was attentive, friendly and checked back a few times to ensure everything was great We would definitely recommend it to anyone and will definitely return when we’re back in the area As always try it for yourself and you be the judgeMore
Thank you so much
Our family spent two weeks vacation at Pelee Point and I think we ate at Freddy's eight times..............you guessed it, we love the place. Freddy and his family are all so friendly you really do feel that "You are only a stranger once."
Worst experience at a restaurant in a very long time. We felt SCAMMED as we left the restaurant. We were there for lunch over the Canada Day Weekend - 2 children and 2 adults. We ordered calamari. All calamari were the size of a dime...or a nickel. (I have never been served calamari like that.) "Sauce" was plain mayo. Calamari was tasteless and we had to add a lot of salt to make it edible. No alcohol was ordered. 2 soft drinks and 2 waters. Other food was 2 wraps, substituting salad for the fries. Adult burger and fries. Poutine. Bill came to $167.00 with tip! We were charged $10.00 extra for each salad that we swapped out! This means that I paid 31.00 for a falafel and salad. The "salad" was a bowl full of romaine that was browning on the ends. My daughter described her burger as "hard". (not a good description!) It was also more a kids burger by the size of it. NOTHING like the photo here. Falafel was cold. The only food that was "ok" was the fries. Are you kidding me that that we paid $167 for this? Why were we not informed about the additional fees for the salads? This is why I describe the experience as being "scammed". Do not recommend! Avoid!More
Thanks again Chef Rob and host Mike for making our patio dinner so memorable. Delicious food and great alfresco. Also our dear waitress Kaylie is a top notch professional, accommodating and attention to details like a pro. We're blessed to have you as friends and...to have a special restaurant to go to. We recommend everyone to experience the same so just go and see for yourselfMore
Service was very pleasant. Food was delivered in a timely manner. Grilled chicken wrap, sort of Greek style. It was ok. Tzatiki sauce was kind of watered down. Hardly any feta in the wrap. Way too many fries. Husband got Babaganoush, he didn't like the...seasoning. He also got the stuffed grape leaves. It was ok, nothing special. For these prices, the food should be much tastier. Can't believe that if you got an entree that if you wanted a house salad to go with your meal, if I remember correctly, it was an extra $8. What? Anyway, all was ok, just not great. Convenient though.More
This was one of our trip highlights! A hidden gem in our opinion! Freddy's looks small on the outside but isn't. We had a very comfortable booth near the bar (by choice, so we could chat with people). We had never had scallops or pickerel...before coming to this restaurant so we were hesitant, but after the owner / chef said we wouldn't regret trying them, we just had to! They were AMAZING! The scallops were tender and lightly battered, the pickerel was incredibly tender and SO tasty! Both the owners (brothers) came to chat and were super friendly! And their home grown beer was the best I've had in a very long time! They really need to sell it in bottles to take away! This is a MUST for anyone coming to the Pelee Island area! WeMore
Third time attending Freddy's... First time was 4 years ago, with my wife and 2 children, where, despite a $250 bill, everything was delicious... Second time was last year with the family and inlaws... $35 plates of 5 pc. perch were overcooked, and I swore...to my wife i would never go back... but growing up in the food business, I appreciate that you can just have a bad night... Third time was tonight, looking for somewhere to take my wife out for her birthday... Truth be told, not much is available at 8pm on a Saturday night in Leanington, so we decided to try Freddy's again, hoping the experience would be closer to the first visit... Immediately, we were greeted by a waitress who 'jokingly' asked us to sit as close to the door on the patio as possible, because after 4 hours and 20 minutes of work, she was exhausted... We ordered drinks and appetizers, and a menu was left at the table so we could order main courses after... but that never happened, because at some point, we approached the 9pm closing time, and the waitress and owner must have decided that their day was over, so we were never asked if we wanted to order main courses, but instead offered a scoop of ice cream for the birthday girl... when I mentioned that we had intended to order dinner, it was obvious that the kitchen was already closed... the waitress did come back with an ice cream cone and state that she was tight with the boys in the kitchen, and could have our dinner made to go if we were interested... uh, no... Just to clarify, we went to a $200 restaurant on a Saturday night at 820pm, and were not allowed to order main courses, because the waitress and owner, who was aware of the situation but chose to enjoy drinks with one of the two remaining tables inside rather than come out and address the situation, decided that they wanted to close and go home early... Message received... customers are not very important here... will be sure to let all of our neighbours and airbnb guests know as well...More
I truly appreciate your frustrations, but the entire situation was miscommunicated to you and your partner as well as myself. So this explain as best I can, we close at nine. We inform all in coming or already seated clients at 830 that the kitchen...More
Family run restaurant. Brothers Mike and Rob were so friendly and gracious. We had excellent perch and chips. Very nice relaxed vibe located close to Point Pelee conservation area. Highly recommended.
Thank you
My husband and I stopped at Freddy's during our trip to Point Pelee. We honestly were not expecting anything out of the ordinary. Boy, were we wrong!! The food was exceptional in every way. It was delicious, fresh and original. I think the chef should...compete on a cooking show, because his creativity and ability to make a variety of tasty food is amazing! One of the owners also stopped by the table to ensure everything was good. He mentioned that his cousin (or brother?) is the chef! Kudos to both!!More
Nice pub on the way to Point Pelee Park. We didn’t eat there so can’t comment on the food. Looked good though on adjacent tables. Had a nice house crafted beer on the patio. Very pleasant.
it was something like that on the owner's shirt who came around and chatted with us and other clients. That's small town hospitality. Our family of four visiting Leamington had a fantastic dinner here. Perch Dinner, Pickerel Dinner, Mediterranean Wrap & Chicken Kebab. The last...2 items we substituted our menu choices for the Fattoush salad (good decision as it was awesome). Extra charge... I don't know of any place that wouldn't once you stray from the given choices on the menu. Prices and portions are comparable to other places serving perch and pickerel. ie. Erie Beach in Port Dover. Some advice of those giving the poor reviews, if you can't afford to go out for dinner, stay home. Thank you for the wonderful experience and great food, I wouldn't hesitate to return.More
Thank you so much for the amazing review
4 of us went to Freddy’s for dinner. We shared grape leaves and calamari. We loved the grape leaves and we all agreed that the calamari was the best we’ve ever had. 2 of us had pan fried perch. One of us had a burger,...and the fourth had a Kafka wrap. Each of us loved our food. The salads and fries were great also. The perch was not over cooked and was delicious. The Irish Mule cocktail was also great. We liked Freddy’s so much that we went back the next day for lunch!More
