My family was meeting visiting relatives for lunch on their last full day in Toronto, which happened to be a holiday, Victoria Day. I gave them 3 restaurant options for our lunch date and they chose Pho Ngoc Yen based on proximity to their hotel. I read a lot of positive reviews about this restaurant which was why I included it in my shortlist. Once I got my relatives’ reply, I quickly made a 12PM lunch reservation for 8 people. I made the table reservation just the day before our lunch date. The person I spoke to on the phone confirmed my table reservation and advised that they will only hold the table for 15 mins then give it away. My relatives arrived at Pho Ngoc Yen almost 30mins early and were shown to table #32 while they waited for my family. Instead of 2 4-seater tables combined side by side, we got this wide U-shape booth seating. It was very spacious and comfortable but I personally did not like the “Last Supper” setup as it was awkward to catch up on each other as well as share food family-style while on opposite ends of a huge table. Server brought 2 kettles of complimentary tea and small teacups as well as a plate holding forks and soup spoons. After perusing the multi-page menu, we wrote the following codes on the order form and gave it to the server: B6 Vermicelli with BBQ chicken & spring rolls ($17.50) T2 Chicken pad thai ($18.00) P6 Chicken pho (medium, $16.75) P1 Ny’s special pho (medium, $17.75) A1 Cha gio ($9) MN15 BBQ Chicken with fried coconut sticky rice ($20.75) MN16 Beef salad with shrimp crackers ($20.75) A8 Fried calamari ($20.75) #6 Roasted milk tea latte (cold, $6) x2 Wait time was reasonable and we got everything we ordered within 15-20 mins. We were not disappointed. Food was plated beautifully. Everything we ordered tasted as good as it looked. Serving size was decent. This restaurant is definitely the fanciest Vietnamese restaurant we’ve ever been to. Think white tablecloths, cloth napkins, pleasing decor and spacious interiors. As such, expect a more expensive menu. The usual tray of assorted condiments, disposable napkins and chopsticks found on every table at other Vietnamese restaurants is noticeably absent here. We had to ask for chopsticks as these were not automatically provided. Service is efficient though they could be a little more pleasant. Same with cheaper pho places, nobody checked on us while we ate and we had to pay at the counter. Female washroom had 2 stalls but only 1 sink. As a result, washroom users had to wait for their turn to wash their hands. You’d think with the restaurant’s popularity in social media as well as dine-in capacity, they would have thought about the practicality and convenience of having more than 1 bathroom sink. Free off-street parking.

Delicious pad Thai and bun. Very generous portions. The restaurant was very busy so good to book before showing up. 3rd visit and never disappointed.

Everyone that worked there was excellent. From recommendations, to tips on how to eat the dish. The food came out fast and was super fresh. I feel like I was in Hue market eating food picked that day.

Don't be put off by the location or appearance outside. Inside the dishes are authentic, the service prompt and the food fresh and tasty I was taken here by a friend and it was full of Asians, a good sign. The so fresh squid was perfectly cooked and the soups (pho) so fresh and tasty.

Both locations are open for business. RECOMMEND: Check their opening days to avoid disappointment before going. Be good to separate reviews and photos, so as not to confuse. Have prompted a suggestion to TA and will post my photos once up. In the meantime, know 2 is just as amazing as 1. Glad they took on my feedback and improved the menu… photos and huge print 👌 #2 is on 1596 The Queensway near Sherman Gardens.

All of those effusive reviews are true. My family said it was one of the best restaurants they had ever been to. They all loved their Pho. I made a reservation two months before our visit and it was perfectly honored. We showed up right on time and they had a table waiting for us. It is full of locals which is always a good sign. Prices were reasonable. Service was quick. The one thing I will say if this places is located in an industrial park with a big line waiting outside not that is bad in any way, just a strange place for such a terrific restaurant.

1596 the Queensway - Pho Ngoc Yen II - amazing restaurant and staff. This location opened Aug 1st, 2023 - can't say enough about them - the food is so good; the staff is super efficient; the food is tasty, well priced, and has generous portions. Everyone I've been with has taken their leftovers home- enough for an additional meal or two. I have now been 3 weekends in a row with different friends and family - if they were any closer to me, I'd be in trouble lol All they are loved this place. Everyone in our neighborhood is raving about them. So glad they opened their 2nd location closer to us. YUMMY !

This might be the best Vietnamese food we’ve ever had! We ordered the food to go and it was ready in less than 30 minutes. The soup broth is unparalled. Portions are huge especially for the price. Super fresh herbs. We ordered the P1 Pho Ngoc Yen Dac Biet = NY Special: rare beef, beef balls, boneless beef shank with rice noodles large C$17.75 and H2 Hu Tieu Do Bien = clear noodles with seafood large C$17. There was so much food we couldn’t finish it but believe me we tried. There was a shrimp toast which we found odd and did not order - we had no idea what we were supposed to do with it so we ate around the shrimp as it had the shell on it and was stuck to the toast – we know sometimes you can eat the shell but we weren’t clear if we was supposed to or if this was just decorative. We hate to include anything negative but the MNI Goi Ba Khia & Du Du = papaya salad was awful. Maybe we should have read the menu more carefully but we didn’t understand that fermented crab meant teeny raw bits of crab in the shell. We discovered this after we bit into it and had to spit it out. The pieces were so small we have no idea how you are supposed to eat it and there was so much of it that you could not try to eat around it. As other noted, it is a schelp from Toronto city center to get here. If they don’t open a sister restaurant, maybe they’ll consider a limited menu food truck? We can only hope.

We found this gem as we looked for a restaurant for a family dinner - we didn’t have a reservation and we were so lucky they had a table! ( pro tip : always make a res in future:-) Because we hadn’t been there before they kindly explained many of the dishes on the menu that we were curious about… And the food was every bit as incredible as we expected. Savory creative vegetables and tender, cuts of meat, delicious sauces, amazing appetizers… I could go on, but you’ll have to try it for yourself! Definitely a 10 out of 10.

Loved the great reviews and tried Ngoc Yen’s rib pho after Pearson airport flight arrival. The lineup was rather long, and despite a reservation (1 for separate cars) and many attempts to get servers’ attention, we weren’t allowed inside until the person who made the reservation got seated. Unfortunately, the 45-minute wait after orders/seating meant we had 10 minutes remaining for the awaited famous pho, prior to being vacated at closing time (9 pm). The owner recommended and one person ordered mussels. We’d heard about the deep fried Korean-style rice cake, which didn’t really taste strong of coconut; and I especially enjoyed the lemongrass chicken and fresh beef cracker dish that was more like a salad. Next time, we’ll make an earlier reservation and ask to be seated closer to the open door bar, where servers seemed to notice customers faster. Gratuities are included for groups, and soon, another location will open near Pho House in Etobicoke. I assume they’ll have the same delightful mix of Vietnamese and Chinese decor, except near Canadian Tire (Queensway) and not in a converted warehouse with disposable cups. We’ll order spicy beef rib pho again, but try it instead there!

I went with my two granddaughters for a lunch, This was our first time at this restaurant. We had heard very good recommendations for this Vietnamese restaurant so we tried it and are very happy with the choice. The food is delicious and the service was top notch. All three of us will return.

Just about everything we ordered was simply memorable. Wait staff right up to owners gave us advice on everything we were in a very busy restaurant with no attempt to rush our dining. I can see why this is a word of mouth gem a find .

You might need a good GPS to get here. Spectacular dining experience. Restaurant, I understand , never needs to run any advertising. Menu wide choices. Food presentation and servers attention impossibly good. Some of the choices our group were among the best Vietnam . Restaurant was busy even in midweek evening. Spotless seamless spectacular . A must try. A foodie paradise.. Thank You P N Y restaurant

We happened upon this place by accident after trying another place which was closed. As soon as we arrived we saw the place was heaving and knew immediately that it was a local favourite. The food couldn't have been better and was especially welcome after a few days of uninspiring food during our travels. The service was quick which was much appreciated as we were famished from our earlier unsuccessful trip to the other restaurant. Would definitely recommend.
