A few couples went there for dinner on Saturday evening. The restaurant is located in an industrial area but if you live around there, or are at the airport, it's convenient. The ambience is nice, clean and spacious. The service was really good and friendly....The food was good: not high-end Italian but not ordinary either. We were disappointed with the marinara sauce in that frozen, not fresh, calamari were used (the frozen ones are tasteless). I recommend the smoked salmon antipasto and the grilled meats (cooked very well and a nice charcoal flavour). The house wine was surprisingly good. All-in-all, a nice place, good food but a little pricey. Without alcoholic beverages, be prepared to spend more than $50/person.More

We were there on business and it was a larger group of 8. The service was attentive throughout the meal. The bruscetta was tasty start to the meal. Everyone enjoyed their entrees and some actually had enough to bring home for another meal. A few...of us had dessert, the tiramisu and the gelato.More

We looked for a restaurant not to far from our hotel near the Toronto airport. What a nice surprise The food was excellent and deserve the hard work from the staff. We had a lasagna and the chicken parmigiano wich was and excellent choice. We...finished the dinner with a delicious lemon sorbet and an chocolate vanilla ice cream. My husband and I were flying out the next day and looking for a quality dinner as we had an early start. I saw the reviews on Tripadvisor and thought we would dine there. On a cold January night this was the perfect place to...go. It was warm, welcoming and quality food. Our host and her staff saw to our needs without being intrusive. It was a wonderful meal without being rushed, almost like visiting home on a cold winter’s night with a carefully prepared meal. Thank you. (I told you I’d leave a note on this site 👍)More

I have been to La Scala 5 or 6 times over the last several years with work colleagues. Thai time we took friends. We had a back room to ourselves since there was a holiday party in the main dining area. The food as always...was excellent and the service was very attentive, especially given that the main dining room was packed. Definitely worth it!More

Myself and a coworker we’re here for dinner we were the last ones in the restaurant at like 8 PM. The location is somewhat odd to us being from the United States but overall the environment is good. Nice and quaint little restaurant with good...food. I’ll be at the service was a little slow. We came here for a business lunch. All I can say is the service was great, timely and polite. The food was pretty good. We shared some bruschetta and shrimp in a spicy tomato sauce for starters. For the main, I had penne a l’arrabbiata...in a tomato sauce with sausage. It was good al dente and the sauce was the right level of hot spicy. A nice bottle of red wine made for a nice meal. I also had an espresso and it was very good. No pictures this time as I only remembered when I already my pasta dish.More

Food was flavorful and cooked perfectly. Must haves...the Bruschetta, steak and portobello mushroom pasta (can’t remember the name), and the home made tiramisu. If you’re in doubt ask the staff, they’re very helpful and friendly.

Each year we visit LaScala for dinner prior to starting our vacation and each year we have had great food. This recent visit left us very disappointed. The only decent dish was the risotto that our friend ordered. The veal dishes were a sparse serving...of veal (not like in the past visits) and we had more vegetables on the plate than veal. We were told by our server that the chef didn't have enough to serve all guests and therefore the small servings. Who tells paying customers something like that??? Our guests were not overly enthused with their pasta dishes either. The caesar salad to start was a pitiful bit of romaine and a couple of pieces of parmesan sprinkled on top. Never had a caesar salad like that before. Needless to say, dinner for 4, 3 salads, 4 mains no desert or coffee, 1/2 litre wine and 2 beers and tip came to $250. We have always enjoyed this restaurant but will have to find a new place to go prior to departing for our annual vacation.More

I have been visiting Lascala for 2 years now and i have to say thank you to my girls for a great service. The owner is often there to greet us at the door along with Johana who is usually my server, she is not...only very pleasant but very charming and funny. Food is outstanding and always fresh. We went to this place today because my guests wanted to eat Italian food and this place had pretty good reviews. The decor, ambiance, table settings, atmosphere is very good and very relaxing. The heating was turned way down. The problems start with the service,...our waitress was a younger lady with very fashionable glasses and an attitude which needs some serious adjustment. Our order was taken and for the three of us, we got a total of 4 slices of bread, which was cold. We asked for some butter which did not arrive until we asked for it again. Our food was very good. Again, the basics such as making sure we had enough water and that we had appropriate cutlery were completely ignored. She offered to bring us cheese and forgot. I was with some very important guests, otherwise I would have been very direct. The overall experience could have been outstanding and in the end, was merely pedestrian, I won't be back.More

We were near the Toronto International Airport and felt like Italian so La Scala seemed in order. I called to make a reservation but since it was a Monday they said it wouldn’t be needed. The menu is delightful with lots of Italian staples and...specials. I tried their pasta with shrimp and my friend had the mixed seafood. Both were delicious and the service was exceptional. Nice place and very good food. Lots of parking at no cost.More
