We celebrated our 37 nd anniversary at Massimo’s. We had table for 2 overlooking the falls. The wine list was fantastic, and the view was spectacular. The food was uninspired and overpriced. The wait staff was very helpful and friendly. Way too much money for...what we received. Again, kudos to the thoughtful and efficient staff, thumbs down for the poorly cooked meals and extravagant prices.More

Great pasta dishes and rack of lamb. Desert: chocolate cheesecake and citrus panna cotta. Price is a bit high, but one is buying the ambiance. The star of the night was watching evening become night as the waterfalls become dark and then light up.

My wife and I visited Massimo’s Italian Fallsview Restaurant last night and we were extremely disappointed considering the ranking it had by TripAdvisor. The best thing I can say about the restaurant is that our waiter Matt went above and beyond the call of duty...as he seemed to be working the whole restaurant, putting out fires every where he went. Now for the bad. The food. The Calamari was the worst we have ever had. Matt, our waiter, graciously said that he would have it remade as it was cold and soggy. It came back crisper, bur definately not better. My wife’s Shrimp Linguine was sub par as the white sauce was dry and almost non existant which made the linguine almost like glue. She did think the shrimp was cooked to perfection though. I had a dinner with Italian Sausage which had hardly any Italian Sausage. Now for the weird. There was a gentleman flittering about, whom at first we thought was the Sommelier as he brought our wine. He then tried to take our order but he wasn’t writing anything down. We had to repeat it to him 3 times, until we thought he had it. Then Matt our waiter came and asked if he could take our order? We said the other gentleman took it. He said: “Oh that was your order” He repeated it to us, and it was wrong in a couple of places. There were at least 3 other such incidents at other tables as we heard people say that they didn’t order this. At each table, the flittering man could be seen trying to figure out what was wrong. Along came Matt to save the day. The flittering man must have been the manager or owner. My guess is the owner as he seemed out of his element. We definately wouldn’t go back again.More

We dined here and had an amazing view of the falls right at the window. Restaurant is located on the 13th floor overlooking the US and Canadian falls. The food was amazing. Best meal we had in Niagara. Try the shrimp linguini. It’s the best!...We highly recommend Massimo’sMore

We were a group of 8 celebrating our friends recent wedding. Some of the couples have dined at Capras Kitchen located in Port Credit. The food is absolutely fantastic in the Port Credit location so we assumed the same quality of food would be served...at Capras Fallsview restaurant. We were extremely disappointed. The gnocchi pasta was flavourless and tasted like it came out of the freezer. The arctic char was dry. The calamari was greasy and not at all crispy and light. The red pepper soup was amazing. The bill was hefty however the group wouldn’t have complained about the price had the food been good. I don’t think this caliber of food is a good reflection of Massimo’s brand.More

After so many great reviews - we decided to visit during our honeymoon. The service was amazing - extremely professional. The food was bland and underwhelming. We had the charcuterie to start ( literally two cheeses - one parm and one grana parade ( maybe)....The bruschetta was lacking flavor. We had the gnocchi for dinner - the gnocchi were previously frozen and seems they just boiled it before service. The wine list was fantastic, and the view was spectacular.More

This was very disappointing. We wanted to have dinner with a view of the fireworks. We arrived at 9 and we were told that there were no window tables available. Then shortly after being seated elsewhere, a very kind and professional waiter, found us a...table by the window. So staff and service were phenomenal. I only wish the food was as good. Ordered the price fix dinner. My husband had the steak and I had the shrimp pasta. My appetizer was bruschetta. It arrived on bread that was more like stale biscotti than soft Italian bread. I sent this back thinking it was a mistake. The server returned with a new order of even staler bread! I really couldn’t believe it. My husband had a mixed green salad and he said it was nice. The entree for my husband was steak and came on a bare plate with no other sides. He said it was ok, but not great. My much anticipated shrimp pasta should have been good, the shrimp was big and fresh, but the pasta was severely uncooked and hard to even turn with my fork, it kept sliding off. I will add that dessert of espresso coffee poured over vanilla ice cream was very nice. We each had a cocktail. With taxes and resort fees, the dinner for two came to 250.00. Way too much money for what we received. Again, kudos to the thoughtful and efficient staff, thumbs down for the poorly cooked meals and extravagant prices.More

My family and are here tonight mostly out of convenience as we are staying at the hotel it is located in. It was very typical and above average Italian. The wait staff was very helpful and friendly. Not much more to say.

From the stunning view to the fantastic food and service, you can't go wrong eating here. Our server Ashley was excellent. We ordered a charcuterie board for the table that was delicious, followed by calamari. Dinner was Gnocchi, which was fabulous, as was the steak...dinner. So glad recent there.More

We celebrated our 42nd anniversary at Massimo’s last evening. We had table for 2 overlooking the falls. Although the reviews raved about the restaurant, we were not impressed. The waiter was distracted and did not check on us after delivering the food and our wine....In fact we waited with empty desert plates waiting for him to bring the bill. He did not offer us more water or fill our wine glasses The food was okay. The appetizers and desert were great but the lamb was tender and had no taste. The rigatoni was okay but certainly not outstanding. For the price, the food should be memorable instead we will not be backMore

We had a wonderful experience at Massimo's. We did make reservations and glad that we did because the restaurant was busy but the service was impeccable. Our server, Rowan, is one of the best servers we have ever had. He was personable and efficient at...the same time. The food was delicious. I had the Pasta Primavera and my husband had the Tortellini and they were both yummy! Prices were a bit high but you are paying for the view and the professionalism. Thanks Rowan!!More

I called to make reservation, someone said they didn't take reservation and for two people we didn't need it. When arrived, a crumby girl, not very friendly told me they are fully booked for the day. I got upset and spoke to the manager, she...took us in, and we Thank you her. Server is another story. Not very friendly, he rushed our order. First time for us at this restaurant, I asked for recommendation, he declined. For us is unacceptable to not having a good service in an expensive restaurant. Foods are extremely poor quality. The presentation not appealing at all. When I looked at my Lamb shank, I said, "WHAT? I didn't want to eat" disgusting look., no taste. Temperature for our foods came out warm to the cold side. Menu is a NO NO for an upscale restaurant like Massimo's. They have only few selections and not special at all. Price is expensive for the cheap foods they serve., and small portion. We were very disappointed. Food at Kelsey's or average restaurants would taste much better and more appealing on a plate. A couple sat beside us ordered only one starter, one main course for sharing then left. LOL. We spent also $300 for food and one beer and one Ice Wine. for nothing. DO NOT order Ice Wine. They tricked me, for something else. Ice Wine, never taste source and plain. or serve in a tall ugly glass that restaurants use for ice water. Then they replaced my wine with something all sugar. YUCKY, for $18, a Beer $11, Tea & Coffee $4 in a tiny cappuccino cup. Server never came back asked us if we want refill. LOL. View of the Falls is OK not much to see, only if you get window seat otherwise, you can't see anything at all. You don't need to pay for your view. Be at the scene. If anyone is looking for foods or want the experience at a fine dine for a date night or special occasion, I don't recommend this Massimo's. This just my thought.More

We had great service from Matthew, but the Hostess, Helena was hesitant to let us in without a reservation even though the place was at 30% capacity when we entered with a great empty table next to the window overlooking the Falls. Oh, and when...we left the restaurant was at about 35% capacity so we could’ve been seated by Helena from the start without delay. Our Caesar Salad was great and calamari perfectly battered with nice bread served to start. The Salmon entree with couscous was very filling and well flavoured especially with the small Italian sweet peppers. Finishing with the Cheese plate and Prosecco topped off a great meal.More
