Prior to my visit to Niagara Falls I had never come across a "fixed priced" menu like the one offered at Weinkeller (and many other restaurants in town). The price is based on either three or five selections with your entree counting as one and...anything else - appetizers, a dessert, a glass of wine. etc. - as the others. I found it difficult to determine what would be good value to order and it was confusing as to what pricing would be if you ordered four or more than five items. This alone would stop me from ever returning! As to the food, it was okay. The portions were on the small side and taste/presentation was average at best. I ordered the salmon and it was slightly overcooked - I did like that you could have it prepared four different ways (I went with the planked option). Appetizer choices were limited and I found the dessert options uninspiring. Service was reasonably good and the restaurant did have a somewhat authentic cellar feel to it.More

Absolutely amazing dinner. The goat cheese app was phenomenal. We also ordered the filet mignon entree and it was delicious. Will definitely be back. Service was fantastic.

So this past weekend My husband took myself, our son and his girlfriend to Niagara and made dinner reservations for 8:30 at Weinkeller. I’m not going to lie this was my favourite restaurant. 5 years ago in February, we discovered this restaurant during a snow...storm. That night was a very wonderful experience, until one of our more recent visits. We went there for our anniversary, we immediately noticed the change in staff and quality of food. Evening with the not so great experience we decided to give it another try. Which brings us to the past weekend. My husband had called the restaurant to let them know we were going to be a couple of minutes late, the owner argued that we weren’t honouring our reservation agreement and was refusing service evening through we were already on route from our hotel. I took over the conversation and while pleading with the owner Chris D. explaining to him that we had been going to the restaurant for several years for many special occasions such as anniversaries, engagements, one of my mothers final fine dinning experiences before passing from cancer and my fathers 76th birthday. He rudely said that he is not loosing his business over me and that he did not care about our family. He had to have everyone out of the restaurant by 10pm and us showing up a few minutes late would make it impossible for us to be out at that time. I once again pleaded with him stating we knew how the menu worked and that I really needed the night out because I’m a full time caregiver to my father who since his 76th birthday has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and needed the rest pit. Also tried to remind him of the time we first found the restaurant and how we had shared stories of our families, at which point he got VERY angry, more rude, degrading, and had said he hated Toronto, Hamilton and that he wasn’t even from around here. He stated that everyone is traveling down there to HIS restaurant because their area is in lockdown and that I was one of THOSE people( find it funny that people loose their careers over speaking that way). I explained that we are in fact coming from Hamilton, but it is not in lockdown and that we are coming to support his business. If Hamilton were in fact in lockdown, I would not be travel to other cities and risking the health of my father. Needless to say by the end of the conversation, we had been out front of the restaurant where I was sobbing and being consoled by my husband and the Uber driver. We ended having to go to Wendy’s because it had been too late to get into any other restaurant because of the regulations. However, all I can say is I will not be returning for those reasons. The quality of food has changed as well as the atmosphere and it is not worth being treated like a piece of dirtMore

On Nov 5 we had dinner reservations for 4. The waitress was super nice and engaging the atmosphere was very comfortable with piped in music and the fireplace was wonderful and warm, but the food was not as expected like as usual when we have...visited other times. My husband and the other couple were very disappointed with their very, very small portionS for 62.00/75 Each. Hubby was so disappointed that he doesn’t want to go back.More

What an amazing dinner once again! This was definitely where I wanted to have my birthday dinner this year. Perfect atmosphere and flawless service by Kaileigh! I had two appetizers... the fried goat cheese (a must try!) and the oysters... delicious! "Four oysters four ways"...and each is prepared differently. I tried one of Weinkeller's craft wines and loved it! Main course - filet mignon this time, served with seasonal vegetables and mashed potatoes. Meat was tender and cooked very red as I requested, and wrapped in a delicious smoked bacon. Another birthday cheesecake! Very light and definitely a dessert I would have again. Everything here is made fresh, farm to table using seasonal products and prices are crazy good for the quality (around $200 for two adults). This restaurant gently warns that they are "adults-only" and the atmosphere is perfect. Do yourself a favor and go!More

My fiancée and I had, by far, the best meal of our trip here. The service that we received was amazing, Kaleigh took the time to talk to us and provide recommendations. Every aspect of each course was outstanding, and their homemade wine was exceptional,...we will definitely be back next time we are in Niagara and would recommend it to anyone!More

We have the best meal we think we have ever had. In Checking our TripAdvisor we wanted something different to finish our last night in Niagara Falls and we were both so blown away by this place. The decor, the service and then the incredible...food. We wanted dessert but were so full couldn’t get there. I have to mention that the fillet was to die for and those amazing potatoes but the surprise was the broccoli. How something so simple could be so perfectly cooked and an added spice to them made every mouthful a perfect one. It was an experience we can’t wait to do again. Thank you so much for delivering perfect!!More

My boyfriend and I typically always go to the keg when we come to Niagara. We decided to go somewhere different. And we were so glad we did! After doing a quick search for restaurants I came across Weinkeller. I have a gluten and dairy...allergy so I emailed to make sure I could be accommodated. The owner Chris responded saying they make everything in house so avoiding certain foods isn’t an issue. Told me to let our waiter know when we arrived and they would work with us to figure out what I could have. Dan was our waiter and he was amazing! He first explained how the menu worked. He then walked me through options for me due to my allergies. He was very knowledgeable about gluten which always makes me feel more comfortable eating out. Dan suggested one of the in house wines, which was AMAZING!!!! Everything that followed was amazing. I got the seasonal salad, bbq chicken with veggies and shrimp. One of the best parts was the chef came out to see how everything was. Chris greeted us when we walked in. And when we went to leave he asked how everything was. Very friendly. By far the BEST restaurant in Niagara Falls and will now be our go to when we go there.More
