Terrific atmosphere, just like an old cellar, below street level, wood beams, lovely ambience. Our server could not have been more helpful or pleasant. This place uses a pricing scheme I don't really like---five items for $85 (contrary to web site, there is no longer...a three item possibility) and you have to pay for five even if you only want three or four. An item is an appetizer or glass of wine or entree, and so on. There are surcharges for a 9 oz glass of wine or the steak entree. Our entrees were very disappointing. The salmon was surprisingly small and extremely undercooked (the server volunteered to cook more); the pork chop was very overcooked (no remedy for this). Given the pricing and quality of food, we probably won't go back. This said, the restaurant appears to be popular.More

In a town that resembles the Canadian version of Myrtle Beach with a main strip filled with souvenier shops and iHops, Weinkeller offers a refreshing escape. Discretely tucked away in an unpretentious building with exposed brick walls and low level ambient lighting. The uniqueness lies...in the fixed price menu with a 5 course offering that allows you to mix & match while cocktails count as a course. Not being a dessert fan I used my 5th course to get a cognac. The food was excellent but I was a bit disappointed with the upgrade (is that a Canadian thing) from Striploin to Filet. A bit chewy and the char was more than char, it was burned. Overall a great experience though and I would highly recommend to those that prefer local flair as opposed to Outback, Fridays, etc. You can get that anywhere in any town.More

My husband and I traveled from St. Louis, MO to Canada for the first time and ate dinner here to celebrate our anniversary. I have SEVERAL food allergies: soy, dairy, eggs and yeast. They were so gracious and helpful and made several trips back and...forth to the kitchen to double check with the chef and were able to make a VERY wonderful and perfectly safe meal for me. I was able to enjoy the experience as much as everyone else there. The atmosphere was amazing and we really appreciated everything Dan and Kaleigh did to make us feel special! I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant!More

We have been coning down to Niagara for who knows how long and I can't believe we never heard about this place, Lets just say we had amazing experience. The food, the wine, the service all top notch. Our server Connor did a magnificent job....Was our first visit but definitely not our last.More

Service is very friendly but the food was slightly disappointing. We had wine but the carafe was chipped, we wanted the oysters but they didn't have any so we had the beef carpaccio and the tuna ceviche. The panzanella salad on the carpaccio was just...2 handfuls of croutons however the micro greens were great. The beef was over done it was not raw as it should be and the tuna ceviche was more like a tuna adequate. The entrées were the pork chop and the Seafood Casino. Hum .. The pork chop was cooked very well and I opted for the apple cider reduction but the potato cake (I think that was what it was) was hard like a puck and I fear was not made that day but reheated. The seafood was good but the gnocchi was mushy and not very appealing. I like the concept and as a local was looking for a place we could go frequently but sadly our search continues as it was not seasonal by any stretch of the imagination. All heavy and as the restaurant got quite warm as the evening continued I think they need to consider a 'fresh' approach. We will go back in the fall but not in the heat of summer.More

Had a great meal and loved the menu concept where you can add a drink or two. The service was a treat and the restaurant was inviting. Recommend a try.

Jaz was very helpful, explained the menu, and made sure we enjoyed our experience with our various dietary quirks. The food was exquisite! I love my cedar plank salmon. Thank you for finding my friends and I a last minute table.

We went on a spontaneous trip to Canada and didn't have a reservation. Visited the Weinkeller the day we arrived in hopes of getting a reservation for the next night for dinner. We sat at the bar and had a drink, met the owner, Chris,...and he made it happen. Everyone was extremely friendly and it was the highlight of our trip. By far the best meal we've had since our trip to France last year, it's that impressive. The menu is simple but flavorful, creative, and fresh. We would gladly drive five hours back to Ontario just for another meal here.More

Thank you for your great hospitality. We were having a very special dinner there and we just can't fault the place. They were busy but service, food and beverages were equally excellent! Kayleigh was a great host and made excellent recommendations. The pork chops were...to die for and one of the best pork I've ever eaten in a restaurant.More

I was able to get a last minute reservation and they were very accommodating. Sat us next to a fireplace. The menu is a bit tough to understand but our server walked us through it. Very nice for couples and small groups. Everything was really...delicious. I got full by dessert so switched out my dessert for another glass of wine. Great concept here! The fried goat cheese is well known around here for good reason!More
