Still the best sushi in Niagara Region and even far better than M_ _ _ in Toronto when it comes to food flavours and taste and freshness. They also have a wide variety of Sake to choose from. It’s well worth it. Service is quick...and efficient. Has been our favourite spot in Niagara-On-The-Lake for Japanese food.More

Not what I expected. Thought it would be a Michelin. Very heavy not great sushi, was so disappointing. Sushi was not fresh, fishy and oily. Tempura too heavy.

Dinner at Masaki was the best meal we had during our five day stay in Niagara-on-the-Lake. (OK. Wine tasting with charcuterie board at Stratus Winery comes close. LOL!) The sushi appetizer was so fresh. Nick really enjoyed their special tea. I had a seafood bowl...with rice, mussels, and scallops and jumbo shrimp in a light as air tempura batter with rice and greens. Nick had Yaki Niku which is braised beef and vegetables over rice. The beef was so tender and flavorful. He loved it! The portions were generous and the service was great! - gracious and attentive, but not overdone. A fabulous meal right near the Festival Theatre.More

Location: In the basement of the Moffet Hotel entrance from the street. Since it is below grade, it might be difficult to see. Service: Curious, but I saw the hostess turn away a couple and she said they were fully booked but in the 90...minutes or so that we were there, many tables remained free. In fact the hostess stopped seating us just to tell them no. As for table service, it was okay. Food: Looks alright but it’s nothing special in terms of taste and presentation or portion size. Overall: Since this is the only Japanese restaurant in town come only if you have a bad craving, otherwise you might want to wait to get back to your own favourite place.More

A great accidental find and a true authentic Japanese restaurant. Full disclosure I am of Japanese descent so would know ! There is a full sushi/sashimi menu, sake variety, and many other dishes including real Miyazaki Wagyu beef. A little expensive but I can’t imagine...brining fresh fish, meat, and other ingredients to Niagara on the Lake and not charge this.More

What a great Japanese restaurant in Niagara on The Lake. Super quaint with excellent attentive service and amazing sushi. It’s right in the strip so you can shop after and a very close walk to the water. The sushi was amazing. Get the tuna tartar

Christmas Day 2022 we discovered Masaki Sushi. We had Saki tasting which the owner explained every kind with great knowledge to perfection. Sushi was the fresh and was a melt in your mouth experience. We had some fresh from Japan. Our server was very knowledgeable...as well. It was a culinary experience like no other. I felt we were in an Anthony Bourdain episode. We are already making plans for our next visit for my birthday. It’s worth the 1 1/2 hour drive just for the food.More

It was a “dark and stormy night” when we arrived. (Be warned this place is not accessible rated…you need to use the stairs) We were cold and damp when we arrived so not in a great mood. BUT.. the warm welcome and bright interior soon...made us feel better. The service was very attentive but not annoyingly over done. Our food…well let’s just say this is our new favourite Sushi place. It’s worth the drive to NOTL for some excellent sushi If you love authentic sushi, do yourself a favour and check this place out.More

I picked Masaki for my birthday dinner, and did not regret it! The food is just out of this world! Fresh, tasty and scrumptious! Kozue, our delightful server, added to this pleasant dinner experience. If and when you are in the area, and want to...try authentic Japanese, don’t think twice: Masaki IS your go-to restaurant. You will need to book because it is not a big restaurant, and it can get quite busy! No wonder Masaki is always ranked #1 on Trip Advisor, and has been for several years now!More
