Greg is one of our top servers. It’s great to hear that he continues to excel at his position. I will be sure to pass on the compliments to him. The pickerel is such an excellent dish! The fish pairs so well with sweet onion puree. Thank you for your kind words about the HobNob! More

The atmosphere is in an old house setting, very compfy and rustic. Love the food and it was included in a wine tour package. The quality for the price was an absolute special on its own. Don't be in rush and enjoy where you are served the way you should be with time in between meals to really enjoy the... More

Spending a day on a wine tour and finishing off your evening at the HobNob is a great way to celebrate Niagara. Each dish highlights Niagara's local food and the wine pairings are from local wineries as well. Come back for a visit to enjoy our more menu options! Thank you so much for your review! More

We recently had lunch here with friends before going to the theatre. We made the mistake of not telling the server that we were going to the theatre so we did not have time for the dessert we ordered. The food was excellent, the prices fair were fair. The veranda is a perfect for a lovely lunch on a hot... More

The menu was very inviting. Difficult to make a choice, but we did and with great success.. From Chef David's excellent Amuse Bouche right through dessert, all the food was 5 star quality. Hob Nob could hold it's own in cities like New York. Our wait person was friendly, informative and appropriately attentive.Good advise on local wines and apt descriptions... More

We were there mid-week during the summer. I'm sure it is more crowded on Friday-Sunday, but it was quite uncrowded, so we got our server's undivided attention, and service was polite, friendly, and accurate. Good local wine and beer selection. I had an Ontario pork dish, and it was wonderful. Note this is more of a fine dining experience, so... More

My Fiancee and I stayed at the Charles Inn and booked a package that included dinner for two. We got to order off the regular menu and everything looked amazing. I ordered the Foie Gras appetizer and it came in 3 different ways - I have yet to taste anything better. The dinner and ambiance was so nice it really... More

Our Chef, Steve Sperling, spends a lot of time on his recipes for Foie Gras. He has had a few variations of the dish this past year, and they are loved by all. Great to hear that you enjoyed it, as well as the service, and ambiance. Thank you for taking the time to post a review! More

This is a nice pub (we did not eat in the dining room) and the wait staff we had was very nice. It is a nice place to go for drinks and some traditional pub fare.

Nothing stood out about our meal as either good or bad other than the painfully slow time between courses. Service may have been tied to kitchen turnaround time, so hard to say if the service or the kitchen caused the problem. Has potential as in a lovely setting. We will not return again as we are one-time tourists to the... More

I’m sorry to hear about your recent experience with us. We have recently changed our menu and that can at time, slow down our kitchen. We have also been short staffed, that should not be an excuse, but can hurt our service. I wish that you were able to return one day so you can experience the usually exceptional service... More

My wife and I always made a point of dining at the Charles Inn on every visit to Niagara on the Lake. We loved the elegance of the old inn and in particular the food. Although a bit expensive, it was always worth it. However, our recent dining experience at the HobNob was very disappointing. The dining room no longer... More

A visit to this place has been on my bucket list for decades. It didn't disappoint. The mansion is stunning in its old world charm. The food is outstanding and with the staff pairing each course with its own handpicked wine choice, this is an experience not to be missed. The dining room is cozy and intimate without being crowded... More
