The Pie Plate is in the process of moving locations. New location is 1607 Four Mile Creek Road, Niagara on the Lake, ON. Four Mile Creek location is not doing pizzas and those are only being done a few days a week over weekends at the old location (1516 Niagara Stone Road).
Ended up with one slice of peach, apricot, & blueberry pie and one large nitro brew coffee for around $19.
The pie is absolutely delicious! Hard to find the right words to describe why, the filling is just this perfect taste and the crust is the right amount of lightness and flakiness and doesn't feel heavy at all.
Definitely would come back, although a shame it feels a bit on the pricier side.

First time here. Came across it driving by and stopped in to see what I might take home. The individual peach pie, the peach scones, and sausage roll are excellent but it is expensive. Although all is delicious I don’t think the prices makes it worth it

The Pie Plate is an absolute must visit when in St. David's. The creativity of the pastries & cookies is off the charts. Real, wholesome ingredients are used. I had the pear & blue sandwich on a fresh baguette & it was so delicious. The pies are also unforgettable.

As a pie maker myself, I can honestly say that these pies are DELICIOUS and generous with the filling. The crust is so flaky and baked to perfection. For this, they get a 5/5 rating, BUT...unfortunately, if you want to enjoy a slice of pie, it is hit and miss. My husband and I used to frequent the original location on Niagara Stone Rd. for lunch and pie when we came to town but, even though it was usually early afternoon, they often had one pie left for slices, if you were lucky. So we stopped going there for the lack of availability and variety of sliced pie.
When we heard that they opened a new location as a casual, counter service set-up only, we were very excited. Unfortunately, nothing has changed. There was one pie left for slices to enjoy on the premises or take-out. It happened to be strawberry-rhubarb which we love but, it was only 3pm on a Saturday and they didn't close until 6pm!!!! Maybe it's just us but, if a place is called 'The Pie Plate', one expects a variety of pie slices available.
The service is friendly but, not precise or with any urgency which was the same at the original location. But, we can overlook that if they only had pies.
NOTE: If you want a whole pie, it goes without saying that you have to order in advance.

So upset! We frequented the original eat-in place many times and were so happy with the food and service. They had delish food so we always made a point to visit. We particularly loved their pizzas. I was so disappointed with the new location , although it was hours until closing and it was a Friday, there was really nothing on offer, no pizza, only two slices of pie left (there were three couples so we had to draw straws!) and they ran out of ingredients for one of the sandwiches we wanted.
We ordered two sandwiches, the bread so so hard that it hurt our teeth, it was obviously old bread. The toppings were sparse. The one slice of pie we could get was just tossed into a take out box and although it tasted great, it was a slopy mess (the girl behind the counter admitted that she messed it up but then did nothing about it) the iced coffee was undrinkable and even though I said this to the counter person, she did not acknowledge or offer to help. We ordered the potato salad that came out as we were waiting for our sandwiches that I grabbed at the last moment, glad I did as it was really good. They do not serve pizza except on Mondays, they do not have pies, only a small selection of desserts, which looked old. I am so sad that the pie plate as we know and love it is gone and instead has been replaced by this, which sadly is nothing like the original pie plate in the old home that they used to have. We will not be back again next time we are in Niagara.

After watching the LCBO Food & Drink You Tube series - 5 Stops Niagara which featured the Pie Plate, I was excited to stop by while in NOTL. I had read the mixed reviews but wanted to try this place for my self. Even if over priced as stated in some reviews, I believe that you get what you pay for and you pay for quality. I spent $62 on four fruit tarts and four butter tarts and was prepared to be amazed. Unfortunately, the items were average at best. I have had better in super market bakeries. I was extremely disappointed. Also the service is rather chilly.

For years and years we loved the old location with its excellent pizza and desserts and quaint atmosphere. Today we found it surprisingly expensive and very average. $4.50 for a small butter tart. Really?? Focaccia slices at $8.50 each were just ok, nothing special. Miss our old favourite. Might give it one more try for their peach pizza! It was divine!

I was having lunch with a friend and wanted to bring some small desserts so it was my first time stopping in. I purchased two apple desserts and a poppy seed loaf. The price of the loaf was listed as $7.95 on the sign and when they charged me, it rang up as $8.95. I instantly brought this to their attention asking to be charged at the listed price. The girl told me it was an old sign and she couldn’t change the price in the computer as she said she wasn’t able.
If they couldn’t change the price, I would have expected to have been offered some gesture for their error. I let them know they should address this but they only acknowledged they were old signs so no effort was made. I had no time to drive somewhere else and felt I could work to get over the discrepancy for the desserts themselves.
Disappointingly, the apple desserts were undercooked that they couldn’t even be cut with a fork. The poppy seed loaf itself was so dry and old that it crumbled apart when cutting and was intensely crumbly, tasting very bland and flat. Maybe because it was so old? We honestly couldn’t finish it, it was so dry.
I always try to support local and drove well out of the way to get there to try it, but with such flippancy on incorrectly pricing their items and not honouring it - and the quality being so poor, I would recommend saving your taste buds and your dollars from ever going to the Pie Plate.

Stopped in for a sandwich and drinks late afternoon. We found the service to be quite rude, the ham sandwiches were good with lots of different ingredients. Have purchased baked goods other times, not great value for your money. Probably won’t return.

The Pie Plate is not to be missed when traveling through NOTL!! Maddy has something very special going on. Her pastries, pizzas, salads and sandwiches are off the charts good! Ingredients are generous, local and oh so flavourful. The charming outside patio allows for some street view seating. If there are butter tarts in the showcase, be sure to get some! Be prepared to pay for quality but you won't be disappointed.

We were recommended this place and wow - the cherry pie was one of the most delicious fruit pies we’d ever tasted. A real treat!
