Absolutely horrible restaurant experience I’ve ever had. Owner Tracey is verbally abusive to customers and her staff look scared working under her leadership. My husband and I tried this restaurant for the first time, ordered 2 gluten free pizza’s and only 1 came gluten free....We sent one back and the owner was yelling at the staff member for making the mistake and that she had to pay for the pizza. Then when we challenged her that we didn’t want to pay for it, she told us to pay our bill and get the f$&! out - more than once. Scary experience and concerned that this experience will happen to others.More

This was our first visit to Arugula and we loved it! Their website indicates "our goal is simply to prepare traditional Neapolitan pizza brought to you by friendly staff in a stylish setting". Check, check, check! The pizza was awesome. We shared the pizza special...of the day, which was a Canadian Grande. Jenna was our server, and she was super friendly and efficient. The dining room space looked great, with the pizza oven right in the middle. We opted for the patio, which is really an indoor space off the dining room, but it has big screens and overhead heaters, so you can enjoy the patio regardless of the weather. We will definitely be back to Arugulas.More

Cheesy garlic bread for $14 was a small handful of shredded mixed cheese on a baguette. Did not taste the garlic at all and the cheese wasn't even fully melted. It was underwhelming and def not worth the price. Ordered the lunch special - was...extremely disappointed that the pizza was soggy in the center and lacked much flavour. I had to add many red pepper flakes to even give it some taste. The dessert option for gelato or biscotti was not available so I was just given a biscotti in a plastic bag - again disappointed that there were no homemade dessert options. Service seemed uninterested and unhappy, although I understand in this market good service is hard to find so can't fault them there. For $70 for lunch for two my expectations were much higher. We will not be back.More

Great little gem. We took a ride after seeing the sign on the highway near Sturgeon Falls. We order a panini and pizza delicious. Definitely authentic Italian food. We were too full to order the dessert pizza!

Was looking for a place for lunch and came across this place on TripAdvisor. We were not disappointed...had a few items on the menu and everything was excellent. Parking was a bit challenging in the odd shaped parking lots. They also had a nice selection...of wines. Go for the pizza...they all looked amazing!More

I have had Arugula's food many times over the years as I think it is one of the best spots in North Bay. Their pizzas are fantastic but I had not tried the nachos until the other week. These are by far the best nachos...in town! Will definitely be getting them again!More

When you first look up this place, if you’re like me you may have visions of a rustic wood burning oven set amongst some beautiful cobble-stones building, overlooking the river... some delightful Italian folk music playing and a waiter aptly named Guisseppe serving you wine...from cantina jugs... the delicious fresh ingredients posed in the background; some ripe tomatoes, fresh Buffalo mozzarella cheese and the gentle hum of the meat slicer making some fresh salami or prosciutto for toppings... Sadly, as delightful and authentic as that may sound, it’s not exactly what is on offer here. I’m not here to complain about the decor or the lack of Guisseppe the waiter... or even the lack of the the wine cantina... but what I don’t like doing is paying premium prices for what, honestly, is nothing better than your average pizza joint around the corner. No disrespect, but $17 to start for a 12” regular pizza with an $8 “upgrade” to include Buffalo mozzarella is taking the proverbial. For $17, believe me you can afford to do a hybrid mix of regular and Buffalo to give your patrons a taste of Naples... and for the “cured meats” pizza - putting on processed crumbled “bits” is nothing different than you’d expect from Generic Joe’s... Don’t let me do the talking - simply do a google image search for “prosciutto pizza naples” — THAT is what I was thinking... but not Generic Joe’s pizza cooked in a fancy oven. Alas, it tasted nice. It was well presented, but I just have to rate it poorly just for giving the impression of this “authentic, real” pizzeria, which was happy to take your money - but as I said, for your +/- $20 a head, will serve you Generic Joe’s from a fancy oven. Take my advise Arugula - for $17, make it buffalo and/or for charcuterie; have a meat slicer going and make it authentic... Much love guys C.O.More

We went to Arugula about 10 of us for my husbands birthday and were very disappointed. As we walked in we did not have our masks on and got yelled at ( not very professional) my husband has a medical condition and was still forced...to wear a mask. The owner and cook was NOT wearing one as she was yelling at her staff to answer phones and other orders which we could hear while dining which made our experience very uncomfortable. This used to be our favourite dinner spot, but no more !! The sausage and the nachos were not fully cooked and cold. We will Not be supporting This establishment anymore.More

At the last minute, we decided to go out for dinner and were recommended Arugula by a North Bay resident. We are glad we took their recommendation! We dined during the winter, and the interior was warm and inviting. We sat at a corner table...beside a window and the twinkling lights outside were magical. We loved the pizza oven - it was covered in irridescent tiles. We had the Quinoa Halloumi, the Gyro Pizza and the Spaghetti and treated ourselves to the large cookie with lattes. It was delicious - and a bill for 3 was just under $80.00. Would highly recommend. Plenty of parking and the service was friendly and welcoming.More

This is a wonderful place to go for a sit-down lunch or dinner. The pizza is stone-baked, in an actual pizza oven. It is more traditional than many Canadian pizza places. An the pizzas are tasty!

We went on a Tuesday night and this place was dead, that should have been our first clue. Ordered the sausage and olives platter (appetizer) and it was so salty we couldn’t eat it. I know that olives tend to be on the salty side...but the sausage of which there was 4 small slices was beyond edible. Greek salad was no better, lettuce was bitter, dressing was too lemony with hardly any garlic taste to it and it didn’t get eaten either. Our main pizza meal was underwhelming, food here used to be good, now I know why the place was dead.More

We ate a late lunch at Arugula with several couples last Friday. The food was excellent. Great salads, pizza and appetizers. Local craft beer too and decent wine selection. Will definitely eat there again when next in North Bay.

This restaurant is always such a treat. There are so many wonderful flavours in every shape and size. It's one of those places where I actually want to try different foods outside of my comfort zone instead of sticking to old favourites. On this visit...I tried the heritage salad and shared nachos with the table. Both were amazing. In fact Im rarely underwhelmed by the food here. My ONLY issue I guess is that I dont think they really thought their floor plan through and those tables... If 2 people sit at a table for 2, and even one of them orders pizza (god forbid they both wanted their own), there is not much room for another dish, or side plates or glasses.... Or if you're a young person that needs your phone on the table all of the time, youre completely out of luck (lol) But maybe theyll figure that part out eventually. Overall, another great experience and wonderful service!More

Stopped into Arugula recently for lunch with a business colleague No soup at all on the menu and nothing outstanding or different about our entree selections that would inspire us to return Our server (female) did not know the menu at all and seemed to...have recently started at this restaurant, so she was ill-equipped to answer any questions that we had about the menu. Please Arugula, prepare your server staff a little better Nice decor but expensive so value is questionableMore

We made a quick stop here while in North Bay and it was fantastic. Our waitress was wonderful. The wine selection was good and quite reasonably priced. In our group we had the Caesar salad (amazing croutons and a great dressing), the arugula salad, the...spinach salad and two pizzas. Everything was fresh and very tasty. The restaurant was cozy and welcoming. We would definitely return if in town.More
