Takes Dining to a Higher Level

Two for dinner on a busy Tuesday night while staying at the attached Best Western Hotel. We started off with a salad. I've never seen a Caesar prepared like this, or tasted one any more delicious. My bride had the Farina salad which was also excellent. A generous chunk of homemade bread, served with olive oil and balsamic to dip also accompanied the meal. Our 'mains' arrived, mushroom ravioli and chicken parm on risotto. Both were in a league of their own. Absolutely 'over the top'. We were stuffed so we asked our excellent server Aline if she could pack us a few Canolli to go. Decadent yes, low-cal ,no. The bill was so reasonable we double-checked it to see if she left something off. Breakfast the next morning was also excellent, at 'Golden Arches" prices. It's worth a drive to North Bay just to experience this place.

An Excellent Dining Experience

We visit North Bay about once a year, and this is 'hands down' our favourite restaurant. Fast, friendly service, expertly prepared meals with quality ingredients, all at a very reasonable cost. A discount is also available if you are staying at the attached and excellent Best Western Hotel. Farina also has a superb breakfast menu.

Excellent in Every Way

We were staying at the attached Best Western and thought we'd try the Farina take-out. My bride had a salad with grilled chicken which also had a dietary request that was accommodated with ease. I enjoyed the lasagna made with homemade pasta. It was a treat and the portion size was huge. Considering the quality of our meals, the price was very reasonable. We also enjoyed breakfast in the restaurant the following morning. It also exceeded our expectations, offering extensive menu options at a very reasonable price. Covid-spaced tables, friendly staff and great food. What else can I say ?

Gave it a second chance and failed again

After waiting for 20 minutes I had to get up and grab our menus. Waited 1 hour and 20 minutes for a bowl of soup told they were making a new batch at 6:15pm. They ran out of chicken Ceasar salad was brown, the charcuterie board was terrible. The roasted vegetables were thin and brunt. Felt sorry for the waitress cuz obviously the kitchen is completely mismanaged. Clearly not organized to handle a busy Saturday dinner rush.

TERRIBLE

We went for a very special date night last night, dinner and a show. This restaurant ruined most of the evening. First we waited almost half hour to get a bottle of wine, another 30 minutes after the wine to get out appetizer (which was ordered at the same time). We placed our main order after that knowing it would take awhile at this rate. I ordered the Chicken Parmesan and the waitress did not explain to me what choosing the starch was. I was under the impression it came on spaghetti, because it's chicken Parm. So she starts rushing through this list and I asked her what that meant if they came on the side of the chicken Parm. She said yes so I picked roasted potatoes thinking it was a side. Turned out it was served on top of potatoes instead of pasta. I didn't even want to eat after that, it was not what I wanted at all and I couldn't get the waitresses attention to save my life. We just got the very expensive bill and left, very hungry. Being in there for over 2 hours only getting our food in the last 10. We were late for our show.

The wait is incredibly long,

The wait is incredibly long, expect delays of at least 1 hour before any food hit’s the table. I order appetizer meatball and garlic bread cheese. Meatballs were cold, with marinara sauce in the plate that was very cold like. Owning out of the fridge, the garlic bread was barely toasted with a light sprinkle of feta cheese. I ordered their specialty burger “mozzarella Burger”. It was delivered after a long wait and no specialty garlic mayonnaise in it. Avoid at all cost u less you like to be disappointed. If you are trying to loose weight, might be a good place. Please avoid.

Breakfast yes, dinner no

The staff is friendly and efficient. Dinner was ok but not something I would repeat. The Caesar salad was dripping with dressing. The main course wasn’t great and dessert, deep fried gelato left much to be desired. The redeeming factor for this place is their breakfast. Absolutely delicious and the coffee was great too. They have a nice variety on the menu. I recommend Farina’s for breakfast but not for dinner based on my experience.

Reliable food and friendly service

We enjoyed a great pickerel dinner x2, fish cooked perfectly & flavourful, one served with cheese risotto & veg, other red potatoe & veg, both meals delicious. Service also friendly, polite and helpful with questions. Been here twice when travelling and great both times.

Not as good as reviews say

Ordered onion soup.....it had no broth in it due to bread in bowl had sucked it all out. Tammy the waitress took it back and brought me a fresh bowl. Couldn’t eat it as it wasn’t even lukewarm so I told her to skip it. Lasagna came next...big serving of it but all I could taste was tomato paste. Tammy brought the cannolis and they were very good. Loved the waitress....kind and funny.

What an Incredible Unexpected Surprise

This is an incredible hidden gym in North Bay Ontario. We were so pleasantly surprised with the quality of food. The only thing better than the food, was the service. Our server, Jana was so delightful and upbeat; a real asset to this establishment. Would highly recommend this restaurant for breakfast, lunch, and or supper. We were fortunate enough to experience both the breakfast and lunch menus, which were exceptional.

Wonderful spot on service! Thank you Tammy! Our dinner was great!! Cesar Salad, very nice. A huge portion of HOT delicious lasagne for my husband. I had Chicken Parmigiana also delicious ❤️ A very nice evening, thank you 🍷

Ate Twice Over Long Weekend

Italian cuisine with numerous menu choices. Reasonable prices and great flavour. No complaints Great service and quiet setting. Hostess spaces out guests . Blues music background. You leave full!

Great Breakfast Menu

This restaurant is located in the Best Western Hotel in North Bay. We went for breakfast and both the service and food was good. The restaurant is not too big.

Mediocre Experience

The service was great-- my family and I loved our waitress! The portion sizes were large-- you get volume for what you pay for. The food was mediocre-my family enjoyed the gnocchi and the lasagna. My particular entrée was probably the most DISGUSTING meal I have ever tasted- I ordered the battered pickerel with risotto and sautéed vegetables. I LOVE pickerel but I don't think I can ever eat it again after tasting that concoction. I encourage Farinas to revisit and modify or completely remove this particular entrée from their menu.
