This little nook has been several restaurants, but this iteration is best: One Five One. Outstanding food on a chalkboard menu - the chef only prepares what is fresh and available. For our evening, it was wild boar. I did the wild boar angelotti, and...my partner did the chop with a cherry reduction. Simply outstanding and great value for what we received. The waitstaff was excellent as well. We would have given them a 5, but their manager was not wearing a mask (ALL of the rest of the staff was masked). When we remarked on it, he responded - why should he be exposed when we are not required to wear a mask? Hmmm...not sure how we would eat and drink, masked. But, whatever. He was exposing us to all of the diners with whom he had worked by NOT wearing a mask. Aside from that, it was awesome.More

I and my daughter had a lunch at outside sitting area in Oct, 2020, it was a Saturday. We had 6 raw oysters with 3 sauces, fish taco and pasta with rabbit meat. The food tasted delicious and with good presentation. The pasta tasted good,...reminds us Italy, rabbit meat was soft. The colorful fish tacos were healthy. The service was also good, the staff members were very nice. This is the first time we have been to Downtown Oakville, and this lunch is very impressive.More

My husband and I went before Burton Cummings show. Serve and food amazing. A must try. Everything was so fresh. We ended up sharing a few things, which was a great way to try different stuff.

Sitting recessed in an spot on Lakeshore in Downtown Oakville, 151 Social is a fantastic addition to Town for local foodies. The menu on their chalkboard - which changes to reflect locally-sourced, farm fresh ingredients - is the best feature of the restaurant. Every visit...is a new experience, and after a first visit, you will have faith in the skills of the culinary team to prepare a fantastic meal, no matter what ends up on that board. Another great feature is their While their charcuterie options, sliced and served fresh based on your choices. This is one of those hidden gems you hate to tell other people about, so you can enjoy it for yourself, but realize you need to give it greater recognition, so it can remain open. This is a restaurant where you get rewarded for having an open mind, an explorer's heart and chef's palate. According to friends to which I had introduced the place, cocktails are good, too, but I always prefer water, so I can enjoy just the food.More

This place is much needed. Chalk board menu changes every week which is awesome. Food and service was great. Charcuterie menu is the best I've seen. Music was excellent. Reminds of New York or Montreal so it's awesome to have it right in downtown Oakville,...can't wait to go back.More

I've been two times for dinner. Excellent food and service. Fun drinks. The staff were all super friendly. Burger was the best my friend had ever had. The gnocchi poutine was yummy (super rich). Can't go wrong with a cheese and meat board...

WOW...This is my first review, AND I only started this account to write about my new favourite place!!!! I visited on a busy Saturday night with no reservations and a friend. Long and beautiful inside alley to get to the dinning room...felt like I was...in New York City...Greeted by friendly staff and was originally told that they had no room and were fully booked, although they did have two seats at the bar, which we were more then ok with. Busy dinning room, busy kitchen, great music and great atmosphere. I didn't want to leave and taken away with their signature cocktails. Maybe a touch understaffed, but talking with the owner, they opened in December 2018 and were still figuring things out...We started with a cheese and meat board with warmed olives and fresh bread. My friend had the lamb pot pie and mixed berry goat's cheese salad. I had the hamburger with avocado fries!!!!!! HOLY!!!! VERY GOOD!! They change the menu each week and I can't wait to go back and try what else they have to offer... Service was great, considering they were understaffed, but everyone was having fun and a good time!!! Will Go back and recommend to anyone who loves foodMore

We arrived at 7:50 for our 8:00 reservation. At 9:00 our starter (cheese and cold meats) hadn’t arrived. We enquired how long it would be. Shortly after they started to plate it, we waited until 9:30 to receive just the cheese and cold meats, no...crackers or bread. We had to ask for bread. We also waited ages for 2 drinks. As it was approaching 10:00 we cancelled the glasses of wine we’d ordered to have with our food and didn’t bother to order main course. None of the waiters seemed to want to make amends. 2 Uber’s and a babysitter for the most expensive plate of cheese I’ve ever had. Final straw was the stinging eyes from the smoke from the kitchen. I’d love to have sampled their actual cooking but wasn’t prepared to wait another hour.More

Second time here, this time with a big group.  Enjoyed the ambiance, though we had to ask to turn the music down at points to avoid shouting to talk to one another. Great service, didn’t skimp on the liquor in the drinks.  Clean bathroom a...plus. Not good: one of the draft beer samples was warm so went with something else. I also think the water here tastes a little nit off - not sure if it’s the bottles or the glasses - I has the same perception last time here (and am not a water snob!) Shared a large bunch of appetizers including charcuterie (excellent), cheese, oysters, arancini, gnocci poutine and more.   Tip: For those who don’t like cured meats, seafood or inventive dishes, don’t come here, especially since the menu is quite limited and not inexpensive.More

Decided to venture out on a snowy night with our foodie son. Everyone was pleased. We started off with a charcuterie board which was amazing. I would suggest getting the rabbit prosciutto and tartuffo cheese. We all selected a different main, my husband squid ink...pasta, son - 151 steak and I had their pork chop. I my be a little bias but I think mine was the best :) prosciutto gravy made it exceptional. For dessert I would highly recommend the bread pudding.More

We ventured into 151 Social on a Saturday night and were really pleased with our experience! We started with a cocktail ("The Downtown Oakville" and a Basil Cucumber Gin Smash - $12). They were both quite good. I had a hard time picking a drink...because their menu has so many good & unique options! We ended up just having a bunch of appetizers for dinner. We started with a charcuterie board. They let you make your own board and the menu lists off a variety of cheeses and meats which is awesome. They also have a "seacuterie" which is cured seafood. We then opted to have the bison meatballs, shrimp and the oysters. All of the food was well cooked and flavorful. The oysters were excellent and they gave a variety of accompaniments. We ordered a bottle of wine (all of them were reasonably priced) and then finished off with a flourless chocolate cake which was delicious. The servers were super friendly, helpful and came around in a timely manner. We had a fabulous evening here and will definitely return. Plus, I'll be recommending 151 to my friends!More

Love this place, had a great time with friends. Food, music, service was great. Chalk board menu so food always changes is a great idea...loved it, I'll be back.
