I just finished an amazing breakfast here this morning and as always it was delicious! If you haven't been here yet, you need to come for a meal. If you have been here, I know you'll be back! It's my favourite, "anytime" restaurant! For breakfast my fave is the GMC Original Breakfast! Excellent!! Coffee Is always fresh, server is top notch (her shirt said Morticia on the back but much better looking!!) And the cook is awesome!! You'll won't be disappointed!! Prices are great as well!

I have wanted to come here forever. The menu seems so wild on line. We went in the morning and most lunch type foods were not available yet. Tod bad, I wanted one of those funky items they had for lunch. I settled for their special breakfast. The slabs of peamal bacon were huge!! like eating a steak. Lots of food,..too much really. Prices were what was to be expected for such a big meal. My spouse had the eggs benny, ..she thought the eggs a bit small in size but the food was very tasty. Too much for both of us, we took a take out box and ate more the next day. I will be back for a crazy lunch menu item.

In trying out several local spots during this latest round of lock downs, we tried the Rainbow for a take out breakfast. In a long family tradition Lou continues to serve good food and ample quantity with each order. We had the westerns with home fries and let's just say, we didn't need to eat for the rest of the day. Try it, you'll like it, but bring an appetite with you.

I have been eating here since 1988. In the 80's this was the go to place to hit while carousing downtown Oshawa. Lots of interesting pics, facts, and pieces of history up on this places walls to keep the most dour date happy and talking. The staff here is freindly, and the postions are good. Unfortunately, I remneber a time when the food was worth the money I paid. The quality in this establishment has gone downhill over so many years, and I do believe their customer base consists of a lot of old people used to grabbing food when in town..much like I do,by habit. Go around the corner to the White Apron if you want breakfast and burgers.

Called into the Rainbow today to Order their Amazing Steak and Eggs and Eggs Benny. I have to hand it to them, everything was perfection! It’s nice to see in these unpredictable times, the Rainbow never fails to deliver quality food, and unbeatable prices. Keep up the great work and Thank you for Everything you do!

I am supposed to watch my cholesterol but hey who cares when the food is this good. Try the eggs benedict with the corned beef. Ooooh!
The service is excellent and the milieu is very old school Canadian. A real gem of a place.

This is Oshawa's best kept secret but not for those of us who know it! I'm here now at least once a week! Amazing food, large portions, pricing is great and the service is excellent! Extensive menu and every item is amazing! Very friendly staff and so nice to get a "hello" and a "see ya" when you come in abd also leave!! Thanks guys! See you soon!!

best breakfast in oshawa. love this place, it hasn,t changed in over 50 years, still has the same decor. The breakfast is fantastic. lots of food and the peameal bacon is great. go there if you want a bit of nostalgia......

The best breakfast place in Oshawa in my humble opinion! Food is amazing,Argentina portions, hot, great coffee, fast service. Clean and cozy. You have to try it, you'll be back once you do!

Breakfast quality and portion size are good. Only issue the cleanliness of the floors especially going to bathroom areas. They need a thorough cleaning or better they need to be replaced.

In response to your review I would like to give you a very brief history of our little family business.
Established in 1958 by my father and his brothers and their father. They were all new Canadians fleeing war and poverty in Macedonia.
Not much has changed in our family restaurant, we still try to provide really good, quality food and great service at a reasonable price to anyone who comes through our doors. I am the third generation of this family to work here and we take a lot of pride in being in business for 65 years.
We are quite a busy place but we always strive to maintain a high level of cleanliness. Sometimes it is difficult to keep the bathrooms clean while we are open as people are coming and going constantly but at the end of the day all floors and surfaces are thoroughly cleaned.
And if something does need immediate cleaning we would hope that the customer would inform a staff member so we can clean it right away.
The building we are in is over 100 years old and as such that comes with the difficulties of maintaining it.
I am glad that you enjoyed your food and service but it is unfortunate that you chose to go online with your comments rather than to mention your concerns to myself or your server.

Do yourself a favour and eat here.
Because if you haven't yet, your life is lacking.
Service is fast and very friendly, portions are more than any other establishment provides and the atmosphere is PERFECT.
It's no wonder they have been going strong for 62 years! 62 YEARS!!!
That there, says it all.
GO. Now.
And thank me later.

Overall I found our breakfasts to be great. Large portions - whether it was the western omelettes that hubby and me had, or the pancakes that the kids had. The only inconvenience is that it is cash only.

Eggs Benedict with Canadian bacon, The eggs were cooked perfectly just slightly soft in the middle but not too runny ! It’s kind a hard to cut through the bacon and keep the egg on the toast I still prefer just a thin slice of ham. It tasted OK . I would definitely say I’m picky when it comes to my hollandaise sauce . So this sauce was nice but not overly flavourful . The hashbrowns were nice and crispy and not too salty . It’s a nice fun place the staff are very friendly and the service is quick . I would definitely come back again and try something new !

Had the pleasure of attending this place with my family, felt right at home! Very cozy and welcoming, plus the food was amazing! You definitely get what you pay for... and more! The portions are HUGE! All of the staff is very friendly. Will for sure be a new family restaurant! Thank you rainbow we had a blast!
