Heard about this place from our son who used to work near by. The store is only big enough for 2 narrow aisles. We waited in line in one aisle eventually snaking back to the bread and sandwich station. 16 sandwich choices on a huge Italian bun. You can also add grilled eggplant, sun-dried tomatoes and hot peppers to any... More

I used to work nearby and remember grabbing lunch sandwiches or Italian canolis etc . My son and were in town visiting friends so we dropped by and the place is as awesome as I remember it. Picked up a dozen Italian treats and made our ottawa friends super happy. Thx Mr Dirienzo!

Just a few steps from Preston in Ottawa's Little Italy exists a typical italian grocer, with a deli counter for fresh italian sandwiches. Go if you are near and hungry, and don't forget to get a pastry or two. Again real ricotta filled cannoli made fresh!

My fiancé was the one who introduced me to Dirienzos sandwiches. Every time he is home we always go there for a sandwich. Saturday's you get the luxury of their lobster tail pastries. They are huge sandwiches for a very reasonably price. It's a cute little deli that also works like a corner store, they have a little bit of... More

Not only the best place in ottawa to get a sandwich.... Likely the best place anywhere. Plus grab a homemade cannoli for dessert. U start by picking out your own homemade bun.... Then select the meats and cheese. Quality meats like hot cappicolo .... Nothing negative to say about this place.

You can't describe it and pay it the proper respect. I have brought two bus loads of people here and elevated to hero status for doing so. On my own, I have been here at least 10x when in Ottawa. Just go. I get the #16 sandwich with eggplant. Our entire family looks forward to the visit.

Went to Marianne DiRienzo's for lunch today. Ordered a sandwich and they added 50 cents at the cash for using Interac. There was no sign up, and when I asked if they would waive the fee and, now that I knew, I would bring cash next time. Woman behind the counter abruptly said "no". Poor customer service. Go to the... This super friendly, family run eatery serves up some of the best take out Italian cold cuts on fresh bread, made to order. Or you can call ahead for authentic slab pizza and pastries, delivered right from Montreal. Be prepared for lineups rights out the door at lunch.

Stopped in on a recent trip to Ottawa for my favourite sandwich. Found out they moved to the new location and renamed to Marianne's. Went in and ordered my usual, spicy italian combo sandwich....not the same as it used to be. no lettuce, no tomato, no onion....just 3 pieces off spicy eggplant...disappointing. I'll be going back to Beech St. when... More
