We moved to Ottawa 1 year ago and being vegan have struggled to find a good healthy dining experience. We happened to walk by Habesha and decided to try it for lunch. Since then, we have been frequenting it almost every 2 weeks. The staff are very friendly and the food is superb. We have eaten in many Ethiopian restaurants... More

The food here was very good. We ordered the meat platter (their specialty), as well as a lamb dish (all served on top of and with injera). The platter included some meat, egg, and 3 types of lentils. This was more than enough for two people, we were quite stuffed; all for less than $30. They even made the lamb... More

I have been there twice and was very satisfied ! Service is a bit slow that is true (not that slow though !! ) but it is for the only reason that this is NOT a chain restaurant ! So food takes the right amount of time to be cooked and ready to be served !! To try for sure... More

The food was awesome. We ordered meat and vegetables which was served on injera bread. There was a variety of spiced vegetable and meats. All the sauces tasted different. It is a small restaurant with authentic food.

Found this online & B&B host recommended it. One in my party has had Ethiopian food so she knew this wasn't the best quality - said it tasted as if the food had been cooked/left on the burner too long and so had a sour-ish taste to it. The other 2 of us didn't enjoy it. It was also quite... More

We were very impressed by this extrodinarily tasty cultural experience! The "bread" made with teff flour is wonderful for dietary restrictions.

I arrived to a full restaurant on a rainy day and wanting something warm and spicy. No worries the owner gestured, come to the back room. So off we followed to a cosy backroom. We ordered a platter for 2 and were happy with the yummy curries and salads. And no lack of Injera, the bread used to eat with,... More

I had the vegetarian platter, it came with 7 different curries and a salad, and PLENTY of injera. Everything tasted amazing, especially the injera; I could eat if forever. The staff were friendly the food arrived fast and the prices were good. I can't wait to go back!

Definitely the best Ethiopian restaurant in Ottawa and a great deal for dinner. The owners are super friendly and the food is great. Must try the kitfo (minced beef, kind of like beef tartar), veggie platter and lamb tibbs. Highly recommend if you're in Ottawa and looking for great Ethiopian food and/or a good deal.
