If you love fresh sea food and amazing oysters, then this is the place for you. The oyster selection is bar none and the freshness of the fish is surprising. This is the best kept secret in town so go and enjoy yourself but make reservations. The place is very small but the food is one of the best. I... More

If you like oysters, good wine, and a lively environment ... you have to check out Whalesbone on Bank Street. Its a small menu that changes regularly, but the lobster rolls are some of the best in town. I had the scallop ceviche and I'm still dreaming about it. But the experience goes beyond the amazing food, it's such a... More

An interesting ambience with really great, fresh food on the menu. The décor is what I would describe as funky, urban chic, but not over done. The atmosphere is that of a friendly, small restaurant where the chefs really know how to cook fish. Knowing how to cook fish to perfection is an art which depends on a chef who... More

We did their 'brown bag' special sandwich of the day and it was spectacular. Bit of a lineup but it moves fairly quickly. Picnic tables outside; however, a street view of Kent isn't the most picturesque view! Have been dying to have the chance to drop in again - SOON!!

The food is of very high quality. Service is usually fast. There aren't many places to sit, but you can always take out. The calamari is the best.

This is the fifth or sixth visit to this fish monger / lunch counter in the last twelve months. They serve the best sandwiches, fish and chips, chowder etc. You could find in Ottawa. The bonus is you can purchase a great selection of sustainable fish and shellfish while you are waiting. I believe The Whalesbone is the supplier for... More

Some blocks from the most turistic part of Ottawa Whale'S bone is a sympathic oyster bar, with a warn atmosphere. You can join the "habitués" and eat seated at the bar. There is a problem with the oysters which apparently stay too long on the ice and are served very cold, almost frozen, and loose their taste. Prices are rather... More

I've got just a 1hour stop-over by bus in Ottawa and despite of eating at Mr.Sub (whitch is directly in the station) I walked 2minutes to Whales Bone and it was the best decision I could have made! They've got daily sabdwiches depending on their catch as well as standards like fish&chips! Pricees are reliable and quality is extraordinary! Salty,... More

The food here is so reliable. Always great. The oysters are the best - so fresh and always with an interesting mix. Lobster risotto is phenomenal. Jared is a great server
