Awesome place and great vibe. However, all of the staff except for the one male server were not wearing masks. This is not the time to be playing with people's safety and/or lives. It was extremely uncomfortable for me and my friends. On the way...out, we asked if the rules had changed. They had no response. Hugely disappointed in management for not enforcing masks during the fourth wave of a pandemic. I will not return to this place.More

Moscow Tea Room has been a staple in the ByWard Market for many years; I've had many evenings that start off with some pierogies and a glass of wine that continued to martinis and sweets. The new menu, that was launched in March 2021 features...a far east twist offering a 5 star dining experience taking you away from Ottawa and transporting you to a city that you see "on someone's instagram" The beauty and the atmosphere is ideal for a date night but versatile enough for a casual bite.More

I was disappointed in Moscow Tea Room. I was on my way into the club when two gentlemen behind me were rejected by the bouncer for the,"dress code," based on the type of shoes that they were wearing! These gentlemen were not inebriated and were...polite!!! THIS IS CANADA IN THE MIDDLE OF WINTER!!!! Shoe wear should be weather appropriate!! I approached the Bouncer about this behavior... as when I entered the club there were (most) of the crowd was wearing anything from sneakers to boots and sweaters sweatshirts and hoodies. 3 quarters of the club was dressed up equally to or less than the gentleman they declined at the door ! They started that they were; "guests from dinner and exempt from dress code! " This to me is appalling as most of the club must have been guests from dinner,(Unlikely). I brought it up with the night manager and I got the same answer. I don't know who these gentlemen are but this behavior is deplorable to say the least. Too bad as the venue was enjoyable however right from the start this attitude created a sour environment. If I had entered the establishment and the majority were dressed up to this 'not posted' dress code then perhaps I would leave with a better feeling.More

Beautiful space inside, felt authentic. One friendly lady managing bar and table service. Food was pricey for the portions and average. Three people, price came to around $170.

We had the pierogies and beef stroganoff, both of which were very good. Good selection of cocktails, although the wine list is not that interesting, very average wines served. Nice modern décor and very friendly service.

We had a dinner for four, Tuesday night. Service was exemplary! Tea, Drinks and food was excellent. Stroganoff was great as was the Salmon Pasta. For desert we had the Warm Scones with English Cream & Preserves along with the chocolate cake. We all greatly...enjoyed our meals. We will definitely return!More

I was proud and the same time ashamed to bring friends to such a supposidly place, which could be amazing. Barman... recognize yourself... you served two Whiskey Sour instead of three, you were more interested if gulping shots rather than serving the clients at the...bar... what an attitude! You got no tip... it should tell you everything. Your are not on my must see list anymore... my friends were from Montreal and really liked your concoction but not aware of your ignorance.More

I had the pleasure of hosting my daughter's bridal shower at The Moscow Tea Room yesterday. The experience was amazing. The Tea Room looked wonderful, the food and teas were delicious, the care and attention Jessica took to making the afternoon perfect was outstanding. The...staff were very attentive and no detail was overlooked in making us comfortable and cared for. The Shower was outstanding success. Most importantly, the bride to be loved it! Thank you Jessica and your wonderful staff for making it a great afternoon.More

I can always count of getting a great martini expertly prepared by friendly staff. They have a standard line up of martinis and other cocktails and its enjoyable to sit at the bar and watch the bartenders prepare them. They engage everyone in conversation which...make you feel comfortable being there, far more than other places where you order and get your drink and that's it. Atmosphere is good, location on Sussex is great being at the gateway to the market. Its a nice friendly place to drop in and my favorite place there is sitting at the bar, even for a meal instead of at a table. My one suggestion is that they should come up with a daily drink creation and feature it.More
