Lovely inner courtyard with super attentive friendly staff. Great choice of food. Tasty and good portions. Local fish and amazing wine from Niagara. Worth a visit.

We had a wonderful dinner here. Everything was perfect! We were very surprised when the restaurant called and confirmed the reservation and asked us if we have any dietary restrictions or any special access needs. That was a very pleasant surprise. In the same way...was our experience. The food was absolutely delicious. We had the beet salad which is very different from any beet salad I had ever had! Then I higly recommend the Trout, probably the best dish I ever had! Such flavours…OMG! Compliments to the Chef! My husband had the Lamb and he was extremely pleased as well. I want to mention Ben, our server who was very attentive, very helpful and knowledgeable and very charming with a great sense of humor! We had our wedding at the Courtyard in Ottawa in November of 2022 and adored our experience planning it with the help of their professional and organized staff. My husband and I had a small wedding (~45 guests) at the Courtyard and the venue was the perfect size. In hosting a daytime event we could afford to rent out the Loft room for our ceremony and McArthur room for lunch. Julia, the Senior...Event Coordinator, walked us through all of our rental options and available dates via email within a day of my reaching out. We looked at a couple of venues in and around Ottawa but decided that something in the Market would be most convenient for our out of town guests. The event itself was a whirlwind but the venue was beautiful. The day before, we met with Julia briefly and were able to describe how we hoped the decorations would be set out. She did a great job of arranging things. On the day of the wedding, Julia was a calming presence and helped family members track down items like tylenol and safety pins when they were in a pinch. She also helped us find last minute accommodations for guests whose airbnb had cancelled on them the day they arrived in town. Many of our guests complimented the food (especially the carrot cake). In hindsight, we could have ordered more expensive wines from the bar menu since our guests drank less than expected at our daytime event. We opted for one type of wine that was a step up from the house wine, but we probably could have upgraded the red and the white and still not exceed the minimum spend. Overall, we were really happy with our experience.More

This restaurant, located in the Byward Market district in Ottawa, has it all - picturesque building, great food, and attentive service. My husband and I were initially concerned when we made the reservation, as we were informed that they were hosting a wedding that evening....Not to worry- they make sure to only accept reservations at a time when they know that the kitchen will be able to produce their usual high quality food. We were in a small room away from the celebration and it was very quiet. They also checked in with us (twice), to be sure that they didn't serve any ingredients that were a problem for us. It is this attention to detail that makes them stand out. Highly recommended!More

We booked the Courtyard Restaurant for our wedding ceremony and dinner in Sept 2022. We were assigned a dedicated event coordinator from the outset; she was extremely helpful and cooperative in working with us to design the perfect event. Everybody who attended the festivities raved...about the ambience and the delicious food that was served. The Courtyard staff's attention to detail ensured that the event went off without a hitch. A wonderful venue, We were expecting so much more. the food was bland and ill prepared. A pricy meal is what we expected However we had much better food, half the price, at the pub down the street.

I reserved a table at the Courtyard for a very special family celebration. Our experience was very disappointing in all aspects. We sat upstairs in a brightly lit area with no ambience at all, not even music. The service was terrible, and most surprisingly, the...food as well. It cost us over 1000k and we all left deflated and angry. I will never go back to the Courtyard!More

We had dinner at the courtyard of this nice restaurant in Ottawa. The staff was warm and hospitable and the tofu with portobello was an excellent choice. A glass of Malbec was a nice conclusion of our supper here tonight.
