Went here with my father his gf and my partner for steak. Had a great time. Some of the chefs seem bored but ours was fun and made lots of jokes. They have a great house sauce. The shrimp scallop and lobster was also amazing on the grill. The giant flame is fun if for a second. The chopping of... More

Seafood and steaks done at your table on the grill with flair and humor. Lots of choice, shrimp, scallops, steaks, salmon, chicken etc... Fresh veggies done on the grill, mushrooms, zucchini, onions etc... Limited wine list but Saki and nice cold beer. Service is prompt, friendly and humorous.

I go to this place on a regular basis. I am amazed at how much I still like it as much as I did on my very time time. Food consistantly taste the same and food is very fresh. Be sure to ask for their famous sesame sauce.

Recently went back to Japanese Village for a business lunch and took 18 staff for a special luncheon. While the food was very good, we were so disappointed that the chefs preparing the food at both our tables had absolutely no interaction with us. No show with the knife skills, no talking or eye contact. It was so disappointing. I... More

Looking forward to this for months. Only turn 50 and travel across the country to spend it with your oldest friend once.....Wish we'd chosen anywhere else. Not busy on the Thursday night before the long weekend, at least not when we were there, yet service was short and barely sweet. Staff didn't seem interested in being there, nothing special about... Fun ambiance, excellent food and the chef had great skills. You need to try this at least once and the more you are, the more you'll have fun.

The Japanese Village restaurant has been an endearing Ottawa restaurant for many years. The food is delicious and quite filling with the courses of salad, grilled veggies, sprouts, rice and choices of filet minion, shrimp, chicken and lobster and sauces. Our favourite is the filet and lobster combo. All Grilled in front of you to your liking. Chefs are entertaining... More

Came here with a group of friends and would definitely come back for the entertainment alone! Watching them cook that food? Cool man. Fire burnin? Yup. Got that right. Cook the food in front of me while I sit and watch? Mmm hmm! That sauce? Wow, how will I ever eat my rice without it? Oh, that's right they sell... More

This restaurant stills give a good lunch treat. Good combination platters and the best Ginger dressing for salad anywhere. The Sesame sauce for the meal is excellent too. The chefs put on a good show and are very pleasant with the diner. A good experience overall and worth the trip. The Beef Tenderloin at lunch is a good value and... More

Went last night. Wanted to give it another try. Service slow not friendly. Chef didn't do anything but cook. No conversation. Or jokes. He was boring. Again spend 185.00 for blah food. Terrible atmosphere. Don't go. Don't waste your time.
