I had done my research. This was a special event and I was prepared to pay for one. Due to the coming and going of all the food delivery drivers, as well as the high level of lighting, this feels like a cafeteria, not a...place for fine dining. Service was basic, but water was refilled, which is always appreciated. Portions were generous, but the leftovers will not be eaten. The butter chicken felt thrown together. The chicken was cooked but did not feel like it had spent any time in the sauce. The vegetable curry felt overcooked. Would not recommend.More
Because of the pandemic our first meal from the Taj was delivered. The delivery was right in time, and the food still piping hot. Absolutely delicious, and the portions were generous enough for a second meal (or maybe I over-ordered.) We had ordered either "mild"...or "medium" for spiciness and were very pleased with the results. The vindaloo was maybe a bit less spicy than expected, but the butter chicken, shrimp and mulligatawny soup were right on! Even the steamed rice was superlative. I have never seen such long grains. We will become regulars here! I would highly recommend the Taj.More
We had a delicious meal through delivery from Taj tonight. We ordered the butter chicken; mattar paneer and saag beef plus a couple of sides. Absolutely everything was fresh and delicious and not oily. We just moved to the neighbourhood and are delighted to find...a great small business to support.More
This is a very small restaurant in Nepean, Ottawa. It takes around 40 diners by my reckoning, so booking is recommended. The food was excellent and if I lived over there I would be one of their regular customers.
The servers really understand ,how daunting it can be, trying to order a nice meal. The result of the staffs helping us was the greatest meal ever. The buttered chicken, with basmati rice as well the chickenTiki and vegetable samosas as an entree with mint...sauce as well another sauce so different yet wonderful. I guess you can tell it was a wonderful experience,BabliSharma went above and beyond. I plan on Bringing my Daughter here next week as we come down from Maniwaki as she is coming for a Visit a good nine hour trip up.More
Love love love the butter chicken here. I have tried about 6 Indian restaurants in the city and this has the butter chicken I like the most., All white meat super creamy sauce. I do find it to be some of the most expensive Indian...food in the city though and the service is ok.More
First time trying this place. Won't be the last. Very delicious food and service was very good! Staff was very friendly and helpful. Shared naan and roti with a potato and mushroom sauce. Also had dhal soup and an onion appetizer. Everything was delicious!
My friends and I really enjoyed our meal. The food was freshly made tasting and delicious, with the full flavors one can expect with Indian food. The service was great and the atmosphere warm.
It was the worst experience ever. The food is not at all good and the waitress is extremely rude. The bhajji which we ordered was not even cooked properly.I would not recommend it to anyone.
Butter chicken was some of the best I’ve had! And naan bread was definitely homemade way better than anything you’d by in a store! Went for lunch with my husband and everything we had was yummy. Great atmosphere for families too. Buffet style.
This restaurant recommend by a friend. It's family owned and operated. The butter chicken was very good. The meat Biryani was not good. It tasted as if the meat cooked by itself (boiled)then mixed with rice and spices. I didn't like it. The Indian chai...(tea) was amazing. Price was a bit pricy for the quantity of the food.More
The food here I always sooooo good. The Tikka Masala and Beef Vindaloo are amazing. Be sure to finish off with the delicious chai tea.
Taj was recommended to me by an Indian friend who said that the food at this small restaurant was as close to homecooked as you could find anywhere. It was a bit of a trip to get to restaurant but well worth the drive. My...friend was right: everything we selected from the menu was so fresh !! I have never tasted more tasty Indian cooking and I really like exotic food !! The meal cost my friend and I around $50 but we had an appetizer, main courses, rice and naan and dessert. It was a wonderful meal and the service was excellent. My friend said she'd recommend it to all her friends too. We'll be back!More
This restaurant is located quite a way from our residence. On arrival, we were greeted by a lady with a nice smile. She informed us that there was a buffet at noon and to help ourselves.
