I enjoyed coming to the thorn after work. Decent beer and friendly staff. Sadly, it is closed. Another victim to Ottawa's emerging culinary scene.More

We discovered The Black Thorn one night by accident when the other restaurant we were going to was closed. It was a happy accident as we discovered a place with great atmosphere and very eclectic food that tasted fantastic

Best potato, asparagus & bacon soup served after 2:00 unless you know the bartender. Cute, historical building within easy walking distance of the Byward Market & Art museum.

Nice, cozy cafe/pub in Byward Market. I was traveling solo and was treated quite nice by staff. I enjoyed a pizza, which was very good.
