We ordered and picked up their special 4-course Valentines menu: cognac shrimp, gnocchi, 4 hr roasted veal and veggies in gravy, finished with Frangelico/fudge cheese cake. One of the best meals we have had in a long time! Everything was superbly cooked, seasoned and presented....It was absolutely amazing! Thanks for a memorable mealMore

I was disappointed with the food. For starters the Caesar salad seemed like it came from Costco. No home made croutons no fresh Parma. Very ordinary. The bread was stale. The white sauce on my chicken was probably scooped on from a pot that was...prepared in the morning. I won’t be back. We were seated in the back. Very dark. No candles. The restaurant needs a facelift. I was happy with the service. Very friendly and attentive.More

Hi Nancy, our staff would be happy to seat you in another area closer to the windows next time if you let us know. Our croutons are made in house and the caesar salads are topped with croutons and freshly grated Grana Padano cheese. We...More

My wife and I arrived this evening for an intimate anniversary dinner, and were pleased to see a sign posted inside the entrance. It stated clearly that patrons must wear masks and keep them on until they arrive at their table. Although my wife has...leukemia and also experiences breathing problems, she is not legally obliged to wear a mask. She wears one anyway, out of respect for the public during her rare outings. We both wore our masks this evening until we were seated. The staff were wearing masks, but not all the tables on the patio were placed a full two metres apart. We assumed that those just one metre away from any given table would be left unoccupied and be carefully monitored by the servers. The dinner was, as always, delicious, but halfway through our main course a young couple arrived who had no masks and seated themselves barely a metre away, with the young man sitting well under one metre from my wife. We asked the server why the couple was so close and pointed out the unsafe proximity of that adjoining table. She did apologize for the oversight, but we asked for our bill anyway and requested the remaining food be packaged for take-home. The two bozos asked "why all the fuss?" and we explained that the Ontario protocol was not being respected. They responded that in Québec the rules were less stringent ("one metre distance") and for them a bit of a mishmash that is hard to follow. Well, welcome to Ontario you two birdbrains, where the protocol is more restrictive and where the infection level is much lower than in your province! It's almost impossible to reason with people who have peatmoss for brains and choose to ignore the realities of this global health crisis, hence we were not reluctant to depart after the two-minute exchange of unpleasantries. As we were leaving, management and staff apologized for their oversights in terms of masks, placement of tables, and seating of patrons, but it should not have happened in the first place. This is the only food-serving establishment in Ottawa where I have not been made to feel safe right from the minute I enter the premises. And this is stated with regret.More

This restaurant never disappoints. Choosing only one meal is the hardest part. There are always multiple items on the menu that I want to try. Every trip to Ottawa includes this restaurant. An excellent meal, nice wine selection and second to none service.

My friend and I had a lovely dinner here. She had the pasta with smoked salmon and I had the vitello marsala (veal). We also indulged in dessert, tiramisu and the chocolate mouse cake. Both delicious!

This is a good standard Italian restaurant. It is located in Little Italy. The service was slow but the food was very good. I had the lasagna. My wife had the pesto chicken linguini. The spumoni ice cream was excellent. Family owned restaurant. Would come...back for sure.More

Attentive to every detail without overt pretention....A fine choice on Preston. Price is right. Food is fabulous. I come to love Ottawa. In all its fabulous changes. This was our first restaurant experience in Ottawa and Canada. (and the only restaurant in Little Italy open on Sunday lunch :-O) I must stress out we are from Europe and we lived in various places around the world, including few years in Italy, therefore...I feel confident about this review, but we might also have simply different “taste” than locals. To cut it short -this is not Italian food at all. Pizza is supposed to be very thin (only one to few millimeters) with slightly puffy edges. Our pizza Sofia (and Margherita) was very very thick and extremely dry and over baked (I couldn’t even cut it with the knife). It was exactly like the pre-made “pizza Ristorante” from a supermarket freezer that reheated a couple of times in an oven. We had few bites each, returned the rest. Very bad. The starter was very disappointing as well. My father enjoyed his parmigiana veal (nicely tender) and my son also liked his spaghetti with meatballs (a bit dry to me). So one point more for that. Huuuge portions, the veal came with spaghetti as a side. However, the biggest disappointment was our waitress (Sara?). She asked how was the food and after I said we didn’t like the pizza, she acted almost offended. She just answered “Strange, it is our favourite pizza”, walked away and never returned. Wow, so rude. No matter of the feelings, a well trained professional waiter apologizes, offers to the customer something else/better and mostly -at the end of anybody’s meal a waiter should always offer dessert/coffee. It took me another 15 minutes just to catch her attention...to ask the bill (yes, we wanted all coffee and desserts, but...). We got a 50% discount on the pizza we didn’t like. Cherry on the cake was the extremely smelling toilet that all customers complained about. Personally, I would never recommend this place to anybody.More

I came here with my family for my dads birthday and everyone absolutely loved it. It was out first time here and the food was SO GOOD. We were all very pleased with our meals and the service was amazing. The staff were welcoming and...tried very hard to make our night special so we're very glad for that. Definitely one of the best italian restaurant that we have been to in Ottawa. If your looking for a nice special place with great food and service, I'd definitely reccomended this place!More
