Excellent food, but Pad Thai was just ok. Met with a friend on a quiet Wednesday night. Fresh rolls and chicken skewers Excellent!!

Delicious Lunch

My husband and I have eaten at Vietnam Palace many times over the past years but most always for dinner. Recently we went for lunch and we were both extremely pleased with our food. The restaurant has a smaller menu for lunch but there are still many choices. I ordered the chicken with eggplant in a curry sauce with rice. It came with a lovely salad which was crispy and tasty. The lunch specials also come with soup of the day and a spring roll. This restaurant is always very clean, the staff are very knowledgeable and pleasant. We highly recommend the Vietnam Palace for dinner or lunch.

Needs to work on service.

The food was nice but the service left a lot to be desired. The hostess and the waiter behaved as if we were a bother from the moment we entered through the door. They wanted us to order quickly because the kitchen was closing but we’re happy to continue receiving other people. They started cleaning the floors with strong smelling bleach while we were preparing to pay and only after a few minutes of serving the table next to us. All in all go for the food not the service.

Always great Vietnamese food!

I came here with a group of 12 for my birthday, and it was a terrific dinner. They were pretty fast this time, and rapidly brought out soups, spring rolls, and about ten assorted meat/vegetable plates for us. The chicken curry and sizzling beef plates got the most acclaim, but everything was good.

Overly salty food

We chose this restaurant based upon the good reviews, but boy did it disappoint. Service was slow for lunch on Saturday, maybe because an unannounced group of 25 people arrived just after we entered. This delayed our meal by over a half hour, even though we ordered before this large group. Both our dishes, Pad Thai and Stir Fried Chicken with Broccoli were salted beyond anything we have experienced before (never mind the daily salt intake recommendations for healthy living, this exceeded the entire week). Even with the salt, the dishes were not that good, compared to many other Asian restaurants in Ottawa. Pretty disappointed with our visit.

Our favourite go to pho place in Ottawa!

My husband and I absolutely adore this restaurant. The service is fast, the ingredients fresh, and we have never had an issue! We go so often that the waitress knows our order! We generally only eat the pho and spring rolls, but someday I will order something different!

Takeout food was poor and not tasty

The food that we ordered as a take out did not have any taste or flavour We ordered two dishes and fresh spring roles as a takeout. We ordered vegetarian spring roles, pad Thai and mixed vegetables on noodles. Because it was a take out we did not check the order. When we came home we discovered that received meet spring roles. The mixed vegetables on noodles was tasteless and the pad Thai was ok but again not too much flavour. Last, the quantities seemed small.

The best Vietnamese restaurant in town

This is one of our favourite restaurants. The menu is extensive with numerous Vietnamese-style dishes. People, unfamiliar with Vietnamese cuisine might just choose whatever have good names. Ask the staffs. Choosing the right authentic Vietnamese is worth for your visit. We used to have “Mỳ Quảng” - Quang-style noodle, and “Mỳ chú Thoong” - Thoong uncle’s noodle. No restaurant in town and I believe in Ontario province/Canada can provide similar quality. The food is not expensive at all. Choosing the right dishes can actually cost little. A lunch for two can cost a little less than $25.

Not your average Vietnamese place

I went here on the recommendation of my friend @jpdaigle who has been coming here with his family for 20+ years. Best dishes are the crispy egg noodles, beef in bean sauce, beef or chicken in lemongrass and hot chilis, and the sizzling plates.

I dine here usually once a month. Decor is very pleasing. The server is very attentive and has phenomenal memory. she writes nothing down and gets a half dozen orders correctly. Rather limited parking make access a bit of an issue.

A friendly Vietnamese restaurant with amazing food.

WOW! What a find. A wonderful little restaurant in the heart of China town in Ottawa. The food is amazing. A little pricey but it is well worth it. It is always fresh and delicious. We come here often and love it. Wonderful, friendly service as well. You can also use Skip the Dishes if you don't want to leave your hotel room! Loved the cashew chicken stir fry and the won ton soup. The spring rolls are amazing. ENJOY!

An authentic Vietnamese, both dishes from the north and the south, however, the central dishes are not, restaurant in town. It also offers vegetarian dish. Of course, typically, Pho and rice noodle, and wrapping. My favorites r jelly fish salad and chú Thòng noodle. Recommended. Cheers

Food is real Vietnamese

We enjoyed very much our lunch today. I had Pho, and my friends had big meals with chicken with lemongrass, fish fried, steam vegetables, soup Canh Cai ngot. The food is great and tasty, Mr An, Owner is very kind and hospitable, Service is very good. We will come back again.
