Went to Al's tonight after walking by the place last night. Atmosphere was nice but could be loud if restaurant is full. Service was excellent. Jake was very attentive. Hosts came by to make sure everything was to our liking. Our meals started with a...house salad. Was good, only could have had a little less dressing on it. French onion soup was fantastic. We both had the beef tenderloin, was good. We were full from.dinner but sat and relaxed for a bit then shared a piece of their coconut cream pie ( save room for it,it was delicious not too sweet at all!!!) Little pricey but all in all you get what you pay for! Glad we found itMore

Thanks for both a great lunch and dinner during a recent week-long trip to Ottawa. Food was excellent, as was service. The cocktails could have been bigger but, really? It's a minor complaint.

Visited Als (again) on Friday night with my in-laws and better half. Service was exceptional as was the food. My porterhouse was cooked perfectly, sides were excellent and the drinks kept flowing. I will be back soon I am sure :)

Our server, Sarah, was terrible. We didn't get any bread, and her attitude was terrible. My steak was overdone. This restaurant was highly recommended, but it isn't worth the money.More

Hi Ron, Very sorry to hear this. Not what we want to hear and not a reflection of the true Al’s Steakhouse. Why don’t you send me an email with your details and we’ll get you back into the restaurant for a more pleasant experience....More

We went yesterday, my husband and I, for a comforting lunch at Al's, not far from home. I was starving but took the time to appreciate the decor, All in black leather, grey velvet and aluminium. A lot of tables where occupied but the background...noise was pleasant. Our waitress Catherine immediately put us at ease. I chose a Beau's beer and the husband a nice glass of wine. We cheers and had a bite of the warm bread that was addictive. After relaxing a little, we received the steak frites for him, and the cheeseburger with salad for me. Everything was perfect and we even received a little box with the bread we enjoyed sooner. A friendly gesture ! All in all, we were happy and promised to go back to Al's with friends.More

I recently dined at Al's Steakhouse and was pleasantly surprised! The location was right downtown and so very accessible. The menu had a lot of choices including steak, seafood and more. Clearly a lot of thought was put into the menu. Prices were reasonable and...in line for what one would expect from a nice steakhouse. The decor / atmosphere was nice - dark walls; chandeliers; and some quiet booths to dine in. The steak was cooked to perfection. I would gladly dine at Al's again and look forward to my next trip to Ottawa!More

I've been going for 48 years. I now live in Cornwall so if I have an appt in Ottawa all's is always part of my journey. It's a bit pricey but you get what you pay for, if you want quality you have to pay...for it. I wish I could eat there every day. Love everything especially the dressing, yummy. Thanks all's for many years of perfection and enjoyment. All our office parties were done there also. I'm hoping you are opened on Monday, I have an appt. Not sure of your covid rules in Ottawa.More

You must know, that when people visit your restaurant that it must be a special occasion. We visited because it was our 34 wedding anniversary. Our first date almost 40 years ago was at your former Bells Corners. We spent almost 300.00. I found what...use to be the place to be, somewhat casual. Yes your staff where in black, but it looks very casual. You have staff walking through with cutoff shorts. Bring back some of the class your restaurant use to have. Understand that whoever visits your restaurant are there to celebrate something special. No one does it anymore. Stand out and bring back the feeling of class and elegance that Al's was known for. We can get that homey casual feel at Montana's, but we wanted class. Fine Dining, should look like fine dining. Your waitress never engaged with us. She just took the order and served. She was not interested in her customers. They need to stand back and not hoover. We ordered Spanish coffee after our dinner. Bring back the show! I bet there is a whole generation of people that have never seen it. Your food was good. We enjoyed the meal.More

Old school steakhouse with great choice of steaks and sides. Steak are hard to beat with great cuts and perfect charcoal grilling. Good service. Prices are fair for quality. Also, they do have a great garlic salad dressing that can be bought to bring back...home.More

I ordered 2 8oz filet mignon meals for take out for my mom and step-dad for her 74th birthday. Even though we had to drive from Elgin to Kanata the meal was perfection! The steaks were cooked exactly the way I had asked. My mom’s...exact words were” if we closed our eyes we would have thought we were in the restaurant! “ Thank you Al’s for making my moms day evenMore

Kitchen will be open until 10-10:30pm depending on how busy it is. We can take a 10pm reservation, that would be the latest! :)
