This is the place you go to as your local. It has a huge variety of lagers and ales from traditional as well as microbreweries. It has a great selection of pub grub as well your standard restaurant fare. A good place to go with friends.

I am not really much of a beer drinker, but on our recent visit, I found two on their menu that were very enjoyable. They also feature wine and spirits, but I was out with a beer expert, my daughter, so beer it was! We also had wings: they were delicious. Our server was attentive and informative.

The restaurant is outdated with a strange indoor patio. We were at the pub with a large group but had terribly slow service. A friend asked for no bacon on her mac and cheese but it was delivered with loads of bacon mixed in. The food was mediocre. Drinks were fine but with wait times like that, what's the point?

The Loon is a regular stop for Friday lunches. The food is nothing spectacular but it does offer a good selection of pub fare, Burgers, and Pizza all of which are good. The real reason that The Loon enjoys a special place in my heart is the constantly changing selection of craft beers. The list changes frequently and offers man... More

Came for drinks. Good beer selections - rotates weekly. Pretty quiet on a Saturday night. Lots of seating - inside, large outdoor patio and a smaller patio inside the "mall' Did not eat.

Guys. It's Ottawa on a Thursday night. The noise and dust outside are horrible. I come to sit inside instead and ask for the sound on the TV to be turned down. There are three other customers with at least 50 empty seats. Don't tell me it's "peak hours" and you can't do that! Try smiling and not spending the rest... More

I don't know why the other reviews on here are so glowing. The only good thing about this place is the patio. Other than that, the food is below average and nothing special. The service here needs to be improved: the waitstaff was not friendly at all and seemed generally indifferent. There are much better choices nearby.

I came here with my family a while back and had the hummus platter - it was absolutely delicious, and the hummus appeared to be hand-made. The beer was crisp and refreshing and the service was fantastic!

Was their on Tuesday for wing night for the first time. The wings were excellent and did not disappoint. The place was hopping with regulars. Good spot to visit with the boys or friends. Always sports on the TV. Thumbs up.

Tolerable wait for service. The waiter was a bit blunt but then realized that the 6 of us were from Ottawa. Seemed to change his tune when he came back with our first round. No food served after 11 pm. That didn't go over to well with us. Could have at least had munchies of some sort.
