We absolutely loved our first experience at Berc’s steakhouse. We had the four course meal and the coup (Potato Curry) was the highlight of the meal for us both. The service and ambiance were wonderful. We will visit again! Thanks, Berc’s!

Great appetizers, great steaks, and excellent service! Good, God ! Let’s eat At Berc’s Steakhouse more often! Michael's family
First thing we all noticed was the dirty glasses all over the bar when we arrived. Then while having our meal, we noticed servers dropping stacked dirty plates everywhere! Leave them while they go off and do other things more important I guess then taking...them back to the kitchen. It was disappointing to enjoy our meals when there are dirty dishes literally a few feet from our table. Food was average at best and over priced. Won’t be back.More
I have went to bercs quite a few times and have always enjoyed it. However last weekend I did not enjoy my meal. I ordered the steak Neptune and the steak was grisly and curling up. The potato tasted funny. The seafood rubbery. I was...very surprised.More
We came for the Thanksgiving dinner, 4 adults and two children. The staff were great. However, our reservation was for 6:45 and we did not get out of there until just after 9! The kids got their meals when the adults were served their starters....The turkey dinners did not arrive until 8! And the turkey was rather dry, not what you would expect for a place that is on the expensive side. There were two other families who arrived after us and were finished before us. The experience was disappointing.More
Food was lovely but our server molly was outstanding giving excellent service and shes hilarious. Totally helped make the night. Loved both nights we stayed.
The staff were very friendly , comfortable restaurant, My Brother and I had to send our steaks back , the temp. wasn't to our liking. When the steaks came back to the table, they were still cool to touch , we decided to eat it...and not cause a fuss. The Clam Chowder was tasty all though it wasn't what I expected being from the east coast.More
Had reservation - no issues with seating or ambience. Fine dining. Agree with some other reviews, nickled-and-dimed to death - everything is an extra few dollars. Friend had steak on a bun and the soup - said steak was tasty, but she took it off...the bun, and ate it separately - bun seemed dry - looked like half bun was toasted, and as an after-thought, the steak plopped on top - wasn't really 'put together'. Salmon burger was a "Strano Cysco" frozen-type ground salmon type - again garnished odd - with smallish slice of tomato and a lettuce leaf and a wee dab of mayo. Accompanying salad was "extra" mandarin/almond. Positive that they refill both water and coffee and that my friend got a complimentary birthday dessert. My dessert - cheesecake with the whiskey topping - cheesecake was not fresh - edges were 'too' chewy. Will we return - probably - because we like the 'event' room that holds a small group of 20 or so people for an event. Know restaurants are still struggling ... better though to put a bit extra quality on the plates, than to scrimp - customers pay for quality and extras and will always return. If we had alcohol (we didn't), bill would have been well over $100. Lots for a lunch for two retired ladies.More
they pushed through 3 power outages during a severe thunderstorm but still treated us to an awesome meal. Our server, Tina, was great and kept everyone upbeat and engaged. I had to help a lady in the restroom, who was having a medical issue, and...they treated us to the most amazing brownie with raspberry drizzle as a thank you - hope she was ok <3 :DMore
It’s great to see local restaurants opening up again and we want to support them so went out for dinner last night. Easy parking, seated right away. I love good food and can cook a good steak myself at home so when we go out...I have pretty high expectations, especially when the price for a meal is north of $40 a plate. Berc’s represent themselves as a high end steak house. But it’s not. Their prices are but the food isn’t. Many items on the menu add $3 if you want salad rather than soup that’s included. This kind of extra charge bugs me. It’s like charging for bread. Which they also do. We chose the 4 course meal for one of us and that seemed like it would be a good deal if not for the additional charges. The main meal was a wait to arrive at our table and when it did come, the plates were not hot, the food was just warm, not hot and my steak was done more than medium rare as requested. My sense was it had sat for a while. Disappointing. The highlight was the bruschetta cheese bread and the mandarin salad. The peppercorn sauce (add an extra $2) was the other highlight of the meal. Without it the steak would have been too dry. And the twice baked potato was good, but it was the bottom half only. Not the whole potato. With a half litre of wine the bill was almost $150 including the tax ! My expectations for a dinner costing that much is a steak cooked to perfection and served piping hot. A much higher level of attention to detail with respect to their food and even here in their online presence. The menu posted here is out of date as I notice the prices on the in house menu are higher. I expect much better value for the money if they want to compete with the Keg.More
This was our first experience with Berc's and it definitely won't be our last! I have heard many positive reviews about Berc's, but due to the fact we don't eat a lot of steak/red meat, and this restaurant is a 'steakhouse', we've not dared to...try it. Well, after our take out meal of fish and chips and the amaretto cherry cheese agnolotti for dessert (which was served with their Jack Daniels sauce, instead of cherries), I was blown away. The fish and chips were cooked perfectly. Just enough batter on the fish so that you could actually taste the haddock. The dessert was plate licking good :) I can't wait to try their other 'non steak' options, and something tells me that I won't be disappointed!!More
Have been there twice - once on each of my trips to Peterborough. The restaurant is nicely decorated and the food is excellent. I did take out as it is COVID. My steak was cooked exactly the way I liked it. Chose the soup option...both times and they were both very good. A bonus is that if you are staying at the Best Western Otanabee you get 10% off.More
Pickup order during lockdown. Right on time. Everything was perfect on arrival home. Would highly recommend to anyone missing dinner out.
Friendly, pleasant atmosphere and really good food. We were a group of senior ladies staying at Elmhirst Resort, and happy to find such a nice place within 20 minutes. The cauliflower chedder soup was delicous, as were our mains, including the steak. David's service was...so good, making our dinner outing all one can expect. Well done Berc's for keeping us all safe and happy during these trying Covid times.More
After researching numerous restaurants in Peterborough we decided to try Berc's. What a wise decision that turned out to be. The atmosphere, from start to finish was amazing. Acknowledging and wishing us a happy anniversary upon arrival to the complementary dessert one couldn't have asked...for better treatment. The food was excellent, our server Charlie was attentive and very helpful. We will be returning again when back in Peterborough.More
