I discovered this place before the pandemic and I was so excited to go back. Even though I had to drive for two hours from Rochester, NY, it was worth it for the amazing food, great service, and overall great experience. I am from Europe....We take our food being fresh and made well very seriously. This was the first place I found since I moved to US 5 years ago that makes food to get excited about because everything is fresh and all ingridients have their specific taste. There are not a lot of restaurants I would recommend without thinking twice, but Bisto Mirepoix is on the top of that list.More

Well, after being, uh, hamstrung by the epidemic like every other restaurant, Matty and company are back at full swing, and what a swing it is. I've had brunch in a hundred restaurants from New Orleans to New York, and I've never had more creative,...more delicious dishes anywhere. This is, to use a much overused term, a world-class joint. As an example, last week my wife and I headed for the unassuming little grey house on Court Street to break the grey monotony of winter. Inside, the place came alive -- aromas from the open kitchen, splashes of art on the wall (as well as the odd plastic soldier) and the always exciting menu chalked on the blackboards. Feeling adventurous, I tried the duck breast French toast. Incredible -- the breast was juicy, sliced thick with a perfect crispy skin overlain with strips of locally smoked bacon, all surprisingly nicely complemented by a blueberry compote. When I commented on the excellence of the duck, Matty matter-of-factly informed me that they use only fresh Brome Lake duck roasting it inhouse. (Jan's smoked salmon and avocado eggs benedict wasn't bad either!) Come for the food -- which is invariably delicious, innovative and beautifully presented -- but stay for the music. Eryn's mostly 60s soundtrack makes for a fun, wide-awake brunch experience.More

On the outside and inside Mirepoix is a small quaint and humble home serving breakfast and brunch to an adoring community. My first experience at Mirepoix allowed me to experience outstanding customer service and an outstanding mushroom and goat cheese crepe served with exquisite greens....I could not comprehend how I had missed this culinary gem since its opening.More
