Hey - we're Jack Astor's. Our mission? Great people helping other great people totally have a blast while enjoying amazing food. We specialize in delicious food and drink and are a lot like a reverse mullet- we're a party in the front and all business in the back. In all seriousness though, we take real pride in our food and make over 200 recipes in house - Every. Single. Day. Mic drop. Try our fresh guacamole, centre cut aged Canadian AAA striploins or our famous Jack's Chicken Fingers, made with fresh never frozen seasoned chicken tenders, hand breaded to order. was at jack astors lonfon today and the waitress had a tshirt on that said “as seen on tinder”. I asked her about the shirt and she said it was embarrassing. Requiring someone to wear a shirt that says that is sexual harassment at a corporate level PERIOD! Not sure about liquid cheese on pricey nachos either

Nice family party with good food and friendly service. I haven’t been to Jack’s in a while my only complaints were smaller than normal portions. Apparantly the menu is new and some items have changed. The calamari at just over $14 was served on a large plate with a single layer of tiny calamari rings then topped with sliced up onion rings and breaded julienne of breaded red peppers. Very deceiving presentation what looks like calamari is heavier with vegetables. Being dissatisfied I was quick to bring my concerns to the server who swept the plate offering other options. A very pleasant manager immediately came over to address my concerns. When the main was delivered I found the plate stingingly hot and pasta dry which makes me think it was sitting under a lamp waiting for the other 16 entree’s to be completed. The actual portion was small and really wasn’t worth the $. Will I return? probably not. I can say that the server was very sweet and attentive.

We took our family to Jack Astor’s for our annual birthday dinner and everything was perfect. The server was great,the manager came over to ensure everything was as expected and everyone from 4 to 71 enjoyed their meal. The St.Catharines Jack’s is the original Jack Astor’s location and the staff take pride in that fact.It is probably one of the smallest restaurants in the chain but the ambiance...light and easy ....is definitely there.

Late but Great Lunch

We found this location by accident on a recent day trip. The staff were especially friendly including our wait person who made us feel welcome. Our club sandwiches were very tasty and our accompanying sides, a caesar salad for myself and fries for my partner were of good quality.

Our hockey team made a reservation for 35 people, 30 hours ahead. We were accommodated without any issue. The servers were well organized and very friendly. The food arrived ahead of our expected time and without any problems. The manager briefly visited our group to make everything was satisfactory which it definitely was. Applause to everyone who helped make our visit a memorable one. Would definitely go back.

Tuesday Night Dinner Out!

My husband and I went for dinner and because it was trivia night, all appetizers were half off! We ordered: Cauliflower bites Tuna guacamole Nachos with taco beef Garlic bread with cheese So much food! Everything was delicious, the tuna guacamole was surprisingly good - a must try (if you like tuna). Our server, Moira, was exceptional!

Lucky it was near our hotel

We were in town for a few days and ate here 3 times. I had something different each time and it was all excellent. I had the Asiago Bow tie Pasta which was very good and also the fried chicken which is featured on the menu. It was really amazing- tender pieces of boneless chicken with fries and two dipping sauces. It was really great. We had excellent service every time too. I will go here every time I’m in St. Catherines.

Wasn’t expecting much as most of theses roadhouse type restaurants are all the same . Had a bacon hickory burger fries and gravy and colleague had the Hino Tuna Bowl ? He said his was very good and recommends it . My burger was cooked well , toppings were good , gravy was good fries were okay . Overall it did not disappoint

Bad Service, Bad Food, Made Me Sick (too)

What a terrible meal. Stopped in on a Saturday night. Service at the bar was slow, slow, slow. The food took more than 30 minutes to come out and the plate was hot to the touch (which makes me think it sat under a heat lamp). The asiago chicken pasta dish had little flavor at all, the sauce was watery, and worst of all it made me sick the next day. So slow service, food that tastes terrible and might make you sick. Never again.

bad can't really call it food

I took my daughter to this place for dinner. Seating was fast ,waitress was fast and friendly. But that's where the good stops. My girl ordered chicken nuggets and fries. I ordered the chicken dinner. Looking back at the kitchen i noticed that there was NO one in the place over the age of 30. ( not to bash the age but how is a kitchen run by people in collage) Our food came out 15 minutes from order. after trying i could see why. my kid said her food tasted like it came out of a box and mine well. I could have filled a shot glass with the grease. This chain, or it might only be this one but do not waste your money here. Save your money and eat at Mac Ds it would be money better spent. Disclaimer I have not eaten at MC Ds in ten years

Great, great fried chicken!!

We chose Jack Astor’s bar and grill as it was the nearest to our car pickup . The ambience was great. We ordered classic sirloin, burger, lobster and crab dip, and jacks chicken fries. We had a long wait as there was a big group ahead of us. But the food was worth it. All were great, but the star of the menu were the chicken fries. The chicken was melt in the mouth tender, and the outside was crisp. We were too full to order dessert. Definitely recommend the restaurant if you love chicken fries and burgers.
