Unexpectedly good! We went there because the "best rated" pub was full. The exterior is nothing to look at either, but the food was excellent! Perfectly cooked steak frittes! With thin frittes as it is supposed to be. Good selection of beers too.

LOVED this restaurant recommended by staff at the Prince Arthur Waterfront Hotel. I was dubious at first but oh man, I am so happy we stayed and tried the food. It was outstanding. I had The Greek Pizza which knocked my socks off, not your...average pizza. My husband had the Duck Sausage and Kniche. Wow wow wow. Thoroughly recommend this place and loved the staff serving us. So friendly and lovely. GREAT service. This place is a must to eat.More
As a local a sov long island is def a fav around here however i ordered 4 long islands for pick up...it was over $100.00 i don't know what would ever make 4 drinks that expensive especially seeing as you are not a 5 star...restaurant.The value of one drink is probable $13.00 at most I honestly had to do a double take when they told me the price and the drinks were also TINY. Never ordering take out from you guys again.More
They have a very diverse menu, and it does change frequently. Their chef must be a prodigy or something. Had a "pulled pork pizza" i believe. Have tried a few other ones with VERY unique combinations of toppings. Never once have i been dissapointed. Only...issue: even before COVID, good luck getting a seat at peak hours. ;-)More
They've set-up an outdoor patio space to accommodate social distancing measures. Servers are friendly and food is delicious. Make sure to check their hours of operation as they close certain days of the week.
Disappointing recommendation. I was told to check this place out, but a waste of my time. I Can’t complain about the service, because here wasn’t any. Arrived at 615pm, and seated my self as per the sign. Grabbed a booth near the bar. Only 2...other tables with guests. Waited, waited and waited some more (over 8 mins) actually. Finally the so very busy (lol) bartender came over. By this time I had already decided not to give the business my $70 I would normally spend for a dinner. Ordered a pint and used trip advisor to find where I was going to spend my money. Not sure if it’s the hipster thing to do these days by ignoring customers when all the staff was to busy talking to each other. If I could give a zero stars, gladly wood.More
Found it on google maps and read review. Went there and very pleased with ambiance and food quality and the craft beer! Fun atmosphere on lower level. Booths and tables and pub atmosphere. Checked out upstairs and that is sexy lounge atmosphere with dimmed lighting...and purple lights I 🤔 Pizza roulette a good idea. They make you a pizza well flatbread I guess and it was delicious.... Bartender let us taste test different craft beers before we made our choices. Would definitely go backMore
Went around 7:30 pm and the place was still hoppin. Had to wait five minutes for a table. The place is very chill, relaxing and stress free. Ordered apps, and dinner and some specialty beer. I’ll have to say that we all enjoyed ourselves and...the food was very good! The server was great too. I would certainly recommend visiting.More
My husband and I were on vacation visiting the Thunder Bay area for the first time. We asked someone local for a dinner recommendation and their top choice was the Sovereign Room. Great choice. We went early and enjoyed visiting with their very friendly bartender....My husband had the fried chicken and said it was the best he's ever had. I ordered the Brick Chicken and it was also excellent. We will definitely look forward to going back when we return to Thunder Bay.More
Very generous size dishes. Dark atmosphere Friendly waitress and other staff. Fast service Very casual dress if you like fast fried greasy food this is the place
went into the Sovereign expecting the same great food we enjoyed previously. We sat down and the waiter gave us their new menu. Unfortunately, the menu's selection was greatly reduced. Truthfully, it looked like an average roadhouse menu and had nothing that appealed to us,...so my wife and I left.More
This is a rocking place, regardless of day or time. We went with some colleagues after a long day on a Friday afternoon around 5pm, and weren't disappointed. There really isn't a lot of parking. I ended up with a street spot a couple of...blocks away. It's right downtown so be prepared. No reservations are accepted. Seating for about 75 at the bar and tables. Families, groups of friends, and couples all enjoyed the evening fare. The food is upscale pub. Our group enjoyed a variety of dishes, and the quantity pretty much matched the price. A fairly decent alcohol menu as well. The only reason this didn't get 5 stars is how busy it is (fair enough, it's a good place to eat), but how close we were packed in, and the noise. We were practically shouting to each other, and couldn't hear the person two seats down from us. Will probably go back next time I'm in Thunder Bay.More
Had dinner here this week. Check the menu before you go - not a lot of choices besides pizza. Food was ok - restaurant very dark so it’s hard to see in there.
Amazing food!!! Hats off to the chef!!! Great service!! Little Gem! Must try! Heard Brunch is great, however, we didn't have a chance to try it. Next time we'll try it. Cheers
We were passing through Thunder Bay on a Friday night and a friend suggested we try the Sovereign Room for dinner. We got there around 7 p.m. and had to wait at the bar for a table. They have a decent selection of local and...regional craft beers. We got a table after about ten minutes and ordered a flat bread pizza. We had considered ordering an appetizer as well but were glad we didn't as the pizza was large enough for both of us. It's a nice small place to eat. My only complaint would be that it was quite noisy. We had to raise our voices to talk across the table.More
