Ive ordered from daiko and visited the restaurant multiple times and this last time i was thoroughly dissapointed. The kathmandu momos looked like they used wonton wrappers instead of in house freshly made wrappers. If i wanted frozen wrappers id make dumplings at home. Also...the achar was almost black. Just chilli flakes burntin hot oil is what i thought. There are plenty of options like shangrila himalayan kitchen at parkdale that are much better options than Daiko.More

This restaurant has relocated to 666B Queen West. Been there the last 2 Fridays and impressed with the frinedlines of the management and the tasty dishes the restaurant serves. We ordered much the same dishes 2 consecutive weeks and things arrived within 20 minutes. Both...day we were there at 5 PM and there were no other customers so I sure hope this is not an indication of their general business....they serve good tasting food and are close by.More

Found this little gem of a restaurant after our daughter travelled to Nepal and was craving Nepalese cuisine. Excellent food and service in this quaint little restaurant.

If you know your Nepali food or would like to learn more about it, do yourself a favour and make your way to DaiKo in Parkdale. The host/owner is a delightful man and is so pleased to help you choose the right dishes from his...comprehensive menu. Some wines available and a nice selection of beers, which I find are a better choice anyway. The food is delicious. Service is gracious. Ambiance is pleasant. Recommended!More

An absolute gem! Lovely atmosphere, wonderful food and great service. I had the Saag Aloo and Goan Fish Curry, and enjoyed both of these dishes (despite the fact that the fish was basa, which I've been trying to avoid lately).Still, one of my new favourite...places. Especially for vegetarian options. Overall, great experience!More

This place has a low-key look with fairly standard grade furnishings, but the food is excellent. Great spicing without the regrettably common overuse of heat and salt. Food came fast, service was very friendly.

Shared a group of dishes, all of which provided favorable spices similar to Indian food. Service was good and décor pleasurable. Try the curries which are not overpowering but have fine taste and spice notes.

The staff is very friendly and attentive here. A couple of times I thought about asking for more water and then looked down to realize that the waiter had quietly shown up and filled my water without my noticing. So the servers are basically ninjas,...which is awesome. Also, the food is great. I had a thali meal and loved it.More

The restaurant serves a great selection of dishes but nothing exceptional in the non veg thali that I had. Good customer service but a little too prompt with clearing the table and bringing the bill. Also nice setting with soft Indian music playing in the...background. Can't say how Nepali the cuisine is.More

Highly recommended! The ambiance is not awesome, but the food makes up for it. We tried both a Nepali main & an Indian one. Also some naans. All of the food was very good. Sameer (owner) was a great host and made good suggestions. Cost...was very reasonable for the quality of food.More

We decided to visit this restaurant on Sunday for dinner. There were not many diners in the restaurant when we arrived. It picked up as we left. We were greeted by a pleasant server and given papadum as a starter. We each ordered a curry...dish and shared two orders of rice and one order of garlic naan bread between 3 people. The total bill was quite reasonable. They will even customize the dish if you like a particular curry, but want to make it vegetarian. Very enjoyable.More

Great food and warm service. Our host/server introduced us to a Nepalese dish she always asks her family make when she returns to Nepal. It was extraordinary. All their food was amazing and we can't wait to go back.

I have only ever ordered take out (delivery) from here but I must say, it's the best Indian food I've had in Toronto. Their Lamb Korma is to DIE for. I am addicted to it. Their lamb Vindaloo is also very good but that Korma...ummm ummmm good - no GREAT! Their delivery is fast and efficient and the one time that they were a bit late the restaurant called me to let me know where they driver was. I shall one day go in person and dine there but their delivery comes hot and the portions are large so I always have lots left over for lunch the next day. Plenty of sauce to scoop up with their excellent naan too.More

We just had lunch at Daiko. What a treat. The restaurant was spacious and welcoming, the food was sublime and the service was wonderful. And as the title says, the best momos I have had since visiting Nepal.

We have been to Daiko many times and have loved it every time. It's our go-to restaurant when we crave Indian/Nepalese food. We have really enjoyed every dish we have ordered there (and we have tried many different items), though some pieces of goat were...tough one time when we had that. Everything is freshly cooked and very flavorful. The lamb saag is our very favorite dish, but it's honestly all great food. They will tailor spiciness for you if you request it. Service is extremely friendly and we love supporting a great family-run business. Portion sizes are very good and prices good as well. If you try it, I don't think you'll be disappointed. Good value for money and great food means we go here at least once a month. We love Daiko, as does our young child!More
