I read Toronto hidden gems restaurants and came across the best shawarma in the city. I had to try it and it was worth the drive from Oakville. It’s inside a Hasty Market convenience store. I honestly had my doubts but wow was blown away. Extremely clean and well organized business. The shawarmas wrap is homemade inside the shop. They have two huge spits with layered chicken rotating. There was a line up and when our turn was up we were asked by one of the 4 servers. It was the largest, jam packed with ingredients of chicken, onions, lettuce, tomato, pickles, pickled turnip, shredded cabbage. I had the garlic sauce and wish I asked for more. I didn’t have the hot sauce but will next time. They also have hummus, tahini and something else. We could only eat half but finished the other half the next day and it was just as delicious. I just heated it in a frying pan to crisp up the wrap. This was definitely the best shawarma we had. Can’t wait to go back. The only downfall is no parking.

Fresh and delicious take-out every time. Best tzatziki ever. Great take-out salad options. I've been going for years.

This place is unreal. I work in the area and this is a staple lunch spot for myself and all my colleagues. Don’t be alarmed that you’re getting shawarma from the back of a hasty market - this is a true gem in the city, with superb portions of fresh delicious middle eastern food every day. Best shawarma I’ve ever had.

This is a small takeout restaurant at the back of hasty market.
They serve shawarma and falafel. The shawarma sandwiches are huge but mostly filled with lettuce as opposed to chicken. The shawarma itself is quite bland. Very few toppings to choose from. Quite expensive (12.95) considering the quality.

Great takeout food place in a Hasty Market! Good quality takeout at reasonable prices. The wraps are HUGE! Definitely worth a try. Toronto needs more if these places!

This is actually a lunch counter at the back of the Hasty Market on Davisville, and is well-known to everyone in the area. Great shawarma and falafel, lots of interesting salads and soups and other entrees to take away. There are 3-4 tables, so if you don't mind eating the middle of the store, you can sit down and chow down, as we did. But the vast majority of the clientele do takeout. Cheap, fast, and very good food -- what more can I say?
