Had dinner here last night for the first time in a year. This was my favorite high end Asian Restaurant, Not anymore. The quality and execution have drastically gone down. The Orange Beef, one of their best dishes tasted like rancid oil. Great staff and nice atmosphere.

There's a well known expression: "you only get one chance at a first impression". Sadly, this pretentious place with really poor service and the most luckluster food I've had while eating out in a long while, blew any chance of ever seeing me, or my money, again. The food taste, composition (hello, so called "sushi roll") and quality is insulting... More

Went for a Summerlicious dinner. Maybe the full menu options are better, but highly overpriced. The actual restaurant and atmosphere is great. The food is just bland and you could find something way more worth the money that will be delicious with better service in the 2 km radius.

From entering to leaving my experience was unparalleled. The hostess was amazing! Very attentive to ensure guest are taken care of. I asked the waiter to choose the dishes and with absolute pleasure it was to what my guest and I desired. The venue is relatively a good size. Decor is beautifully put together and attention to detail was mastered... More

I took my wife to Spice Route for dinner and dancing this past Saturday night. Our table was amazing, overlooking the entire bar and dance floor. Our servers, Jennifer and Joseph, were total gems. Smart, funny, professional, and personable. The food was fantastic. We had 3 dishes to share, and two incredible desserts.(you must try the cheesecake ball) The General... More

We booked a table for a birthday dinner and the food and service were nowhere near those of an upscale restaurant. Our friend who made the reservation was never told that they did not do individual billing. When she asked the waiter about it his reply was: "Well we don't do it that's why they didn't tell you about it"...What?... More

We had a group of 15 and they don't allow for individual billing, minimum spend is $1000 for a group. At the end of the evening we had to tell the waiter what we had to drink, add the $60 per person charge and he deducted it from the total bill which ended up being $2000 (quick math, $133 per... We were here solely for drinks, but their menu looked very appetizing as well and I know from previous visits that their food is tasty. This is a great place for all-in-one - you can start off with dinner and then continue with drinks until the place turns into a lounge/club around 11pm. Such a natural transition! There will be... Though the selection is very very slim (and I assume on rotation) spice route has offered some of the best maki sushi I have ever had. And I know sushi. The remaining fusion cuisine items are relatively common place, though. The restaurant setup is also strangely open concept, maybe because it sometimes doubles as a club after hours, but it... More

Wow..it's a must visit gem on King Street West!!! Got reservation at the last minute, without any hustle, which is difficult on Saturday to find in downtown! Great customer service! The place looks like a Fort from outside, with the heavy wooden doors, and when u step in it's a gorgeous, high class very chic two level restaurant, with private... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
